Well, The Boys series has ended, but not its universe; they'll keep releasing spin-offs, of that we can be sure. The series was a success, although its finale seems to have received a barrage of criticism. As is often the case with many productions, endings and definitive conclusions of a story generate debate, and many didn't like it.

I think the ending adapted well to the comic's conclusion. That is, important things happened, like the death of the main villain and, of course, the death of the protagonist who, in the comic, loses his mind and wants to destroy everyone. Perhaps that madness is more readily perceived in the comic, and in the series it didn't quite move me.

I don't think the problem is the ending itself. It's that the series felt somewhat exhausted since the previous season. In my case, I no longer watched it with as much enthusiasm, and what once seemed innovative didn't seem the same to me now. The jokes and the sexual or scatological humor no longer amused me as much. Perhaps that's one of the problems with the series in general, but there's another issue that, for me, is what ultimately became tedious.

I think it was around the third season when the show's creators, infected by their anti-Trump obsession, turned the program into a form of anti-Trump propaganda. The similarities between Homelander and their view of Trump were already too obvious. And this isn't unique to this series; for example, the new Daredevil series also uses current political events in the United States to create an anti-Trump pamphlet.

Okay, as a series creator, you can have your left-leaning political ideologies, but if you completely distort a character like Homelander, turning him into a reflection of how you want your country's citizens to perceive their president, you completely affect the story and you're going to make mistakes, which, in my opinion, is what happened and why so many people are bothered by the ending. I mean, it's not a bad ending, it's how they deceived us and what they changed for their propaganda.

Anyway, this won't stop them from continuing to exploit The Boys universe. I don't know if the Generation V spin-off will get a third season. I watched the second season out of inertia; it's another series that started well, but its impactful scenes lost their impact. By the way, these guys appear in this season of The Boys, but they don't contribute anything. Why on earth do they include these spin-off characters if what they do isn't important?

Sage's ending also seemed incredibly pathetic to me. She goes from being the smartest person in the world—though I found it hard to believe, I couldn't stand that character—to the dumbest one. Is she in her bunker picking her nose? I don't know, and I don't care. A character who shouldn't have existed in the series.

I finished the series and felt nothing. It left me quite indifferent. It wasn't like with other series that leave me with a hangover or even a bad taste in my mouth when they end. Anyway, as I said, the universe will continue; they've already released a trailer for a spin-off set in the past, like a prequel, when Soldier Boy was the toughest. I'll watch it to pass the time, but if they also turn it into anti-Trump propaganda, they're going to completely ruin it.

Creo que el final se adaptó bien al final del cómic. Es decir, ocurrieron cosas importantes, como la muerte del principal villano y, por supuesto, la muerte del protagonista que, en el cómic, pierde la cabeza y quiere destruir a todos. Quizás esa locura se percibe mejor en el cómic, y en la serie no me conmovió del todo.

No creo que el problema sea el final en sí. Es que la serie se sentía algo agotada desde la temporada anterior. En mi caso, ya no la veía con tanto entusiasmo, ni lo que antes me parecía innovador me parecía igual ahora. Los chistes y las cosas sexuales o escatológicas ya no me divertían tanto. Quizás ahí radica uno de los problemas de la serie en general, pero hay otro que, para mí, es lo que finalmente se volvió tedioso.

Creo que fue más o menos después de la tercera temporada cuando los creadores de la serie, contagiados por su obsesión anti-Trump, convirtieron el programa en una forma de propaganda anti-Trump. Las similitudes entre Homelander y su visión de Trump ya eran demasiado obvias. Y esto no es algo exclusivo de esta serie; por ejemplo, la nueva serie de Daredevil también utiliza eventos políticos actuales en Estados Unidos para crear un panfleto anti-Trump.

Está bien, como creador de una serie puedes tener tus ideologías políticas de izquierda, pero si distorsionas por completo a un personaje como Homelander, convirtiéndolo en un reflejo de cómo quieres que los ciudadanos de tu país perciban a tu presidente, afectas totalmente la historia y vas a cometer errores, que, en mi opinión, es lo que sucedió y por lo que a tanta gente le molesta el final. O sea, no es un mal final, es cómo nos engañaron y qué cambiaron por su propaganda.

En fin, esto no les impedirá seguir explotando el universo de The Boys. El spin-off de la Generación V, no sé si tendrá una tercera temporada. Vi la segunda temporada por inercia; es otra serie que empezó bien, pero sus escenas impactantes dejaron de serlo. Por cierto, estos tipos aparecen en esta temporada de The Boys, pero no aportan nada. ¿Por qué demonios incluyen a estos personajes del spin-off si lo que hacen no es importante?

El final de Sage también me pareció increíblemente patético. Deja de ser la persona más inteligente del mundo, aunque me costó creerlo, no soportaba a ese personaje, y terminan convirtiéndola en la más tonta. ¿Está en su búnker hurgándose la nariz? No lo sé y me da igual. Un personaje que no debería haber existido en la serie.

Terminé la serie y no sentí nada. Me dejó bastante indiferente. No me pasó como con otras series, que me dejan con resaca e incluso con un mal sabor de boca cuando terminan. En fin, como ya dije, el universo continuará; ya lanzaron un tráiler de un spin-off ambientado en el pasado, como una precuela, cuando Soldier Boy era el más rudo. Lo veré para pasar el rato, pero si además lo convierten en propaganda anti-Trump, lo van a arruinar por completo.

No me pareció un mal final; simplemente cuestiono algunas decisiones, pero esas ya eran consecuencia de problemas de temporadas anteriores. ¿Qué te pareció? ¿Bueno o malo?
