A new spin-off series from Yellowstone, though it's not really connected to it, except that its story unfolds in a different region of Montana, with those beautiful landscapes. This series features many contemplative scenes, allowing us to revel in those beautifully photographed mountain scenery.

So far, I've watched the first three episodes, and one thing is clear: it's unlike any other Taylor Sheridan series, and that's a good thing. Don't expect adventures like in the Yellowstone prequels. There's no struggle between good and evil, no conflicts between powerful characters, no murders. None of that. This time, Sheridan opts for a very intimate family story.

Those expecting another family saga of conflicting interests and bloodshed will be disappointed. After watching these three episodes, I already understand what Sheridan wants to tell me, what he truly wants to convey. In the opening sequence, New York is already presented as a dangerous place, highlighting the contrast between life in the Big Apple, with all the luxuries and privileges a wealthy, city-dwelling family can enjoy, and life in the countryside, on the ranches, where cowboys still live differently.

It's the story of the Clyburn family and how the women of this family, after a tragedy and a loss, must go for the first time to the ranch where the patriarch always spent his vacations, hoping that his wife, his two daughters, and his two granddaughters will dare to leave their comforts and spend time in the place where he felt truly fulfilled.

Stacy Clyburn is the one who knows what to do; she will make a decision that will change her life. She must begin her grieving process, which will make her see things she didn't appreciate before. She will begin to value things that didn't interest her before. Stacy will have to learn to live with her pain and learn from it. This character is played by Michelle Pfeiffer, and she's the best of the female cast.

The rest of the family is unbearable. They're all posh, pretentious, and used to using gold toilets. I can't stand these ridiculous women, but I know they'll change as the episodes and seasons progress. The ones I detest the most are the two girls; they're those rich kids influenced by political correctness. At least I think they represent that stupid generation well.

This clash between the city's wealthy residents and their stay on that ranch without amenities will lead to comical situations. For example, Paige, Stacy's most insufferable daughter, will have to defecate in a rustic toilet that's a septic tank, and funny things will happen. Her husband is another rich, foolish, and spineless puppet, a reflection of the kind of men this culture is creating.

The other Clyburn daughter is Abigail. She's the mother of two insufferable girls, and her life has always been controlled by her wealthy parents. Now, she'll have to take charge of her own life because her mother has lost the man she loved, and many things are about to change. Abigail barely notices a handsome sheriff; she can't stand him and almost takes him to the barn. I think she'll be the one who later learns to love country life when those muscular, macho men give her a taste of the cowboy elixir.

I'm really enjoying the series because of the themes it explores and because it's different from any other series by this creator. I hope they give it a second season. I like its intimate tone, its landscapes, and, of course, Michelle Pfeiffer's performance.

El resto de la familia es insoportable. Son todos pijos, pretenciosos y acostumbrados a usar inodoros de oro. No soporto a estas mujeres ridículas, pero sé que cambiarán a medida que avancen los episodios y las temporadas. Las que más detesto son las dos niñas; son esas niñas ricas influenciadas por la corrección política. Al menos creo que representan bien a esa generación estúpida.

Este choque entre los ricos de la ciudad y su estancia en ese rancho sin comodidades dará lugar a situaciones cómicas. Por ejemplo, Paige, la hija más insoportable de Stacy, tendrá que defecar en un inodoro rústico que es una fosa séptica, y sucederán cosas graciosas. Su marido es otro títere rico, tonto y sin carácter, un reflejo del tipo de hombres que esta cultura está creando.

La otra hija de los Clyburn es Abigail. Es la madre de las dos niñas insoportables, y su vida siempre ha estado controlada por sus padres adinerados. Ahora, tendrá que tomar las riendas de su propia vida porque su madre ha perdido al hombre que amaba, y muchas cosas van a cambiar. Abigail apenas ve a un sheriff guapo; no lo soporta y casi se lo lleva al granero. Creo que será ella quien más adelante aprenda a amar la vida en el campo cuando esos hombres musculosos y machistas le hagan probar el elixir de los vaqueros.

Estoy disfrutando mucho de la serie por el tema que aborda y porque es diferente a cualquier otra serie de este creador. Espero que le den la oportunidad de una segunda temporada. Me gusta su tono íntimo, sus paisajes y, por supuesto, la actuación de Michelle Pfeiffer.
