It's over. It's finally over. This third and final season took a long time to film, there were problems, and it shows in the story. It aired approximately four years after the second season. Of course, Sam Levinson brought us the failed series The Idol during that time, which was utter garbage. I already gave my opinion on that show when it premiered; for me, it was a complete disappointment, and the worst part was that unbearable singer called The Weeknd.

Euphoria began as an innovative, provocative, and shocking series. Scandal was its weapon to attract audiences. The controversy arose due to its high sexual content. I remember social media being flooded with opinions about the scene in which a group of naked men exposed their genitals. All of that, which was provocative for the viewer at the time, now has no effect.

This last season didn't thrill me. What began as a story supposedly portraying a young generation of our time has become a strange pastiche, a mix of genres with some interesting elements, but it feels as if the characters of Euphoria have somehow slipped into the universe of another story: a crime thriller, complete with drug dealers and even a Western style with final showdowns. There are even segments inspired by B-movies.

It feels like a completely different story, dragging along the characters left over from the first two seasons. It's worth noting that when the series premiered, Zendaya was the most famous of the entire cast. Now, most of them are stars, with Emmy, Oscar, and Golden Globe nominations and even wins. Just as the characters have changed, so have the actors. They now have the same prestige as Zendaya.

Levinson continues to use sex as a weapon to provoke, but none of it excites me anymore. His disaster with The Idol had the same problem; it also had a high sexual content and couldn't prevent it from being a failure. Of course, with Ephoria things change, because even though the season is the worst of the three, having characters and acquaintances we loved or hated makes it more bearable.

It's in the visual aspect where Levinson continues to excel; he deserves the recognition. He does it very well. The problem is that nothing that happened managed to move me. I no longer cared about the characters, so when two important characters leave this world, I couldn't care less. I felt nothing.

The last episode also seemed very long to me, with all that semi-spiritual nonsense that Levinson tried to force in. There was a moment when I just wanted it all to end, a scene between Lexi and Cassie. Luckily, it was followed by a scene with good action, which woke me up again, because those two were making me sleepy with their chatter. Jules' character, beyond showing off her physical attributes, was quite distant. I mean, she's trans, but she has nice breasts.

There were complaints on social media from feminists about the character Sydney Sweeney plays, but it's all because, since she's labeled a right-wing woman who supports Trump, they want to attack her character, Cassie, and her hypersexualization. I loved the scene where she says she's not retarded when asked if she's a Democrat. That infuriated left-leaning Americans.

Seeing breasts, semi-nude bodies, and sex doesn't bother me (I love this), but even that didn't matter to me in this story. It has its positive and admirable aspects, but as a general conclusion, it strayed from the path in many ways. However, I decided to focus on what I liked, and that's why I can say that I did like the ending.

Se acabó. Por fin se acabó. Esta tercera y última temporada tardó mucho en filmarse, hubo problemas, y eso se nota en la historia. Hay incluso fragmentos inspirados en películas de serie B.

Se siente como una historia completamente diferente, arrastrando a los personajes que quedaron de las dos primeras temporadas. Cabe destacar que cuando se estrenó la serie, Zendaya era la más famosa de todo el reparto. Ahora, la mayoría son estrellas, con nominaciones e incluso premios Emmy, Oscar y Globo de Oro. Así como los personajes han cambiado, también lo han hecho los actores. Ahora tienen el mismo prestigio que Zendaya.

Levinson sigue usando el sexo como arma para provocar, pero ya nada de eso me emociona. Su desastre con The Idol tuvo el mismo problema; también tenía un alto contenido sexual y no pudo evitar que fuera un fracaso. Claro, con Ephoria la cosa cambia, porque aunque la temporada sea la peor de las tres, tener personajes y conocidos que odiábamos o amábamos la hace más llevadera.

Es en el aspecto visual donde Levinson sigue destacando; se merece el reconocimiento. Lo hace muy bien. El problema es que nada de lo que pasó logró emocionarme. Ya no me importaban los personajes, así que cuando dos personajes importantes se van de este mundo, me da completamente igual. No sentí nada.

El último episodio también me pareció muy largo, con todas esas tonterías semi-espirituales que Levinson intentó meter a la fuerza. Hubo un momento en el que solo quería que todo terminara, una escena entre Lexi y Cassie. Por suerte, le siguió una escena con buena acción, que me despertó de nuevo, porque esas dos me estaban dando sueño con su parloteo. El personaje de Jules, más allá de lucir sus atributos físicos, era bastante distante. Vaya, es trans, pero tiene unos pechos bonitos.

Hubo quejas en redes sociales por parte de feministas sobre el personaje que interpreta Sydney Sweeney, pero todo se debe a que, al ser etiquetada como una mujer de derecha que apoya a Trump, quieren atacar a su personaje, Cassie, y su hipersexualización. Me encantó la escena en la que dice que no es retrasada cuando le preguntan si es demócrata. Eso enfureció a los estadounidenses de izquierda.

Ver tetas, cuerpos semidesnudos y sexo no me molesta ( me encanta ), pero ni siquiera eso me importó en esta historia. Tiene sus aspectos positivos y admirables, pero como conclusión general, se desvió del camino en muchos sentidos. Sin embargo, decidí centrarme en lo que me gustó, y por eso puedo decir que sí me gustó el final.
