I finally got to see Michael, the biopic about the King of Pop, which has been a resounding box office success. There are artists who transcend time, and of course, Michael Jackson was already known as one of those eternal stars. Loved by millions of people around the world, even young people who were babies when he died listen to him and admire him.

This has been more than proven by the astronomical figures the film has grossed and all the fervor that has followed its release. I had my reservations, my doubts; I wasn't sure if I would like it. For example, I detest the Freddie Mercury biopic; it was a film I didn't like, and I made that clear in the review I wrote at the time.

But Michael, I really liked it. It's true that there are parts where you can tell they had to re-edit. It's no secret, and news has already come out, that there are conflicts and vested interests, so some parts of the film had to be reshot and some material had to be cut during editing. Even Michael's daughter didn't participate in the promotional campaign because she disagreed with some of the lies being told.

We mere mortals, who only knew the Jacksons through television images, music videos, concerts, etc., will never know everything that really happened within that family. Many criticized Michael's daughter, but as we know, we live in an era where everyone has an opinion about everything. She surely knows things her father told her about his relationship with his brothers, etc.

The biopic manages to bring to life aspects of Michael's career, from his beginnings with his brothers in The Jackson 5 to becoming the biggest music star in history. While it does veer into melodrama, the most interesting aspect, and what the film is really about, is Michael's relationship with his father, who is portrayed here as a monstrous being, full of greed and who mistreated his children, especially Michael.

Critics and some viewers have criticized the film for not addressing controversial aspects of Michael's life, but it doesn't delve into the most difficult period of his career and personal life. It tells the story of how Michael manages to break free from his father's control and begins his independence as an artist and as a person. And I thought the decision to only cover a part of his extensive career was a good one; besides, if they had included everything, it would have been three hours longer.

There will be a sequel, and we'll see all the details that the public's morbid curiosity wanted to see. Well, I think so. I haven't read anything official, but seeing the film's box office figures, they're not going to let this opportunity pass them by and they're going to make more money. Of course they will. I'm sure they'll make another film about Michael.

I thought the actor's nephew was good, and in the musical and dance scenes, his work really stood out. The fact that the father of the young man who plays Michael was one of his brothers, with whom he had many problems, or that one of his sisters didn't want her character to appear in the film, none of that matters. The public, the audience, spoke out and supported the film. They loved it; the box office numbers speak for themselves.

I was satisfied. Watching those musical numbers reminds me of when I saw the "Thriller" video on TV. Wow! Michael Jackson is a legend, a superstar, and yes, I was very critical of his physical transformation and laughed at videos like Eminem's where he mocked him, but it's undeniable that he was a musical phenomenon who will live forever in history.

Muchos criticaron a la hija de Michael, pero como sabemos, vivimos en una época donde cualquiera tiene una opinión sobre todo. Seguramente ella conoce cosas que su padre le contó sobre su relación con sus hermanos, etc.

La película biográfica logra revivir aspectos de la carrera de Michael, desde sus inicios con sus hermanos en The Jackson 5 hasta convertirse en la mayor estrella de la música de la historia. Si bien cae en cierto melodrama, el aspecto más interesante, y de lo que realmente trata la película, es la relación de Michael con su padre, quien es retratado aquí como un ser monstruoso, lleno de avaricia y que maltrataba a sus hijos, especialmente a Michael.

La crítica y parte del público han criticado que no se aborden temas controvertidos de la vida de Michael, pero la película no llega hasta la etapa más difícil de su carrera y vida personal. Nos cuenta cómo Michael logra liberarse de las garras de su padre y comienza su independencia como artista y como persona. Y me pareció acertada la decisión de contar solo una parte de su extensa carrera; además, si lo hubieran incluido todo, habrían sido tres horas más de película.

Habrá una secuela, y veremos todos los detalles que la morbosa curiosidad del público quería ver. Bueno, eso creo. No he leído nada oficial, pero viendo las cifras de taquilla de la película, no van a dejar pasar esto y van a ganar más dinero. Por supuesto que sí. Estoy seguro de que harán otra película sobre Michael.

El sobrino del actor me pareció bien, y en las escenas musicales y de baile, su trabajo realmente destacó. Que el padre del joven que interpreta a Michel fuera uno de sus hermanos, con quienes tuvo muchos problemas, o que una de sus hermanas no quisiera que su personaje apareciera en la película, nada de eso importa. El público, la audiencia, se pronunció y apoyó la película. Les encantó; la recaudación habla por sí sola.

Quedé satisfecho. Ver esos números musicales me recuerda a cuando vi el video de "Thriller" en la televisión. ¡Guau! Michael Jackson es una leyenda, una superestrella, y sí, critiqué mucho su transformación física y me reí de videos como el de Eminem donde se burlaba de él, pero es innegable que fue un fenómeno musical que vivirá para siempre en la historia.
