Siganme, que no los voy a defraudar.
This time, it seems I was right. The six-episode miniseries about Menem does not disappoint. I watched it in a single day; it was impossible to stop. As soon as one episode ended, I wanted to watch the next one immediately. I understand that many Argentines who lived through the 1990s and Menem's administrations may not be very eager to see it. I feel the same way when a production about my country's politics is released.
For an Argentine, this series may not be very entertaining, depending on their political leanings. From a foreigner's perspective, I loved the series. It's very entertaining. When I saw the trailer, I suspected it would have a surreal comedic tone, and it does. To tackle the life of such a unique Argentine president, they had to do it from a crazy perspective.
The editing is incredible. Each episode is like the journey the real president took in the Ferrari he was given. Speed and adrenaline. Excellent editing that keeps us on the edge of our seats in every episode. The producer and creator of the miniseries is Mariano Valera, an Argentine businessman and writer known for being a marketing genius. This undoubtedly helped him assemble the team to capture this incredible story, whose reality surpasses fiction.
Leonardo Sbaraglia is the protagonist. He plays Menem. Good makeup work and the attractive actor transform him into that ugly creature. I've seen some comments from Argentinians saying that he does a poor job of imitating the Riojano accent. I can't comment on that because I'm not familiar with Argentinian accents. From my perspective as an outsider, the 1990s setting, the costumes, the makeup, and the tone of the series won me over.
Esta vez parece que si tenía razón. La miniserie de seis episodios sobre Menem no defrauda. La vi en un solo día; era imposible parar. Tan pronto como terminaba un episodio, quería ver el siguiente inmediatamente. Entiendo que muchos argentinos que vivieron la década de los noventa y los gobiernos de Menem quizá no estén muy ansiosos por verla. Yo siento lo mismo cuando se estrena una producción sobre la política de mi país.
Para un argentino, esta serie puede no ser muy divertida, dependiendo de sus inclinaciones políticas. Desde la perspectiva de un extranjero, me encantó la serie. Es muy divertida. Cuando vi el tráiler, sospeché que tendría un tono cómico surrealista, y así es. Para abordar la vida de un presidente argentino tan singular, tenían que hacerlo desde una perspectiva loca.
La edición es increíble. Cada episodio es como el viaje que realizó el presidente real en el Ferrari que le regalaron. Velocidad y adrenalina. Una edición excelente, que nos agita en cada episodio. El productor y creador de la miniserie es Mariano Valera, un empresario y escritor argentino conocido por ser un genio del marketing. Sin duda, esto le ayudó a reunir al equipo para capturar esta increíble historia, cuya realidad supera a la ficción.

Desde mi perspectiva de forastero, el escenario de los años 90, el vestuario, el maquillaje y el tono de la serie me convencieron.

There is no denying that Menem managed to seduce the Argentine people. He did what he had to do to win, and they re-elected him. His arrogance, his sense of being predestined, the new incarnation of an old hero of that country, but he also left much to be desired. In my country, we have also had leaders like that. Populists, because that is what that man was. A populist. What they show in the miniseries, I also saw in real cases in my country. People will always fall into the traps set by politicians. In the end, we are a bunch of idiots who constantly bring to power the people who are going to ruin our lives.
Menem was a scoundrel. I have no doubt about that. Corrupt. Him, his friends, his family. Just because I like the series doesn't mean I like the real Menem, but we can't hide the fact that he was a seducer of the masses. Not only that, he was also a seducer of women. He liked to be the center of attention, the show, to have fun. To enjoy life and, of course, women. What did they see in him? The guy was with women who were beautiful for the time (now they're old). Some openly said they had affairs with Menem, others kept quiet, but the rumors exist. Even the current president's girlfriend had something with Menem. Yuyito. Well, that woman has had too many affairs with powerful men. That's what they saw in Menem. Power. Power attracts. You can be very ugly, but if you have power, many beautiful women will spread their legs for you. It's been that way since the beginning of time.

Ariel Winograd es el director y guionista. De su carrera, solo he visto la película sobre el robo del sigo con Francella. Tiene experiencia en vídeos musicales y ha realizado varias comedias, no solo en Argentina, sino también en México. En esta miniserie, dirige de forma muy convincente, utilizando el drama y la locura de la presidencia de Menem para ofrecernos momentos e imágenes disparatados y divertidos.
No se puede negar que Menem logró seducir al pueblo argentino. Hizo lo que tenía que hacer para ganar, y lo reeligieron. Su arrogancia, su sensación de estar predestinado, la nueva encarnación de un viejo héroe de ese país, pero también dejó mucho que desear. En mi país también hemos tenido líderes así. Populistas, porque eso es lo que era ese hombre. Un populista. Lo que muestran en la miniserie, también lo vi en casos reales en mi país. La gente siempre caerá en las trampas que tienden los políticos. Al final, somos un montón de idiotas que constantemente llevamos al poder a las personas que nos van a arruinar la vida.
Menem era un sinvergüenza. No tengo ninguna duda al respecto. Corrupto. Él, sus amigos, su familia. Que me guste la serie no significa que me guste el Menem real, pero no podemos ocultar el hecho de que era un seductor de las masas. No solo eso, también era un seductor de mujeres. Le gustaba ser el centro de atención, el espectáculo, divertirse. Disfrutar de la vida y, por supuesto, de las mujeres. ¿Qué veían en él? El tipo estaba con mujeres que eran hermosas para la época (ahora son viejas). Algunas dijeron abiertamente que tuvieron aventuras con Menem, otras guardaron silencio, pero los rumores existen. Incluso la novia del actual presidente tuvo algo con Menem. Yuyito. Bueno, esa mujer ha tenido demasiadas aventuras con hombres poderosos. Eso es lo que veían en Menem. Poder. El poder atrae. Puedes ser muy feo, pero si tienes poder, muchas mujeres hermosas te abrirán las piernas. Ha sido así desde el principio de los tiempos.

Definitivamente lo que tenía Menem y tuvo antes de ser electo fue un gran trabajo de marketing, te lo aseguro, eso fue lo que convenció a la gente, luego bueno, los terminó de conquistar con la ley de la convertibilidad. Aunque todo fuera una gran ilusión. Era un gran actor frente a las cámaras, se llevaba bien con todos y se reía de todo... conquistó a la gente, labia, eso tenía jajaja... no sé si la veré... no sé jajaja
Eso si te dejo un video para que juzgues el acento, le falta un poco, un poco de práctica, pero en general los personajes los veo bien caracterizados. Gracias por esta reseña es genial! Gracias JC.
Total. Supo hacer un gran trabajo de marketing. Se supo vender y su personalidad lo ayudo a ser tan popular. Estaba viendo una entrevista a uno de su sex ministros y el hombre se emocionaba hablando de Menem.
El tipo era todo un personaje.
Los feos tenemos que usar la labia y otros trucos para ligar. Claro, hombres con poder como los que el tuvo, facilita conquistar chicas, así sean por interés, el hombre solo le interesa algo. jajaja cuando veo gente criticando a Sugar Daddys con sus chicas jóvenes me causa gracia.
El Sugar sabe que la joven esta pro su dinero, por interés. Eso no importa. El Sugar quiere es pasarla ben. Así pasa con los poderosos, saben que estan pro interés y usan ese pode para quedar satisfecho. Al menos Menem no ocultaba dárselas de seductor y que le gustaban las minas. En cambio el Alberto Ángel Fernández , ese asqueroso se las daba de feminista y tal, resulta que le daba palos a le mujer y un putero de primera. En esos caso prefiero a Menem. Y no se, todo lo que vino después de Menem parece que fue peor 😆

Era un hombre bien feo, pero muy inteligente, vale mucho más eso, lo que pasa es que usó esa inteligencia para cegar a la gente pero lo hizo bien... estoy esperando tu reseña del Eternauta que también vi... quiero esa reseña!!
El Eternauta no creo que haga review. Es muy buena también, pero no me motiva a decir nada de ella. Quizás cuando hagan la próxima temporada
