Con esta película vamos a entrar a terreno escabroso y es que en apenas 1 día que tiene al aire ya está dando de qué hablar, para bien como para mal. Zack Snyder es de los directores de cine de los que siempre se habla cuando saca algún tipo de producción nueva, no se si es porque es polémico o por su forma de hacer las cosas tan particulares. Lo último de él fue la Liga de la Justicia en el 2021, una que si la comparamos con su predecesora fue bastante mejor. Pero en esta oportunidad viene a lanzarse un clavado al vacío con Rebel Moon, digo esto porque el riesgo que representan esta película es grande en el sentido de que a muchos puristas les puede parecer una vil copia de algunas cosas que hay por ahí.

Zack Snyder is one of the movie directors that is always talked about when he brings out some kind of new production, I don't know if it's because he is controversial or because of his particular way of doing things. The last of him was Justice League in 2021, one that if we compare it with its predecessor was much better. But this time he comes to dive into the void with Rebel Moon, I say this because the risk that this film represents is great in the sense that many purists may find it a vile copy of some things that are out there.

Yo soy fan de Snyder desde Watchmen, creo que de lo mejor de él y ahora habiendo visto este nuevo film puedo decir que lo seguiré siendo. No soy un crítico de cine de Rotten Tomatoes y tampoco soy esos puristas que mencioné antes por lo que lo que diga es desde la sinceridad absoluta. Rebel Moon es una joya visual, de principio a fin dan ganas de seguir viendo esa cinematografía pero sí que es verdad que en cuanto a trama se puede parecer burdamente a Star Wars, en muchas cosas de hecho, pero acá pregunto, la inspiración entonces no existe, o las referencias? - es un tema largo y tendido y la razón principal del por qué está recibiendo tantos palos. Pero nada, hablemos un poco más de este nuevo universo.

I've been a Snyder fan since Watchmen, I think one of his best and now having seen this new film I can say that I will continue to be. I'm not a Rotten Tomatoes film critic and I'm not those purists I mentioned before so what I say is from absolute sincerity. Rebel Moon is a visual jewel, from beginning to end it makes you want to keep watching that cinematography but it is true that in terms of plot it can be very similar to Star Wars, in many things in fact, but here I ask, the inspiration does not exist, or the references? - is a long and drawn out topic and the main reason why it is receiving so many sticks. But nothing, let's talk a little more about this new universe.

Kora (Sofia Boutella) es una joven que vive en una aldea de un lugar tranquilo y lleno de paz. Un lugar que vive de las cosechas y apartado de todo tipo de problemas. El detalle es que el universo en donde habitan está controlado por una fuerza opresora, algo llamado Mundo Madre, el cual está liderado por el regente Belisarius. La idea de ellos es apoderarse y controlar todo al mismo tiempo que aprovechan de apaciguar una revolución que se está gestando en su contra desde hace un tiempo. Evidentemente todo esto no es a través de la diplomacia sino por medio del miedo y la violencia, algo que no es nada nuevo la verdad. Un movimiento lleno de tiranía queriéndose apoderar de todas las galaxias?... se los tengo.

Kora (Sofia Boutella) is a young girl who lives in a village in a quiet and peaceful place. A place that lives on crops and away from all kinds of problems. The detail is that the universe where they live is controlled by an oppressive force, something called Mother World, which is led by the regent Belisarius. Their idea is to take over and control everything at the same time that they take the opportunity to appease a revolution that has been brewing against them for some time. Evidently all this is not through diplomacy but through fear and violence, something that is nothing new really. A movement full of tyranny wanting to take over all the galaxies... La cosa es que el pasado de Kora tiene sus detalles y aprovechando eso ella decide irse de aquella aldea para reclutar a una serie de guerreros y personajes que estén dispuestos a hacerle frente a ese "gobierno". La trama más o menos arranca acá, en el viaje de ella a través de varios planetas buscando a estas personas que quieran unirseles en nombre de la venganza. Hasta este momento ya hemos conocido también al almirante Atticus Noble (Ed Skrein), una especie de nazi intergaláctico quien es la cara del enemigo. Como les dije este film tiene unas cuantas referencias, bastantes diría yo, que nos llamarán la atención a lo largo de la película.

Up to this point we have already met Admiral Atticus Noble (Ed Skrein), a sort of intergalactic Nazi who is the face of the enemy. As I told you this film has a few references, quite a few I would say, that will catch our attention throughout the movie.

Lo primero a decir es lo más o menos mencionado antes. Lo mejor que tiene esta película y por lejos es todo lo que tiene que ver con lo visual, Snyder logra unas cinematográficas espectaculares que nos acompañan todo el film. Todo eso acompañado por vestuarios y algunas locaciones que lo único que logran es resaltar lo ya evidente. Hasta los colores, la fotografía, todo se combina para que lo que vean tus ojos sea, nunca mejor dicho, de otro mundo. En cuanto a escenas de acción creo que también están bien logradas, hay unas cuantas que me llamaron mucho la atención, son de esas que te embelesan y no puedes dejar de mirar, hay mucho del Slow Motion típico de Snyder. Y bueno los efectos, hay sus detalles por allí, no todo estuvo tan limpio como esperaba y con el presupuesto que se manejaba.

As for action scenes, I think they are also well done, there are a few that caught my attention, they are those that enrapture you and you can not stop watching, there is a lot of Slow Motion typical of Snyder. And well the effects, there are some details there, not everything was as clean as I expected and with the budget that was handled.

Hablando de las referencias. Yo pude percibir cosas de: Star Wars, Harry Potter, GOT, Bastardos sin Gloria, El Señor de los Anillos, etc. Esto es malo? - pues si son muy evidente es posible. Hay escenas en donde no se si estaba viendo a Nemesis (Bae Doona) o a Kylo Ren. Existen muchos guiños a lo largo del film que nos teletransportan a otras películas y eso está cool pero a veces siento que a nuestro amigo Zack es probable que se le haya ido la mano un poco. Lo de Star Wars es innegable, podría ser hasta una copia en cuanto a trama, personajes, maquillajes y visualizaciones pero quiero pensar que esta es la visión de Snyder de ago alternativo a lo ya conocido.

Speaking of references. I could perceive things from: Star Wars, Harry Potter, GOT, Inglourious Basterds, Lord of the Rings, etc. Is this bad? - Well, if they are very evident it is possible. There are scenes where I don't know if I was watching Nemesis (Bae Doona) or Kylo Ren. There are many winks throughout the film that teleport us to other movies and that's cool but sometimes I feel that our friend Zack has probably gone a little overboard. The Star Wars stuff is undeniable, it could even be a copy in terms of plot, characters, makeups and visualizations but I want to think this is Snyder's vision of alternative ago to what is already known.

La trama como también dije es simple hasta más no poder, no hay nada diferente a algo que ya hayan visto en el pasado. Como esta se han hecho cientos de películas pero esto impide que el film sea disfrutable, en lo personal me gustó bastante, estuve pendiente siempre, nunca me aburrí a pesar de que uno más o menos ya supiera por dónde iban las cosas. Al final del día lo que se busca es entretener con algo de calidad, porque si, a pesar de todo hay mucha calidad. Los personajes están buenos, quizás un poco más de profundidad en ellos hubiese estado mejor pero en general todo en orden. Sofía es una buena actriz de acción, sabe moverse, le dio mucho dinamismo a las escenas. Pero el que para mi se lleva los focos es Ed Skrein, un excelente villano lleno de una maldad burlesca y con ínfulas de grandeza.

Sofia is a good action actress, she knows how to move, she gave a lot of dynamism to the scenes. But the one who for me takes the spotlight is Ed Skrein, an excellent villain full of a burlesque evil and with pretensions of grandeur.

Le doy un 7.5/10. No es lo mejor de Snyder pero es algo que vale la pena ver. En líneas generales está muy bien hecha y pinta que seguiremos sabiendo más de este nuevo universo. No hay que caer en todo lo que se lee, veanla y disfrutenla, honestamente no es tan mala como la están pintando. Está en Netflix y dura un poco más de 2 horas. Les dejo el tráiler por acá.

I give it a 7.5/10. It's not Snyder's best but it's something worth seeing. Overall it's very well made and it looks like we will continue to learn more about this new universe. Don't fall for everything you read, watch it and enjoy it, honestly it's not as bad as it's being painted. It's on Netflix and lasts a little over 2 hours. I leave the trailer here.

Esta película la estaba esperando desde que me enteré que se hacía, sin embargo cuando leí un poco más de la trama no me cautivó por completo pero por ser del espacio, ciencia ficción y después de leer tu opinión, definitivamente le daré una oportunidad

Es una película que está dando de que hablar. En lo personal me gustó, visualmente es increíble, la trama donde más de lo mismo pero se deja ver. El clon de Star Wars leí por ahí.

La tengo lista para ver, pero como se atravesó la navidad, la postergo hasta n par de días. Quizás escriba mi post luego de verla. he visto en twitter que la han destrozado, pero creo que es un movimiento de los haters de Snyder. Por los momentos no quiero emitir opinión sin verla.

Es tal cual eso, algo contra Snyder más que con la propia película. Yo me la disfruté, no es mala, tiene sus cosas, si, pero se puede ver perfectamente.
