The Woman in Cabin 10 | Netflix Movie Review
Greetings, after a few weeks I'm back here to review, and taking advantage of the fact that Netflix recently released ‘The Woman in Cabin 10’, which according to what I investigated after watching it, lol, is an adaptation of Ruth Ware's book and I didn't even know it was a Bestseller. I have no proof and no doubt that the book version is probably a 10/10. What really caught my attention was when I saw Keira Knightley on the cover and knew she was the protagonist. Since I like her acting, I gave the movie a chance.
Saludos, después de unas semanas regreso por aquí a reseñar y aprovechando que Netflix estrenó hace poco The Woman in Cabin 10, que según estuve investigando después que la vi, lol, que es una adaptación del libro de Ruth Ware y ni siquiera sabía que era un BestSeller, no tengo pruebas y tampoco dudas de que seguramente la versión del libro es 10/10. Realmente lo que me llamó la atención fue cuando vi en la portada a Keira Knightley y supe que era la protagonista, ya que me gusta como ella actúa, le di la oportunidad a la película.

Let's talk a little about the film and its context.
We begin with the character of Laura Blacklock, a travel journalist who recently experienced a traumatic event and should have been resting, but instead agrees to cover the maiden voyage of a luxury superyacht (this is used as an excuse to rest there) called the Aurora Borealis, owned by Anne Bullmer, a woman who is ill, and also by her husband, Richard. The trip has a charitable purpose: Anne plans to donate her fortune through a foundation as part of her legacy.
The story begins to unfold when, one night, Laura thinks she's seen something terrible: she hears a crash, a scream, and sees a woman being thrown overboard from cabin 10. But when she reports it, she is assured that no one is missing, that the cabin is empty, that no one has occupied it, much less the person she is describing, since a person with those characteristics has not yet boarded.
And here, at this moment, a struggle begins to prove that she's not imagining things, facing the disbelief of the crew and passengers, as well as her own insecurities.
Hablemos un poco de la película, cual es su contexto.
Empezamos con el personaje de Laura Blacklock que es una periodista de viajes y la cual recientemente vivió un evento traumático y debería estar descansando pero acepta cubrir un viaje inaugural de un superyate de lujo (esto como excusa de que ella descansará ahí) llamado Aurora Borealis, propiedad de Anne Bullmer una mujer que está enferma y también de su esposo Richard. El viaje tiene una finalidad benéfica: Anne planea donar su fortuna mediante una fundación, como parte de su legado.
La historia se empieza a desarrollar cuando en la noche, Laura cree haber visto algo terrible: escucha un golpe, un grito, ve a una mujer siendo arrojada por la borda desde la cabina 10. Pero al reportarlo, le aseguran que no hay desaparecidos, que esa cabina está vacía, que nadie la ha ocupado y menos la persona que ella está describiendo , pues una persona con esas características no ha embarcado.
Y aquí en este momento empieza una lucha por demostrar que no está imaginándose las cosas, enfrentándose a la incredulidad de la tripulación y los pasajeros, así como a sus propias inseguridades.

My humble opinion: this movie is neither the best nor the worst I've seen. It has something of its own, and I would recommend it to people looking for something light to watch, just to be entertained. Highlighting the positive aspects, I quite liked Keira's performance; for me, she has a unique charisma.
And although the movie looks quite good, not everything is that great... for me, I feel like the story is forced at the beginning, then halfway through, it seems to lose momentum, and suddenly you blink and everything is happening very fast. It feels strange, so much so that I don't even know how to describe it. I also feel like the entire responsibility of carrying the movie was given to the protagonist. By this, I mean it seems like the other characters were painted on a wall. They focused so much on developing and injecting story, drama, and suspense solely into the protagonist that the others are left feeling empty and hollow, making the story seem a bit forced. Ultimately, it's not the best, but it does manage to entertain in the end.
Mi humilde opinión: esta película no es ni la mejor ni la peor que he visto, tiene algo de lo suyo y podría recomendarla a personas que buscan algo ligero de ver, solo entretenerse. Sacando a relucir los aspectos positivos, la actuación de Keira me ha gustado bastante, para mi ella tiene una carisma única.
Y a pesar de que la película se ve bastante bien, no todo es tan bueno… para mi, siento que la historia es como forzada al inicio, luego en el punto medio como que pierde fuerza y de pronto pestañeas y todo está pasando muy rápido, se siente extraño, tanto que ni sé cómo describirlo. También siento que toda la responsabilidad de llevar la película se la dieron a la protagonista, con esto quiero decir que parece que los otros personas estaban ahí pintados en la pared, se enfocaron mucho en desarrollar y meter historia, drama, suspenso solamente hacia la protagonista que los demás quedan como vacíos y huecos, haciendo ver la historia también un poco forzada. En fin, no es lo mejor pero al final si cumple con entretener.
