Finding Me

Hello guys, hope you're well. I would love to share a movie that caught my attention. It almost brought tears to my eyes.

Moving on to the name of this movie is “Finding Me” a Nigerian movie that featured Funke Akindele as Tinuke. The story line is a relatable one and the characters portray betrayal, revenge, greed, love, decept.

Tinuke is a successful business woman, the CEO of a steel company married to Kola, a real estate guru.

She portrays the character of a good wife doing everything she can to get back the spark that was lost in her marriage. At first it was her husband's body shaming her, telling her how fat she is and that she was way out of fashion. Her dressing needs few touches and instead of her husband assisting her to get back in shape he uses that means to emotionally and mentally torture her but only gives in whenever Tinuke assisted him financially.

It got more hot and hilarious when Tinuke dressed up to seduce her husband. I just can't get off that scene but at the end her husband rejected her.

Another character Anthony, a lover boy who fell in love and got scanned by the whole family who was looking for a means to relocate. It portrays how good people eventually end up in the wrong hands of the bad one. It was so painful when he found out he had been fooled all these years.

It got more hot when Kola, who was always body shaming his wife, wasn't just fooling her but tied her down and brought her into a union called marriage just to leech on her. Tinuke gave her all when it comes to her family but little or no acknowledgement from her husband even after she lost her father's trust, transformed her fashion style and looked more beautiful still her husband wasn't looking her way.

Two lonely souls coming together, Tinuke and Anthony brought so much secret to the limelight especially the part when Tinuke got pregnant. She found out her marriage was just a shamble. Kola lied to her in the onset. At first I was so mad at this character especially when her driver told her the truth about her husband's secretly planning to adopt her baby through the help of the family doctor but yet she still didn't believe it, she had so much trust and faith in her husband even when others picture him black she's still willing to stand by his side. She thought her marriage could be redeemed and the last thought of her father's words kept ringing in her head.

“Nobody divorce in the family” her father's words. Tinuke shows more about how a woman works so hard to make her family work. Her love, her sacrifice but each time she loses. The highlight is the transformation of this character from a weak person to a more fierce and bold and brave character willing to face her husband.

Tinuke and her best friend portrays so much about true friendship. They were there for each other even in their worst moments, never judging each other and were patient enough. I will rate this movie 8/10. It was worth my time and money.
