There are miniseries so well-made that they deserve to be seen. This is one of them. It took me a while to find it because it wasn't available in its original language with subtitles. When I finally got it the way I wanted, I didn't hesitate to watch it almost straight through. It's from 2022, but it was only a few days ago that I finally got to see this wonderful miniseries.

There are many stories about what is known as the Years of Lead in Italy. I've seen many of them too, because this part of that country's history fascinates me. For example, I remember being deeply moved by a film called Good Morning, Night. That film from the early 2000s was one of my favorites about the kidnapping and subsequent murder of Aldo Moro.

There's a film and a series that are also among my favorites about the Years of Lead, called Romanzo Crimilae. I recommend them as well. The Cosa Nostra, rampant crime, the Red Brigades, Propaganda Due, political conspiracies, even CIA interference. There's a lot surrounding the kidnapping of Aldo Moro, and this miniseries covers much of what happened, both the real events and what remains unknown.

It's directed by Marco Bellocchio, a filmmaker with a long and distinguished career and excellent productions. By the way, I just finished watching another miniseries that also delves into that turbulent period in Italy. It's called Portbello, it's from this year, and I'll write a post about it another time.

The story covers the 55 days the country was gripped by the kidnapping of Aldo Moro. An event that fractured and further weakened the political situation, severely impacting the Christian Democrats. Many questions arise, including how people who were once friends of Aldo Moro through the political party even turned their backs on him, like Andreotti, a figure who would later wield considerable power in those countries.

The cinematography is superb; during these episodes, we travel back in time and feel immersed in that era. Likewise, the acting is top-notch. Fabrizio Gifuni brings Aldo Moro to life. An excellent actor, who also stars in Portobello. One of my favorite Italian actors also appears here: the great Toni Servillo, who plays Pope Paul VI, a friend of Aldo Moro.

Hay miniseries tan bien hechas que merecen ser vistas. Esta es una de ellas. Tardé un tiempo en verla porque no estaba disponible en su idioma original con subtítulos. Cuando por fin la conseguí como quería, no dudé en verla casi de corrido. Es de 2022, pero fue hace solo unos días que finalmente pude ver esta maravillosa miniserie.

Hay muchas historias sobre lo que se conoce como los Años de Plomo en Italia. Yo también he visto muchas, porque esta parte de la historia de ese país me fascina. Por ejemplo, recuerdo que me encantó y me impactó mucho una película llamada Buenos días, noche. Esa película de principios de los 2000 fue una de las que más me gustó sobre el secuestro y posterior asesinato de Aldo Moro.

Hay una película y una serie que también están entre mis favoritas sobre los Años de Plomo, se llama Romanzo Crimilae. También las recomiendo. La Cosa Nostra, el crimen desenfrenado, las Brigadas Rojas, la Propaganda Due, conspiraciones políticas, incluso la injerencia de la CIA. Hay mucho en torno al secuestro de Aldo Moro, y esta miniserie abarca gran parte de todo lo sucedido, tanto los hechos reales como lo que aún se desconoce.

La dirige Marco Bellocchio, un cineasta con una larga y distinguida trayectoria y excelentes producciones. Por cierto, acabo de terminar de ver otra miniserie donde también profundiza en ese turbulento período de Italia. La cinematografía es fabulosa; durante estos episodios, viajamos al pasado y nos sentimos inmersos en esa época. Asimismo, las actuaciones son de primer nivel. Fabrizio Gifuni da vida a Aldo Moro. Un excelente actor, que también protagoniza Portobello. Aquí también participa uno de mis actores italianos favoritos: el gran Toni Servillo, quien interpreta al Papa Pablo VI, amigo de Aldo Moro.
