I will watch the movie again after finishing this review, seeing the images, watching the trailer, remembering everything I can't say in this review, feeling intoxicated by all the feelings, thoughts, and desires that this movie produces in me, all this and more make me need to watch the movie again, and I will be sure I will. I didn't know what the movie was about, at least not completely, the rest I didn't remember, watching it and discovering along the way the main themes was amazing, it's incredible, and for that reason is that I watch almost every movie without knowing the themes, the synopses, even though I may get to read spoilers that only make me want to watch even more movies or series, having preconceived ideas about what you are going to see usually ends badly, and as I usually see a lot of bad movies, then everything ends worse, but I assure you that this is not a bad movie at all, on the contrary, it is a delight, and I wish many people would come to consider it as such.

This is a future where humans have evolved to limits that were thought impossible, they stopped feeling physical pain, they have been experimenting with their bodies, with their physical appearances, and they have even developed new organs completely unknown about which we do not even know what their functions are, in this area we will meet Saul Tenser, who publicly shows his new organs in performances accompanied by Caprice, his artistic right hand, to achieve those exquisite surgeries that only an unequaled connection between two people can achieve. It is not easy to make a synopsis of this movie, and as I don't like to copy and paste the ones I find out there, I have to make my no matter what, this movie is about more things, much more, so I will try not to make spoilers for you to see it and enjoy it completely.

This movie gives me an orgasm every time I remember it, not in a literal way, but in a mental way, so I couldn't go too long without reviewing it, although first I had to calm down enough to be able to write coherently and not spend all the time saying that it is an exquisite, delicious, incredible and sublime movie that not everyone should see because they wouldn't understand it, wouldn't enjoy it, and therefore would end up saying it's bad, as is already happening, many people destroying it without knowing anything about David Cronenberg's cinema, or cinema in general because this is a film that has nothing out of this world, but still everything that is on screen in front of us is different from everything else that has been seen, at least in a certain sense.

Yes, this is not a completely innovative film that can blow our minds, but it is a film that takes things already seen and presents them in different ways, in different rhythms, creating a new artistic expression that can satisfy you or bore you, there is no middle ground, you love what you see or you get completely bored and want to stop watching the film. That never happened to me, of course, but the film has certain points of decline and there you can get to present the idea that it is not worth continuing to see it, if not that it is time to abandon it and never try to see it again. No one is blamed for thinking or feeling that way, but people are blamed for saying it's a bad movie when it's not, saying it doesn't make sense when it does.

I was going to say that this was a slow movie, very slow, but it is not, it is a calm movie, which is very different from being a slow movie. It's not that it takes its time to get interesting, it's not that its pace varies according to what we are watching, it's not that it stops even if it keeps running, no, it's a movie that always keeps its pace, it doesn't speed up or slow down with which we are shown completely impressive scenes, as well as simple conversations that go beyond what we can notice, it's an indulgent movie, that knows what it's giving and doesn't need gimmicks to make us interested in everything it has to offer.

Yes, the experimentation with physical appearances was one of my favorite things, and the impressive thing is not all the modifications that are made, on the contrary, they are part of their day-to-day, practically anyone can perform surgeries, and not just do them, but they do them in public spaces, in social events, in performances like the ones Saul and Caprice do; and since it is part of their daily life, it becomes something normal, so we take people who do not undergo any modification as abnormal people who do not adapt to the new ways of experiencing life at that time.

This film has a social criticism about consumerism and the extreme use of synthetic material in everything, and that social criticism, although it is one of the foundations that allow the exquisite construction of the film, is something that detracts from its value, something that makes it banal and does not allow us to focus on its enjoyment, on appreciating how incredible what they are showing us is, which I will not tell you what it is, and for that reason alone it is not as excellent as it could be.

Here I'm going to melt completely and say that just by watching Vigo Mortensen I was already in seventh heaven enjoying his very existence together with Léa Seydoux and Kristen Stewart, who wouldn't want to be lying naked next to Vigo while a machine cuts us in different places of the body to experience a pleasure that goes beyond the earthly? That scene alone, one of many such scenes, makes the movie worthwhile. I loved that the common sex almost disappeared and was scorned, I didn't love that Kristen didn't have more prominence than she did, I expected to see more of her on-screen, although what we will see of her will be exquisite, a rare and fetishistic character like anyone else who knows what she wants and is not afraid to express it.

I wanted to leave the trailer, but as it is not suitable for children under 18, I had to leave it as a link attached to the image below, just click it and you will go to youtube to see the trailer, and if it had not been because I could not put the trailer I would not have realized that the images I put are very graphic and not everyone can bear to see them, so I had to use the NSFW tag to post this without conscience charges, which would not have any, but well, there is always someone who complains and it's a nuisance. I love this movie, I love its ending, I love its pacing, I love Vigo, I love Kristen, I love Léa, I love Cronenberg, see you later.
