Once again I come to talk about a movie that I am quite fond of and I saw it recently even though it was released some time ago. It is well known about Adam Sandler's career in his cinematography with ups and downs in his career and many different critics that most of them are negative because of his absurd humor, let me tell you that Garra is a movie that goes beyond humor, it is a special Adam Sandler's movie that I have a lot to talk about.
Stanley is an NBA coach who is looking for a basketball player who can play defense for the Philadelphia 76ers. This objective leads him to travel around the world in search of the ideal player, whom he finds in the streets of Spain.
While it is not the best synopsis I have ever given for a movie, it describes well the intention of the same for Stanley's search that is not only to find the player with adequate physical conditions and impressive skills, no, because there is still much to make that player a professional player, physical conditions, reflexes and be prepared for any situation that may occur during a game. With this gentlemen, we are presented with a player with extraordinary skills, Bo Cruz.
We are introduced to Bo as a passionate basketball player, low income and a family to take care of at all costs, at first with little desire to follow Stanley's plan to play basketball at the professional level, despite all this Stanley does everything possible to motivate him. The motivational moments of the movie I enjoyed as never before of course, Adam Sandler's performance was essential in those moments combining jokes, insults and of course advice that helps Bo to move forward. Although there is something that lowers the motivation to both just at the beginning of the movie and it was Vincent's arrogance in finding a player himself and ignoring Bo's talent. Therefore, Stanley being the best motivator in the world decides to quit the team just to train Bo totally independent and take him to stardom.
The whole movie is incredible, it makes you want to run for a nearby hill and think about how Bo was constantly improving himself, without immediate effects but quickly because of the attention that Stanley gave him and the constancy of his exercises, simply sensational. Of course, it wasn't all Stan's motivation because remember that Bo has a low-income family, so abandoning the plan just from one day to the next was not a decision he would take just because unless he had a strong personal reason for a bad experience or something like that. This is how we can see how well this movie works under this logic, because Bo has a problem and an opportunity, an opportunity that Stanley gives in the beginning because of his work as a scout for the 76ers although... After resigning from the 76ers he could simply give it all up and return Bo to Spain. So why did he continue? We realize here, it was because of the spark he saw in Bo and that he should not waste.
And of course we realize it in the film, because Stanley does everything to keep Bo with him and take him higher and higher, no matter how difficult the situation is, so he even makes a challenge to make Bo famous from the networks and capture the media attention and even from the big teams, by bad luck, he fails to qualify due to an incident regarding Bo's serious reaction to one of the players.
Despite all that they can train and improve physically, there will always be something that will cause problems for those who are more affected by the words, the psychological factor within a match, booing and insults from other players is from my point of view something that must be difficult to deal with, just ignore all that is a complicated task and is something that Bo must learn to do, he must learn to become an iceberg and not be affected by anything that is said to him on the court. With this, a last chance for a private match arises just as Bo was catching a flight back to Spain, for which they rush to the match and Stanley gives his last motivational message before Bo started playing: "They can't kill you if you're already dead".
The end of the movie took me by surprise even though it is still a happy ending, it was sensational and the whole movie is a complete enjoyment, do not take my eyes off the movie mostly because of how nice it is to see Bo improve as a player and Stanley do everything possible for Bo to emerge as a player, it is a nice message that the movie brings, it is not only to move forward, but to strive to advance more and more towards success. Una vez mas vengo a hablar de una película a la cual le tome bastante cariño y la vi hace poco a pesar de que se estreno hace un tiempo. Ya bien se sabe del recorrido de Adam Sandler en sus cinematografía con altibajos en su carrera y muchas criticas diversas que la mayoría se tratan de criticas negativas debido a su humor absurdo, déjame decirte desde ya que Garra es una película que va mas allá del humor, es una película especial de Adam Sandler de la cual tengo bastante por hablar.
Stanley es un entrenador de la NBA que esta en busca de un jugador de basquet que pueda jugar como defensa para el equipo de los 76ers de Philadelphia. Este objetivo lo lleva a viajar por todo el mundo en busca del jugador ideal, al cual encuentra por las calles de España.
Si bien no es la mejor sinopsis que he dado para una pelicula, describe bien la intencion de la misma por la busqueda de Stanley que no solamente es encontrar al jugador de condiciones fisicas adecuadas y habilidades impresionantes, no, porque aun queda mucho para hacer de ese jugador un jugador profesional, condiciones fisicas, reflejos y estar preparado para cualquier situacion que pueda ocurrir durante un partido. Con esto señores, se nos presenta un jugador con habilidades extraordinarias, Bo Cruz.
Se nos presenta a Bo como un jugador apasionado por el basquet, de bajos recursos y una familia por cuidar a toda costa, en un principio con pocas ganas de seguir el plan de Stanley para jugar basquet a nivel profesional, a pesar de todo esto Stanley hace todo lo posible para motivarlo. Los momentos de motivacion de la pelicula los disfrute como nunca por supuesto, la actuacion de Adam Sandler fue escencial en esos momentos combinando chistes, insultos y por supuesto consejos que ayudan a Bo a seguir adelante. Aunque hay algo que baja la motivacion a ambos tan solo en el inicio de la pelicula y era la arrogancia de Vincent al encontrar un jugador el tambien e ignorar el talento de Bo. Por eso mismo, Stanley siendo el mejor motivador del mundo decide renunciar al equipo solamente para entrenar a Bo totalmente independiente y llevarlo al estrellato.
Toda la pelicula es increible, te dan ganas de salir corriendo por una colina cercana y ponerte a pensar en como Bo se superaba constantemente, sin efectos inmediatos pero rapidos por la atencion que le daba Stanley y la constancia de sus ejercicios, sencillamente sensacional. Por supuesto, no todo era la motivacion de Stan pues recordemos que Bo tiene una familia de bajos recursos, asi que abandonar el plan simplemente de un dia para otro no era una decision que tomaria solo porque si a no ser de que tenga una razon fuertemente personal por una mala experiencia o algo por el estilo. Es asi como podemos observar lo bien que funciona esta pelicula bajo esta logica, pues Bo tiene un problema y una oportunidad, una oportunidad que da Stanley en un principio por su trabajo como cazatalentos para los 76ers aunque... Luego de haber renunciado a los 76ers el simplemente pudo dar todo por vencido y devolver a Bo a España ¿Entonces por que siguio? Nos damos cuenta aqui, que fue por la chispa que vio en Bo y que no debe desperdiciar.
Y por supuesto nos damos cuenta de ello en el film, pues Stanley hace de todo por mantener consigo a Bo y llevarlo cada vez mas arriba por mas dificil que sea la situacion, por lo que hace hasta un challenge para hacer famoso a Bo desde las redes y captar la atencion mediatica y asi mismo de los grandes equipos, por mala suerte, el no logra clasificar debido a un incidente con respecto a la grave reaccion de Bo hacia uno de los jugadores.
A pesar de todo lo que puedan entrenar y mejorar fisicamente, habra algo que siempre causara problemas a los que mas le afectan las palabras, el factor psicologico dentro de un partido, abucheos e insultos de otros jugadores es desde mi punto de vista algo que debe ser dificil de tratar, simplemente ignorar todo eso es una tarea complicada y es algo que Bo debe aprender a hacer, debe aprender a volverse un iceberg y hacer que no le afecte nada de lo que se le dice estando en la cancha. Con esto, surge una ultima oportunidad de un partido privado justo en el momento que Bo tomaba un vuelo para volver a España, por el cual van apresurados al partido y Stanley da su ultimo mensaje motivacional antes de que bo empezara a jugar: "No pueden matarte si ya estás muerto".
El final de la película me tomó de sorpresa a pesar de seguir siendo un final feliz, fue sensacional y la película entera es de disfrute completo, no aparte mi vista de la película más que todo por lo bonito que es ver a Bo mejorar como jugador y a Stanley hacer todo lo posible por que Bo surja como jugador, es un bonito mensaje el que trae la película, no es solo seguir adelante, sino luchar por avanzar cada vez más hacia el éxito. Es una película que he visto mucho por acá han reseñado, pero no he visto. Quizás me animé para ver a Adam Sandler. Mis pensamientos de comedia se retrotraen.
Por cierto, el tema de la formación y el deporte es interesante. :P

A mi me gustó muchísimo, Sandler es brillante y el drama se le da muy bien, aparte, la cantidad de cameos del deporte que tienen son geniales 😅
