El lunes pasado pude disfrutar de la última película que Marvel llevó a la pantalla grande, Ant-man and the Wasp: Quantumania, prácticamente la tercera entrega de este par de superhéroes que se distinguen por su carisma especial de a pesar de no ser de la talla de otros de los vengadores siempre están dispuestos a dar lo mejor de sí y literalmente llevan a que todos tengan la precaución debida con los pequeños porque aquí es donde puede radicar su gran habilidad.

Contexto: Presentación del villano de una Saga

Esta película estrena la fase 5 del UCM, luego de haber hecho una serie de "experimentos" en su fase 4 y haber concluido que quieren retomar la calidad de sus producciones. Al respecto, tengo que decir que esta película cumple con su objetivo de hacer sentir que algo nuevo está surgiendo, bueno más que algo se trata de alguien, y este es un nuevo villano: Kang, que aquí se presenta como el conquistador, pues, recordemos que ya lo vimos en la primera temporada de la serie de Loki, pero bajo la versión de "Aquel que permanece".

En efecto, si hay que resaltar una característica especial de este villano, con el cual se tendrán que enfrentar todos los avangers en pleno (tal como pasó con Thanos) son sus diversas variantes, es decir, las distintas versiones que del mismo existen en diversos y distintos universos, por eso, esta es la saga del multiverso. ¿Qué es lo que hace especial a kang en este sentido? Pues que él tiene una particular conciencia sobre esto y las posibilidades que lo mismo le confiere, que en pocas palabras es realizar incursiones de un universo a otro para acomodar las cosas a su gusto y según sus intereses.

Aunque esto tiene sus peligros, por eso, formó el consejo de los Kang, que es la reunión de todas las variantes de sí mismo, si bien no sabemos cuáles son sus últimas intenciones, ya con lo que nos han ofrecido podemos entrever que hay posibilidades interesantes. De hecho, la variante que esta película nos presenta es tan peligrosa que el mismo consejo la desterró al mundo cuántico, del cual se erigió como su conquistador o, mejor dicho, su opresor.

La heroicidad

Ante esta figura de opresión resaltan los héroes, en primer lugar, Scott Lang, Ant-Man, el cual pasa de estar un poco despreocupado con lo que pasa a su alrededor a tomar parte una vez más en su misión de salvar, en esta ocasión, al mundo cuántico. The Wasp, aunque no tuvo una participación relevante, también es de resaltar porque se sigue mostrando como la compañera inseparable de su amado. Cassie Lang, que ya se perfila como la heredera de las partículas Pim, hace su debút aquí, pero lo más importante es que a pesar de su corta edad, demuestra la valentía y buen corazón, lo cual nos trae gratos recuerdos de los comienzos de las aventuras de Ant-Man.

Además de estos héroes "principales" también hay que referirnos a Janet, la cual engrana todo en la trama, puesto en su primera estancia en el mundo cuántico conoció a Kang, del cual no había dicho nada, pero contra el cual se enfrentó en varias ocasiones e incluso hizo que se quedara atrapado allí. Su esposo, Hank, también es relevante porque además de que ve cumplido su sueño de estudiar de cerca el mundo cuántico, es determinante en el buen desenlace de la acción.

Finalmente, también hay que hablar sobre la heroicidad subatómica, es decir, la de los seres del mundo cuántico, pues, allí también existen diversos seres tipo "extraterrestres" con cualidades de héroes, que buscan lo mejor para los suyos, pero que también tienen que enfrentarse con grandes dificultades.

El problema con el tiempo

Al igual que el final de la primera temporada de Loki, pero en pequeñas cápsulas y por separado, este película también toca el tema del tiempo, lo cual me parece interesante porque en cierta manera así está uniendo la saga del infinito, donde los Avengers tuvieron que viajar en el tiempo para reunir las gemas del infinito, y la saga del multiverso donde el tiempo es relativo a la realidad multiversal, y en este sentido totalmente manipulable.

Una frase de una de las variantes de kang en la primera escena post crédito hace referencia a esto, pues dice que "ya no tienen tiempo", como haciendo referencia que se le está escapando la posibilidad de seguir manipulándolo, ya que los Avengers ya están descubriendo la existencia de realidades multiversales, y buscan conservar su justo equilibrio.

Indeed, if we have to highlight a special feature of this villain, with which all the Avangers will have to face in full (as happened with Thanos) are its various variants, ie the different versions of it exist in different and different universes, so this is the *saga of the multiverse *. What makes it special to kang in this sense? Well, he has a particular conscience about this and the possibilities that it confers him, which in a few words is to make incursions from one universe to another to accommodate things to his liking and according to his interests.

Although this has its dangers, for that reason, he formed the council of the Kang, which is the meeting of all the variants of himself, although we do not know what his ultimate intentions are, already with what we have been offered we can glimpse that there are interesting possibilities. In fact, the variant that this film presents us with is so dangerous that the council itself banished it to the quantum world, of which it set itself up as its conqueror or, rather, its oppressor.

Heroism

In the face of this figure of oppression the heroes stand out, first of all, Scott Lang, Ant-Man, who goes from being a little unconcerned with what is happening around him to once again taking part in his mission to save, on this occasion, the quantum world. The Wasp, although she did not have a relevant participation, is also noteworthy because she continues to show herself as the inseparable companion of her beloved. Cassie Lang, who is already emerging as the heiress of the Pim particles, makes her debut here, but the most important thing is that despite her young age, she shows courage and good heart, which brings back fond memories of the early adventures of Ant-Man.

In addition to these "main" heroes we also have to refer to Janet, which meshes everything in the plot, since in her first stay in the quantum world she met Kang, of whom she had not said anything, but against whom she clashed on several occasions and even made him get trapped there. Her husband, Hank, is also relevant because in addition to seeing his dream of studying the quantum world up close fulfilled, he is decisive in the good outcome of the action.

Finally, we must also talk about subatomic heroism, that is, that of the beings of the quantum world, because there are also several "alien" type beings with heroic qualities, who seek the best for their own, but who also have to face great difficulties.

The problem with time

Like Loki's first season finale, but in small capsules and separately, this movie also touches on the theme of time, which I find interesting because in a way it is thus linking the infinity saga, where the Avengers had to travel back in time to gather the infinity gems, and the multiverse saga where time is relative to multiversal reality, and in this sense totally manipulable.

A phrase of one of the variants of Kang in the first post-credit scene refers to this, as he says that "they no longer have time ", as if making reference that the possibility of continuing to manipulate it is escaping him, since the Avengers are already discovering the existence of multiversal realities, and seek to preserve their right balance.
