I'm really enjoying this HBO miniseries. A murder, the police solving the crime, plot twists, sex, dating apps, infidelity, and good humor make this story quite engaging. I had no idea what to expect since I hadn't seen the trailer. I decided to watch the four episodes that have aired so far because of the cast.

According to an article I read in Esquire magazine, the story is inspired by a true event, but that's about it. The creator only used the case of a dentist accused of murdering his best friend as inspiration, but that's the only thing it has in common with the miniseries, which is entirely fictional. Also, here the main suspect isn't a dentist; he's a TV weatherman.

The story begins with a murder, and we follow the detectives: the veteran chief, who has to work with a young woman. She's quite intelligent and senses that there's more to the case. From there, we see in flashbacks how Clark and Floyd became friends and, of course, how Carlo, Floyd's wife, begins an affair, turning everything into a love triangle with many secrets.

The best thing for me is the chemistry between Jason Bateman and David Harbour. Incredible! Their interactions provide so many emotional and funny moments. This series has a lot of humor, despite focusing on a crime and its investigation; there are many moments that I find hilarious. I'm not a big fan of David Harbour, but I must admit he's wonderful here. How can you not like him? His character is great. You almost want to give him a hug and rub his big belly.

Everything is revealed little by little, and as viewers, we also witness the revelations. Everyone has secrets, and this trio of characters has quite a few. Bateman does a good job, although he's not very similar to other characters he's played. He doesn't disappoint. His sexual fantasies are quite funny, and although he betrays his best friend by sleeping with Carol, deep down you can tell he also cares about him. Isn't that complicated? He cares about his friend, but he sleeps with his wife.

The miniseries has seven episodes, and at the time of writing, four have aired, so the end is near. It's the final stretch, and so far it hasn't disappointed me. On the contrary, I already include it among my favorite miniseries of the year. I know we still have to see how everything is resolved, but if it maintains this pace and remains entertaining until the end, it's one of the best I've seen, and I'm surprised it's not generating more buzz.

I'm starting to get an idea of ​​who the killer might be, but I hope the screenwriter surprises me.

No tenía ni idea de qué esperar, ya que no había visto el tráiler. Decidí ver los cuatro episodios que se han emitido hasta ahora, por el reparto.

No soy muy fan de David Harbour, pero debo admitir que está maravilloso aquí. ¿Cómo no te va a gustar? Su personaje es genial. Hasta provoca darle un abrazo y sobarle su gran barriga.

Todo se va revelando poco a poco, y como espectadores, también presenciamos las revelaciones. Todos tienen secretos, y este trío de personajes tiene unos cuantos. Bateman hace un buen trabajo, aunque no se parece mucho a otros personajes que ha interpretado. No decepciona. Sus fantasías sexuales son bastante graciosas, y aunque traiciona a su mejor amigo acostándose con Carol, en el fondo se nota que también se preocupa por él. ¿No es complicado? Se preocupa por su amigo, pero se acuesta con su esposa.

La miniserie tiene siete episodios, y al momento de escribir esto, se han emitido cuatro, así que el final está cerca. Es la recta final, y hasta ahora no me ha decepcionado. Al contrario, ya la incluyo entre mis miniseries favoritas del año. Sé que aún tenemos que ver cómo se resuelve todo, pero si mantiene el ritmo y sigue siendo entretenida hasta el final, es una de las mejores que he visto y me extraña que no está dando mucho que hablar.

Empiezo a tener una idea de quién podría ser el asesino, pero espero que el guionista me sorprenda.
