Perhaps the title of this publication: “Or weird, or abstract, or without context” could serve to explain in one stroke the nature of the photographs which I am sharing here with you today... But, as I am an “inveterate scribbler”, I will try to write a little bit about each photo so that you may have some reference to some little story or anecdote that may be behind these images...

Quizás el y titulo de esta publicación: "O raro, o abstracto, o sin contexto" podría servir para explicar de un plumazo la naturaleza de las fotografías que estoy compartiendo aquí con ustedes hoy... Pero, como soy un "escribidor empedernido", voy a hacer el intento de escribir un poco acerca de cada foto para que ustedes tenga alguna referencia de alguna pequeña historia o anécdota que pueda haber detrás de estas imágenes...

📷 01- Dew on the windshield of Javier's old Nissan Patrol... / _{Rocío en el parabrisas del Nissan Patrol de Javier...}

Javier earns his living by repairing electric motors and the like in his garage in a neighboring town... Javier owns an old 70's Nissan Patrol, which is always parked (day and night) in front of his house. Since fuel has become scarce and prices have gone up, it is now cheaper to cycle to and from his work... However, it's good for me to look at the windshield of that old vehicle, backlit and full of morning dew...

Javier vive de reparar motores eléctricos y cosas por el estilo en su taller en un pueblo vecino... Javier posee un viejo vehículo Nissan Patrol del año 70, el cual siempre está estacionado (día y noche) en frente de su casa. Pues desde que el combustible escasea y subió de precio, ahora es más barato ir y venir en bicicleta a su trabajo... Sin embargo, a mi me sirve mirar el parabrisas de ese viejo vehículo, a contraluz y repleto del rocío de la mañana...

📷 02- Another light in the cemetery chapel... / _{Otra luz en la capilla del cementerio...}

When the dawn is not foggy, a ray of sunlight penetrates the old chapel of the municipal cemetery and goes out to the street through the always closed grilled door... Thus the dead forget the candles and love more that light of the sun that greets early...

Cuando no amanece con niebla, algún rayo de luz solar penetra en la vieja capilla del cementerio municipal y sale hacia la calle por la puerta de rejas siempre cerrada... Así los muertos olvidan los sirios y pretenden esa luz del sol que saluda temprano...

📷 03- False gunshots at the Ford LTD... / _{Falsos disparos en el Ford LTD...}

The old '76 Ford LTD that belonged to my uncle Marcos, has been parked on a street rusting for years... I remember when my cousins and I would ask my Uncle: “What are those holes in your car?” and he would answer with a mischievous smile: “I've been shot by thieves recently” 🤣... But it was actually something made to straighten the body of the car after my uncle accidentally crashed it into a (fortunately empty) magazine stand...

El viejo Ford LTD del 76 que perteneció a mi tío Marcos, hace años que permanece estacionado en una calle oxidándose... Recuerdo cuando mis primos y yole preguntábamos a mi Tío: ¿Que son esos oyos en tu auto? y el contestaba con sonrisa picarona: "Me han disparado unos ladrones recientemente" 🤣... Pero en realidad se trataba de algo hecho para enderezar la carrocería del auto después de que mi tío lo estrellase sin querer con un kiosco de revistas (vacío afortunadamente)...

📷 04- The roots of the tree next to the police station... / _{Las raíces del árbol al lado de la estación policial...}

It is forbidden for people to take pictures of the local police station, so every time I pass by I spend a little time photographing the strange roots of that tree growing right next to the building... Then there's always some officer watching me apparently waiting for me to point my camera at him... Which, evidently, I never do... 🤣

Está prohibido a las personas hacer fotografías de la estación de policía local, así que cada vez que paso por allí me dedico un poco a fotografiar las extrañas raíces de ese árbol que crece justo al lado del edificio... Entonces siempre hay algún oficial mirándome al parecer esperando que apunte mi cámara hacia él... Cosa la cual, evidentemente, nunca hago... 🤣

📷 05- Inverse signal... / _{Señal inversa...}

This sign is somewhat simple: It is their reflection in the water from last night's rain... However, I think that in the school a few meters away, the children always arrive alone, they are never taken by a parent as in the sign...

Esta señal es algo simple: Es su reflejo en agua producto de las lluvias de anoche... Sin embargo, se me ocurre, que en el colegio a pocos metros, los niños llegan siempre solos, nunca les lleva alguno delos padres como en la señal...

📷 06- Empty swings... / _{Columpios vacíos...}

Several times in the year, I think, I wander through the abandoned park, pass by and rock the swings myself and then take some pictures of them... Oddly enough, every time I do this, I hear the voice in the distance of the employees of an auto parts store saying: “There's that crazy guy again taking pictures of the swings”... 🤣

Varias veces al año, creo, deambulo a través del parque abandonado, paso y hago mecer los columpios yo mismo para luego hacerle algunas fotos... Curiosamente, cada vez que hago esto, escucho la voz a lo lejos de los empleados de una tienda de repuestos automotrices diciendo: "Allá está nuevamente el loco haciendo fotos de los columpios"... 🤣

This is definitely just that what it looks like to be: “the reflection of the clouds on the street”... 🙂 ....

Definitivamente, esto es solo eso que luce ser: "el reflejo de las nubes en la calle"... 🙂

📷 08- Así se obtiene el agua... / _{Así se obtiene el agua...}

In some neighborhoods there is barely a single place where you can fill containers with drinking water... It is a constant shortage, even in the rainy season some do not have clean water to drink in their homes... And me taking pictures in the street!... That's where I understand their occasional looks of incomprehension...

En algunos vecindarios hay apenas un solo lugar en donde se pueden llenar los recipientes con agua potable... Es una carencia constante, incluso en época de lluvias algunos no tienen agua limpia para beber en sus casas... ¡Y yo haciendo fotos por la calle!... Es allí donde entiendo sus miradas de incomprensión ocasionales...

📷 09- Ford Maverick door... / _{La puerta del Ford Maverick...}

Gosh, there are so many old vehicles rusting away parked in the streets of this town that I'm sure I could take 1000 abstract photos of them and there would still be plenty of vehicles and parts left over to photograph... And when one disappears, another one shows up on another street!....

Cielos, hay tal cantidad de viejos vehículos oxidándose aparcados en las calles de este pueblo que, estoy seguro de que podría 1000 fotos abstractas en ellos y aún sobrarían vehículos y partes para fotografiar... ¡Y cuando alguno desaparece, aparece otro en otra calle!...

📷 10- Shades of iron chairs... / _{Sombras de sillas de hierro...}

Yeah, I don't know for sure why I took this photo either, but I liked the title I thought of just saw the scene: “Shadows of iron chairs”... Sounds like for a movie or for a book! 😃

Sí, yo tampoco sé a ciencia cierta porqué hice esta foto, pero me gustó el título que pensé justo vi la escena: "Sombras de sillas de hierro"... ¡Suena como para una película o para un libro! 😃

📷 11- A sticker on a lamp post... / _{Una pegatina sobre un poste de una farola...}

I don't really have the words to describe how stupid I think a person must be to stick political (or any kind of) political advertising stickers on the pole of a lamppost on the main street boulevard... But that's how it happens here!... 😑

No tengo en realidad palabras como para describir cuan estúpida me parece que debe ser una persona como para pegar pegatinas de propaganda política (o de cualquier tipo) sobre el poste de una farola en el boulevard de la calle principal... ¡Pero así es como sucede aquí!... 😑

📷 12- The axe of Pablo the carver... / _{El hacha de Pablo el tallador...}

And Pablo, the carver, goes home for lunch and leaves his axe there nailed in the wood of a dry log on the main street... And I ask him: And aren't you afraid that someone will steal your axe? And Pablo answers smiling: Somehow I will know who it was, because in this town everything is known!... And then I will find him and shave his scalp with this same axe!...

Y Pablo, el tallador, va a su casa a almorzar y deja su hacha allí clavada en la madera de un tronco seco que está en la calle principal... Y yo le pregunto: ¿Y no temes que alguien robe tu hacha? y Pablo contesta sonriente: ¡De alguna manera sabré quien fue, pues en este pueblo todo se sabe!... ¡Y entonces lo encontraré y raparé su cabellera con esta misma hacha!... 😂

Well, after all, all this wasn't so “Or weird, or abstract, or without context”... But it sure looked like it at first glance!... 😂

Bien, después de todo, todo esto no era tan "O raro, o abstracto, o sin contexto"... ¡Pero sí que lo parecía a simple vista!... 😂
