The truth is that I wouldn't have picked it up based on the cover, but that synopsis had me hooked! It sounds like it puts an interesting twist on the typical theme of possessions or evil entities, mixing it with trauma and stuff. I think it's great that it touches on how difficult it is to heal those childhood wounds, because that makes it deeper than just scares.
