I haven't actually seen it, but you've left me very curious. From what you're saying, it sounds like Ari Aster is returning to his roots of social criticism, as he did in Midsommar, but this time with a more direct approach. I find it very interesting that he doesn't espouse any ideology and mocks everyone equally. That's something you don't see much in today's cinema. We'll have to see it to see if it really is one of the best of the year.
