The only order that exists is the one we impose.
There are films that, due to unfortunate circumstances, become part of history not for their artistic merits. Such is the case with Rust, a western that could be considered cursed due to the tragedy that occurred during its filming.
Some may ask: Why did they release this movie? Why did they continue filming? It would have been better to bury it! others will exclaim. In the world of entertainment and art, even when tragedy strikes, I believe we must continue. The fatal victim of the incident, according to his own family, was very enthusiastic about his work on the film. I agree that filming should continue and the film should be released. In a way, it is a tribute to the work she was doing.
If you don't know what the tragedy was yet, I'll tell you quickly: during the filming of a scene in which the protagonist Alec Balwind handles a gun, it was loaded with live ammunition and struck the body of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and film director Joel Souza. She died. A tragic event. Balwind was charged with involuntary manslaughter, not only for firing the gun, but also because he was the film's producer.
If you check the actor's social media, you'll see that many people leave negative comments. They call him a murderer and many other things. Many complain that he didn't go to jail. I haven't followed the case, but I know that Hutchins' family filed a lawsuit. I don't know what happened with that. Although I've never liked Balwind very much, for me it was a fatal accident, but I'm not going to criticize him. I think criminal responsibility fell on one of the prop and weapons managers, but I'm not sure. It's not the first time a similar tragedy has occurred on a movie set, so I think safety measures should be increased on sets when real weapons are being handled.

Algunos se preguntarán: ¿Por qué estrenaron esta película? ¿Por qué continuaron rodando? ¡Hubiera sido mejor enterrarla!, exclamarán otros. En el mundo del entretenimiento y el arte, incluso cuando ocurre una tragedia, opino que hay que continuar. La víctima mortal de lo ocurrido, según su propia familia, estaba muy entusiasmada con su trabajo en la película. Estoy de acuerdo en que el rodaje debe continuar y la película debe estrenarse. En cierto modo, es un homenaje al trabajo que estaba realizando.

Now that the film is available, it's time to ask: is it any good? Rust is a low-budget western by Hollywood standards. It has a modest budget. It's not an impressive or memorable western. It's simply a good western to watch on a Sunday afternoon at home. I liked it, and those who enjoy this film genre will have a good time. It's a typical western story, with an antihero gunslinger seeking redemption, a sheriff trying to enforce the law, and an evil bounty hunter.
I don't know who continued the work of the director of photography, but what stands out is the work of the victim of the tragedy that occurred on set. Not because I feel sympathy for the soul of the deceased. In fact, his work deserves to be highlighted because it adds quality to the film. The director's work, despite lengthening the story a bit, has also produced some good sequences that every western should have. I've seen two of his previous films, and he has a knack for thrillers.
As for the performances, none are award-worthy, but most fulfill the roles of common characters within the genre. The young actor who plays Lucas Hollister is quite convincing. Travis Fimmel repeats his crazy gestures; the character of Ragnar is still alive in him, and I think he should look for a different register, but perhaps he is only offered similar roles. Alec Baldwin is adequate. That's all. I don't want to imagine how terrible it must have been for the entire cast to continue filming after the tragedy.
It's a film worth watching. I recommend it to western lovers. It's good for a weekend distraction, even though the shadow of the real tragedy hangs over every frame. As a fan of the seventh art, watching and appreciating the film is a way of paying tribute to someone who, sadly, left us too soon while doing his job.

No es un western impresionante ni memorable. Es simplemente un buen western para ver un domingo por la tarde en casa. A mí me gustó, y aquellos que disfrutan de este género cinematográfico lo pasarán bien. Es una historia típica del western, con un pistolero antihéroe que busca la redención, un sheriff que intenta hacer cumplir la ley y un malvado cazarrecompensas.
No sé quién continuó el trabajo del director de fotografía, pero lo que destaca es el trabajo de la víctima de la tragedia ocurrida en el plató. No porque sienta simpatía por el alma del difunto. De hecho, su trabajo merece ser destacado porque añade calidad a la película. El trabajo del director, a pesar de alargar un poco la historia, también ha producido algunas buenas secuencias que todo western debería tener. He visto dos de sus películas anteriores y tiene buena mano para los thrillers.
En cuanto a las interpretaciones, ninguna es digna de premios, pero la mayoría cumplen con los roles de personajes comunes dentro del género. El joven actor que interpreta a Lucas Hollister es bastante convincente. Travis Fimmel repite sus gestos locos, el personaje de Ragnar sigue vivo en él y creo que debería buscar un registro diferente, pero quizá solo le ofrecen papeles similares. Es una película que vale la pena ver. Se la recomiendo a los amantes del western. Es buena para distraerse un fin de semana, aunque la sombra de la tragedia real se cierne sobre cada fotograma. Como fanático del séptimo arte, ver y apreciar la película es una forma de rendir homenaje a alguien que, lamentablemente, nos dejó demasiado pronto mientras hacía su trabajo.

Es tremendo lo que pasó, pero creo que ha sido un accidente por parte de quien disparó, aunque una negligencia de parte de quien prepara las armas. He escuchado de varias películas donde ocurre esto.
Me hiciste recordar a mi padrino, amaba estas películas. Pienso lo mismo ver este tipo de películas es como un homenaje, lástima los comentarios negativos que le han dado.
