I try to make most of my posts about movies I've enjoyed, but I come across many that don't meet my expectations or that I simply think are bad. In this case, it's a movie that wasn't very successful at the box office, although it caught my attention when they started promoting it. In my case, for a couple of reasons. The first is that its director is Ben Safdie, one of the Safdie brothers. There are three films he has co-directed with his brother that I love. The other was The Rock's most dramatic performance.

In this sense, I think the film achieves its goal, as it seems that everything possible has been done to get The Rock a place in the awards, as has happened, since he has been nominated for a Golden Globe for best actor, which almost guarantees him an Oscar nomination. Emily Blunt, the actress in the film, has also been nominated in the supporting actress category.

I thought The Rock's performance was good. He strives to convey the dramatic and tormented tone of the character, although the makeup he wears helps him a lot, but it's not a performance that leaves you dazzled. It's true that the scenes between the two actors, who are a couple in the story, with their arguments and fights, are well structured, but I found them very rehearsed, and that's the biggest flaw of the film: it doesn't convey anything.

I was very bored watching it. I got distracted a couple of times because the story is so tedious, and to top it all off, I didn't feel any passion in it, which for me is fatal. If a story fails to hook me, captivate me, and convey some kind of emotion, for me it's the worst. I don't enjoy watching it.

Being set in the world of wrestling, one expects at least a few fights that get our hearts racing, but none of that happens here. The wrestling matches lack the necessary excitement; they are poor, unattractive, and the characters have no charisma.

And I don't care at all what happens to the protagonist, because the character he plays is real, but I don't know who thought that the life of this wrestler would be interesting to the viewer, especially if all you're going to show us are arguments with his wife and his addiction. A drunken fight on a TikTok video is more entertaining than the ones recreated in this movie.

The movie lasts about two hours, which is excessive for what it tells, and I found the pace very uneven. It doesn't help the story; on the contrary, it makes it ideal for a sleepless night. Fifteen minutes of this movie will really cure your insomnia.

And as I said in my post about the Golden Globes, this movie is crap. It will make you sleepy. I watched the whole thing because I'm a bit of a masochist and wasted my time. I wouldn't recommend it, but even if I think a movie is bad, I suggest readers watch it for themselves and form their own opinion. For me, this story is not interesting at all, it's weak, it doesn't convey any emotion. Not even the most die-hard fans of The Rock will like this disaster.

La primera es que su director es Ben Safdie, uno de los hermanos Safdie. Hay tres películas que ha codirigido con su hermano que me encantan. La otra fue la interpretación más dramática de The Rock.

En este sentido, creo que la película logra su objetivo, ya que parece que se ha hecho todo lo posible para que The Rock tenga un lugar en los premios, como ha sucedido, ya que ha sido nominado al Globo de Oro al mejor actor, lo que casi le garantiza una nominación al Oscar. Emily Blunt, la actriz de la película, también ha sido nominada en la categoría de actriz de reparto.

Me pareció que la interpretación de The Rock fue buena. Se esfuerza por transmitir el tono dramático y atormentado del personaje, aunque el maquillaje que lleva le ayuda mucho, pero no es una interpretación que te deje deslumbrado. Es cierto que las escenas entre los dos actores, que son pareja en la historia, con sus discusiones y peleas, están bien estructuradas, pero me parecieron muy ensayadas, y ese es el mayor defecto de la película: no transmite nada.

Me aburrí mucho viéndola. Me distraje un par de veces porque la historia es muy tediosa y, para colmo, no sentí ninguna pasión en ella, lo que para mí es fatal. Si una historia no me engancha, me cautiva y me transmite algún tipo de emoción, para mí es lo peor. No disfruto viéndola.

Al estar ambientada en el mundo de la lucha libre, uno espera al menos algunas peleas que nos aceleren el corazón, pero aquí no ocurre nada de eso. Los combates de lucha libre carecen de la emoción necesaria; son pobres, poco atractivos y los personajes no tienen carisma.

Y no me importa en absoluto lo que le pase al protagonista, porque el personaje que interpreta es real, pero no sé quién pensó que la vida de este luchador sería interesante para el espectador, sobre todo si lo único que nos va a mostrar son discusiones con su mujer y su adicción. Una pelea de borrachos en un vídeo de TikTok es más entretenida que las que se recrean en esta película.

La película dura unas dos horas, lo cual es excesivo para lo que cuenta, y el ritmo me pareció muy desigual. No ayuda a la historia; al contrario, la hace ideal para una noche de insomnio. Quince minutos de esta película curarán tu insomnio.

Y como dije en mi publicación sobre los Globos de Oro, esta película es una mierda. Te dará sueño. La vi entera porque soy un poco masoquista y perdí el tiempo. No la recomendaría, pero aunque piense que una película es mala, sugiero a los lectores que la vean por sí mismos y se formen su propia opinión. Para mí, esta historia no es nada interesante, es débil, no transmite ninguna emoción. Ni siquiera a los fans más acérrimos de The Rock les gustará este desastre.
