CineTV Contest: A remake of Catwoman [ENG/SPA]
Welcome to this presentation on CineTv's contest about a movie that needs a reboot or a remake or a new version and in the list there are several, but I will choose Catwoman is the one that for sure should have a new version, the movie can be improved and quite a lot in my opinion.
This version of Catwoman tells us the story of Patience Philips a shy graphic artist for a cosmetics company run by the dictator George Hedare and his model wife Laurel, she learns by mistake that the new beauty product to be launched by the company has a defect and is sent to kill her, then an Egyptian cat revives her and gives her superpowers and she transforms into Catwoman.
Bienvenidos a esta presentación sobre el concurso de CineTv sobre una película que necesite un reinicio o un remake o nueva versión y en la lista hay varias, pero escogeré Catwoman es la que con seguridad debería tener una nueva versión, la película puede ser mejorada y bastante a mi parecer.
Esta versión de Catwoman nos cuenta la historia de Patience Philips una tímida artista gráfica de una compañía de cosméticos dirigida por el dictador George Hedare y su esposa modelo Laurel, ella se entera por error que el nuevo producto de belleza que va a lanzar la empresa tiene un defecto y la mandan a matar, luego un gato egipcio la revive y le da superpoderes y se transforma en Catwoman.
That movie critics say it is bad, does not mean it is, I think there are things that can be rescued from the film, but in my opinion they could have done much better, the first reason is that they took many narrative liberties, his story has nothing to do with the stories of DC comics where the character in it is a hero / villain belonging to the Batman universe, a very complex character with a fascinating duality that flirts with good and evil. But in the movie he expresses this duality very badly, not to say that it is nonexistent, besides they change his name, now his name is Patience Phillips and he has superpowers, something that does not appear in the comics.
To me another error is the script, I consider that the plot is very weak and boring, besides absurd, the script never gets to hook the viewer, and for me it is an epic failure that the plot focuses on preventing the cosmetic company to launch a face cream that has side effects and I wonder, doesn't that country have strict health controls so that this cream does not go out to the public, to focus that Catwoman has to go to stop that cream from going to the market is really absurd and the final fight with the villain left much to be desired.
Que los críticos del cine digan que sea mala, no significa que lo sea, creo que hay cosas rescatables de la película, pero a mi parecer pudieron realizarlo mucho mejor, la primera razón es que se tomaron muchas libertades narrativas, su historia no tiene nada que ver con las historias de DC comics donde proviene el personaje en ella es un héroe/villano perteneciente al universo de Batman, un personaje muy complejo con una fascinante dualidad que coquetea con el bien y el mal. Pero en la película expresa muy mal esta dualidad, para no decir que es inexistente, aparte le cambian el nombre, ahora se llama Patience Phillips y tiene superpoderes, algo que no aparece en el comics.
A mi otro error es el guion considero que la trama es muy floja y aburrida, aparte que absurda, el guion nunca llega a enganchar al espectador, y para mí es un fallo épico que la trama se centre en impedir que la empresa cosmética lance una crema para la cara que tiene efectos secundarios y yo me pregunto ¿ese país no tiene estrictos controles sanitarios para que esa crema no salga al público?, centrar que catwoman tiene que ir a impedir que esa crema salga al mercado es en verdad absurdo además que la pelea final con la villana dejo mucho que desear.
Although there are remarkable things in the film, I think the casting was good, placing the beautiful Halley Berry as Catwoman and Sharon Stone as the villain, was a success, although they have had better performances, I didn't think they were so bad. However, I still think Michelle Pfeiffer is the best Catwoman, she sets the bar high enough for someone to surpass her. On the subject of action I recognize that most of the fights are very well done and choreographed, Special effects are regular, the use of the computer was very noticeable.
Basically, what I would do is that the story was a little more like the one in the comics, because in the movie even the name is changed in the comics is called Selina Kyle, I did not think bad to change its origin outside the comics, but I think the plot should focus on it a white-collar thief who sometimes is heroine and sometimes is villain, she is a complex character, so there is material to make a very good script where they develop the character, she should also fight a real villain that threatens the city, In the comics she has no superpowers, but she has certain skills that stand out to fight would be something very good and positive, I hope you liked my writing about why the movie should have a remake and how they should cover it.
Aunque hay cosas destacables en la película, opino que el casting fue bueno, colocar a la hermosísima Halley Berry como Catwoman y a Sharon Stone Como la Villana, fue un acierto, aunque han tenido mejores actuaciones, tampoco me parecieron tan malas. No obstante, Me sigue pareciendo, Michelle Pfeiffer, la mejor Catwoman, pone el listo bastante alto para que alguien la supere. En el tema de la acción reconozco que la mayoría de las luchas están muy bien hechas y coreografiadas, Los efectos Especiales son regulares, se notó mucho el uso del ordenador.
Básicamente, lo que yo haría es que la historia se pareciera un poco más a la de los comics, porque en la película hasta el nombre le cambian en los comics se llama Selina Kyle, no me pareció mal cambiar su origen fuera de los comics, pero creo que el argumento debe centrarse en ello una ladrona de guante blanco que a veces es heroína y otras veces es villana, ella es un personaje complejo, así que hay material para realizar un muy buen guion donde desarrollen el personaje, además debería combatir a un verdadero villano que amenace la ciudad, En los comics no tiene superpoderes, pero que tenga ciertas habilidades que destaquen para pelear sería algo muy bueno y positivo, espero le haya gustado mi redacción sobre porque la película debería tener un remake y como deberían abarcarlo.

De verdad que esta película no fue una de las mejores de Hally, ella es una gran actriz, pero aquí le falto, ahora que lo pienso es cierto, lo de la crema y eso, no tenía sentido, pero bueno, con todo y eso, resulto entretenida, sin duda no es una de las mejores, pero bueno pasable, buena elección, saludos.
