The Gorge | Movie Review
This is my second time watching this movie, and I remember saying I'd review it, but I'm just realizing I haven't done so yet, so here we go.
This movie is a sci-fi thriller with a bit of romance, starring Anya Taylor-Joy and Miles Tiller. This was a strange combination for me, so I wanted to check it out.
Es la segunda vez que veo esta película y recuerdo que dije qué haría un review y recién me estoy dando cuenta que aún no lo había hecho, así que vamos allá.
Esta película es un thriller de ciencia ficción con un poco de romance, está protagonizado por Anya Taylor-joy y Miles Tiller. Para mi esta fue un combinación extraña y por este motivo quise echar un vistazo.

What's it about?
At first, the plot is somewhat divided between these two characters, Levi (Miles) and Drasa (Anya).
Levi is a former American Green Beret, and Drasa is a Lithuanian sniper. Both characters are sent on a mission that is supposed to last approximately one year. The mission consists of guarding towers at the edge of a gorge. There are two towers, both at one end of the other.
In the story, these two characters are supposed to be on this secret mission. They know they must each guard their own towers, but they don't know exactly what they're supposed to guard. Furthermore, they were forbidden from communicating since each belongs to a different area, and evidently each side is protecting its own interests.
We already know how movies go: they forbid the characters from doing something, but eventually they do it, and the worst part is that they enter the gorge and end up discovering what's really there.
¿De que trata?
Al principio la trama va un poco dividida entre estos dos personajes con Levi (Miles) y Drasa (Anya).
Levi es un ex boina verde estadounidense y Drasa es una francotirado Lituana. Ambos personajes son enviados en un misión que debe durar aproximadamente un año. La misión consiste en resguardar unas torres al borde de un desfiladero. Hay dos torres ambas están a un extremo de la otra.
En la historia se supone que estos dos personajes están haciendo esta misión secreta, saben que deben resguardar cada uno sus torres pero no saben exactamente de que. Además, estos tenían prohibido comunicarse ya que cada uno pertenece a una zona diferente y evidentemente cada lado protege sus intereses.
Ya sabemos como son las películas les prohiben a los personajes hacer algo y eventualmente lo harán y lo peor es que se adentran en el desfiladero y terminan descubriendo que es lo que realmente hay allí debajo.

I feel like it's an entertaining film worth watching. It always kept me intrigued, although I admit the romance wasn't very convincing. I'd remove that category and leave it with the rest; possibly that and other details would have given it a better perspective. I mention this because I feel the romance takes away from the story's power; it's like adding a bit of filler. I admit it was interesting to me; I think anyone looking for a good time could be entertained.
Siento que es una película entretenida que merece la pena verla, siempre me mantuvo con la intriga aunque admito que la parte del romance no me convenció mucho, yo le quitaría esa categoría y la dejaría con el resto, posiblemente eso y otros detalles hubieran dando una mejor perspectiva. Menciono esto porque siento que el romance le quita fuerza a la historia, es como meter un poco de relleno en la historia. Admito que para mi fue interesante, creo que cualquier persona que este buscando pasar el rato podría entretenerse.
I enjoyed this movie! And yes, I wasn't a fan of the romance either. But it served it's purpose in driving the plot forward so it's fine i suppose.

¡Oye, pues no la conocía para nada! Y tienes razón, la combinación de Anya Taylor-Joy y Miles Teller suena súper extraña, pero de esas que dan curiosidad. La trama se oye bien, qué mal que le metieran el romance medio a la fuerza, a veces eso le quita seriedad a un buen thriller. Gracias por el dato, ¡me has dejado con ganas de verla!
