Thoroughly enjoyed the series, period shows always of interest. How lucky you have been to see the mansion now attend the auction.

Difficult times for many, except the rich, true stiff upper-lip British I suppose. What I enjoyed about this particular show it reflected both sides, how the rich assisted locals into employment, during times of need everyone pulled together to overcome hardship faced.

I been watching loads of trailers for the final movie, and it seems even the wealthy aren't spared this time. I shall look forward to watching it.

Have you watched The Gilded Age? That was interesting, to see the other side of the wealthy, so to speak. And to learn that Lady Grantham's situation wasn't that unpopular back then

No I will have to watch out for the other mentioned, always enjoy shows blended into history giving us a taste of the past.

The Gilded Age is also written by Julian Fellows, and is from the same period but based in New York, and has a mix of old and new money family. It was nice to watch it to fill the DA void
