Hoy les traigo un review de la última película de adam sandler específicamente de Happy Gilmore 2.

Para ser honesto, mi impresión general se inclina más hacia un "meh" decente. La película no es un desastre absoluto, pero tampoco alcanza el encanto y la frescura de su predecesora. Se siente como un intento de capitalizar la nostalgia, inyectando elementos familiares y tratando de replicar la fórmula del éxito, pero sin la misma chispa original.

Uno de los aspectos más promocionados fue el regreso de varios personajes queridos de la primera entrega. Efectivamente, caras conocidas como Shooter McGavin, (robándose cada escena como siempre), la abuela de Happy (interpretada ahora por una actriz diferente, lo cual se nota) y hasta el entrañable Otto, (en un cameo que se siente más como un guiño forzado que como una contribución real a la trama) hacen acto de presencia. Verlos de nuevo genera una sonrisa nostálgica, pero sus participaciones a menudo se sienten breves o un tanto desaprovechadas, como si estuvieran ahí más por cumplir un requisito que por integrarse orgánicamente a la nueva historia.

En cuanto a la trama en sí, Happy Gilmore 2 nos presenta a un Happy más viejo (aunque no necesariamente más sabio) que se ve envuelto en una nueva serie de desventuras en el mundo del golf. No quiero spoilear demasiado, pero digamos que la historia toma giros bastante inesperados y, en algunos momentos, francamente absurdos. En esta secuela, la narrativa a veces se pierde en subtramas innecesarias y chistes que no terminan de aterrizar.

Y precisamente ahí radica uno de los mayores problemas de la película: el humor. El sello característico de Happy Gilmore siempre fue su humor físico, su ira descontrolada y sus salidas de tono. La secuela intenta replicar esto, pero a menudo se siente como una caricatura de sí misma. Los chistes subidos de tono a los que haces referencia están ahí, sí, pero en muchos casos caen en lo burdo y lo predecible, sin generar la risa genuina que se esperaba. Hay una línea muy delgada entre el humor irreverente y el humor simplemente flojo, y Happy Gilmore 2 cruza esa línea con demasiada frecuencia. Entiendo que este tipo de humor no es para todos, y en esta ocasión, incluso para algunos que disfrutamos del humor de Adam Sandler, puede resultar decepcionante. No se siente fresco , sino más bien como una repetición cansada de viejos chistes con un barniz moderno.

Esto me lleva a la cuestión del público al que va dirigida la película. Si bien apela directamente a la nostalgia de quienes crecieron con la original, dudo que conecte de la misma manera con una audiencia más joven. El humor, aunque a veces intenta ser actual, se siente anclado en una sensibilidad cómica de otra época. Por otro lado, los fanáticos de la primera película podrían sentirse decepcionados por la falta de originalidad y la sensación de que esta secuela no está a la altura del legado. En definitiva, parece que la película intenta abarcar demasiado y termina sin definir claramente a su público objetivo.

Ahora hablemos de las actuaciones. En general, el elenco cumple, aunque ninguno destaca particularmente más allá de Christopher McDonald, quien parece haber nacido para interpretar a villanos egocéntricos en el mundo del deporte. Adam Sandler se mete en el papel de Happy sin problemas, pero se nota que el personaje no tiene la misma energía ni la misma motivación que antes. Se siente como si estuviera interpretando una versión diluida de sí mismo.

Y luego está la participación de Bad Bunny. Su inclusión generó mucha expectación, y debo decir que, en términos de presencia en pantalla, no desentona. Interpreta un personaje secundario con cierta desenvoltura, y para ser su debut en una comedia de este calibre, su actuación es, decente. Pero tampoco arruina la película. Sin embargo, donde la cosa se derrumba estrepitosamente es en el doblaje. Es, sin exagerar, uno de los peores doblajes que he escuchado en mucho tiempo. Las líneas no encajan con el movimiento de los labios, la entonación es plana y sin emoción, y en general, resta muchísimo a cualquier posible impacto que el personaje pudiera tener. Es una decisión inexplicable que perjudica seriamente la experiencia de ver la película en español. Si tienen la oportunidad, véanla en su idioma original para evitar este suplicio auditivo. El resto del elenco cumple sin grandes sorpresas, con interpretaciones correctas pero poco memorables.

Bueno para terminar, Happy Gilmore 2 es una secuela que se siente innecesaria. Intenta apelar a la nostalgia y a la fórmula cómica de su predecesora, pero se queda a medio camino. El regreso de personajes conocidos y los cameos de otras películas de Sandler generan momentos puntuales de diversión, pero la trama floja y un humor que no termina de funcionar hacen que la película se sienta inconsistente. La actuación general es correcta, con la excepción de un doblaje desastroso para el personaje de Bad Bunny.

Ultimately, it seems the movie tries to cover too much ground and ends up without clearly defining its target audience.

Now let's talk about the performances. Overall, the cast delivers, though none particularly stand out beyond Christopher McDonald, who seems born to play egocentric villains in the sports world. Adam Sandler slips into the role of Happy effortlessly, but it's noticeable that the character doesn't have the same energy or motivation as before. It feels like he's playing a diluted version of himself.

And then there's Bad Bunny's participation. His inclusion generated a lot of anticipation, and I must say that, in terms of screen presence, he doesn't stand out negatively. He plays a secondary character with some ease, and for his debut in a comedy of this caliber, his performance is decent. But he doesn't ruin the movie either. However, where things collapse spectacularly is in the dubbing. It is, without exaggeration, one of the worst dubbings I've heard in a long time. The lines don't match the lip movements, the intonation is flat and emotionless, and overall, it significantly detracts from any possible impact the character might have had. It's an inexplicable decision that seriously harms the experience of watching the movie in Spanish. If you have the chance, watch it in its original language to avoid this auditory torture. The rest of the cast delivers without major surprises, with correct but unmemorable performances.

Well, to conclude, Happy Gilmore 2 is a sequel that feels unnecessary. It tries to appeal to nostalgia and the comedic formula of its predecessor but falls short.
