I bring this question up because it's one I was discussing with some friends, given the failures of these adaptations over time. If you look at many of these films, they've been terrible to watch, despite the immense popularity of anime. The first example is Death Note, one of the most popular anime not only in Japan but worldwide. In 2017, Netflix had the brilliant idea of ​​bringing Light Yagami, the teenager who finds a notebook with the immense power to "real life"—the notebook that causes the person who writes a name on its pages to die. The anime is excellent; it's a true gem, mainly because of its plot and the way it's developed.

El anime es muy bueno, es una verdadera joya básicamente por su trama y por la forma en cómo la desarrollan.

Este es un ejemplo de que estos live action no son cosa nueva y es que este tiene más de 30 años de estrenado ya que esta joya de anime es de los años 80, uno que les recomiendo porque la verdad es muy bueno. La gracia de esta historia es Kenshiro quien con sus puños puede matar a sus enemigos pegándoles en puntos específicos.

This film is terrible because of its simplicity, the poor quality of its scenes, and the abysmal acting. But to top it all off and talk about tragic things, nothing compares to the live-action Saint Seiya. It's true that this film is somewhat faithful to Seiya's personality and what he seeks in life, but they also changed many things, such as character names, there's an enemy completely foreign to the story (a corporation), and it's much less violent than the anime. It didn't convince me at all. Just another waste of time and money.

Muchos dirán que por el año en el que se hizo, 1995, era complicado pedir algo más pero les recuerdo que apenas 1 año después se hizo Dia de la Independencia, por poner un ejemplo y fue y sigue siendo espectacular. Este film es terrible por lo simple que es, la mala calidad que exhibe en sus escenas y por el nivel de actuación tan pobre que hay. Pero para ir cerrando con broche de oro y hablar de cosas trágicas nada como el live action de los Caballeros del Zodiaco (Saint Seiya). Cierto es que este film es ligeramente fiel en como es la personalidad de Seiya y lo que busca en la vida pero de igual forma cambiaron muchas cosas como nombres de personajes, hay un enemigo totalmente ajeno a la historia (una corporación) y es mucho menos violenta que el anime. No fue algo que me convenciera en lo absoluto. Otra pérdida de tiempo y dinero más.

i have this same problem with a lot of the action and shonen based adaptations but if you look at the shoujo side of making anime adaptations, it's not so far from both manga and anime. i think the problem is the budget and that back when the death note and dbz came out, the live actions weren't as appreciated as it is now. even kakegurui had such a terrible live action 😩😩 but like, the big franchises like one piece, the live action ain't too bad

Buah, me hiciste recordar uno de mis mayores traumas que viví en mi preadolescencia y juventud: Dragon Ball Evolution. Una completa basura audiovisual, ahora que la recuerdo bien, lamentablemente. Quién diría que esa película salió a la luz y todo en cines por todo el mundo, sobre todo en Hollywood. Mientras que el proyecto animado de Batman Future que propusieron los creadores del Spider-Verse no salió nunca a la luz. En fin, por estas cosas es que pienso que Hollywood es un completo chiste.

Buena lista, por cierto. Me hiciste valorar más lo que está intentando hacer Netflix ahora con Live Actions como One Piece o Avatar: The Last Airbender. 🤔
