This movie is a beautiful thing that came out of Netflix, one of the very few beautiful things that Netflix is capable of doing. It's a children's movie, and I'm not one to review children's stuff, at least not this kind, but I don't know, it provoked me to review this movie, the plot is expected, the characters are normal, but visually it's fantastic, it has scenes that are very amazing and surprising, incredible, it puts into perspective things that are usually always taken for granted and that's good, breaking unwritten laws that are believed to be correct just because they have been that way for a long time.

The Sea Monster is about a sea monster that lives in the sea and swims. A girl named Maisie is the offspring of a family of great warriors who have faced sea monsters all their lives, so growing up with those stories for as long as she can remember, she wants to become a warrior who will fight as many sea monsters as possible, so she smuggles herself onto the ship of her greatest inspiration, this being the beginning of an adventure that will change the course of events in the world.

Esta película es una cosa hermosa que salió de Netflix, una de las muy pocas cosas hermosas que netflix es capaz de hacer. Es una película infantil, y yo no soy de hacer reseñas de cosas infantiles, al menos no de este tipo, pero no sé, me provocó hacer la reseña de esta película, la trama es normal, los personajes son normales, pero visualmente es increíble, tiene escenas que son muy asombrosas y sorprendentes, increíbles, pone en perspectiva cosas que se suelen dar por sentado siempre y eso es bueno, romper con leyes no escritas que se creen correctas solo porque así han sido durante mucho tiempo.

El Monstruo del Mar trata sobre un monstruo marino que vive en el mar y nada. Una niña llamada Maisie es la desendencia de una familia de grandes guerreros que se han enfrentado durante toda la vida a los monstruos marinos, por lo que creciendo con esas historias desde que tiene memoria, quiere convertirse en una guerrera que se enfrente a todos los monstruos marinos posibles, por lo que se mete de contrabando en el barco de su mayor inspiración, siende este el inicio de una aventura que cambiará el rumbo de los acontecimientos en el mundo.

I watched this movie because I didn't want to watch anything that needed my attention completely and much less made me think too much, Pet traumatized me enough that I didn't want to watch anything unnecessarily complicated to watch for several weeks. This movie has a perfect showcase of what the innocence of children is and how the world is constantly changing no matter what, and how little those changes can affect them when even though it goes against what they believe or want, they still accept it because they don't think they are superior by making them believe that their individual opinions or ways of thinking are superior to the rest.

The comedy will be present, very present, but at least for me it rarely made me laugh out loud, otherwise, I could understand that what I was watching made me laugh, it's just that it's not a comedy that I belong to its target. Most of the time it will be about situations where Maisie will practically make a fool of Jacob by doing or achieving things that are not possible for him, and it will make you laugh, a lot of laughs, especially because it hurts that male ego that can't stand a girl achieving something he wants but can't do.

Vi esta película porque no quería ver nada que necesitara mi atención por completo y que mucho menos me hiciera pensar demasiado, Pet me traumó lo suficiente como para no querer ver nada innecesariamente complicado de ver por varias semanas. Esta película tiene una perfecta muestra de lo que es la inocencia de los niños y la forma en que el mundo está en constante cambio sin importar qué, y lo muy poco que les puede llegar a afectar esos cambios cuando a pesar de que va en contra de lo que creen o quieren, lo siguen aceptando pues no se creen superiores haciéndoles creer que sus opiniones o maneras de pensar individuales sean superiores a las del resto.

La comedia va a estar presente, muy presente, pero al menos a mí muy pocas veces me hizo reír a carcagadas, de resto sí podía entender que lo que estaba viendo daba risa, solo que ya no es una comedia a la que yo pertenezca a su target. La mayoría de las veces se va a tratar de situaciones donde Maisie va a practicamente dejar en ridículo a Jacob al hacer o lograr hacer cosas que no se les hacen posible a él, y va a dar risa, mucha risa, en especial porque hiere ese ego masculino que no soporta que una niña logre algo que él quiere pero no puede hacer.

As always this is going to be a world ruled by adults where the vision of a child is going to be completely repressed for the simple fact that she is a child and doesn't know anything about what is happening, the best thing is that Maisie will shut half the world up, because as she says, you can be a hero and at the same time be wrong about something, and everyone is wrong about something sometime, and in this movie, almost everyone will be wrong about what they think is right just because it has been that way for many years.

The hunt for the sea monsters is going to be a key point where it will always come back to, because as seen in the trailer, Maisie befriends one and adopts it, giving it the name Blue, just because it is blue, and as usual, Jacob tells her that it is not a pet, that she can't adopt it, because they are evil creatures that only exist to eat humans and cause chaos. Maisie will prove them all wrong, and best of all, she will manage to keep Blue.

Como siempre este va a ser un mundo gobernado por adultos donde la visión de una niña va a ser completamente reprimida por el simple hecho de que es una niña y no sabe nada de lo que está sucediendo, lo mejor es que Maisie le callará la boca a medio mundo, pues como ella misma dice, puedes ser un héroe y la vez estar equivocado sobre algo, y todo el mundo está equivocado sobre algo alguna vez, y en esta película casi todo el mundo lo estará sobre eso que creen correcto solo porque ha sido de esa forma durante muchos años.

La caza de los monstruos marinos va a ser un punto clave a donde siempre se va a retornar, pues como se ve en el trailer, Maisie se hace amiga de uno y lo adopta, dándole el nombre de Blue, solo porque es azul, y como siempre, Jacob le dice que no es una mascota, que es imposible que lo adopte, pues son criaturas malignas que solo existen para comerse a los humanos y causar caos. Maisie les demostrará a todos que están equivoados, y lo mejor, logrará quedarse con Blue.
