I agree with you that it's one of those films that isn't just for entertainment, but rather moves you inside. Saoirse Ronan is an incredible actress, and I think she carries the film on her shoulders. What you said about the narrative, with those jumps in time and the use of nature, I loved. And the seal thing is a detail that initially threw me off, but in the end, it gives complete meaning to the story. I find it very interesting how the film shows that sobriety isn't a happy ending, but rather a daily and solitary process.
