A Orson Welles (ejercicio literario) (Esp | Eng)

A 110 años del nacimiento de quien fuera y sigue siendo un puntal del cine contemporáneo, Orson Welles, decidí escribir este ejercicio –sin mayor pretensión poética–, una vez que le he dedicado en otros momentos posts a su memoria, como pueden ver en 1 y 2.

Portentoso, como los toros
de su predilección,
avizoró con su ojo de poeta
el insondable drama humano:
el del poder, la corrupción, la traición...

Poseído por el espíritu
del universal creador isabelino,
nos afrontó la enorme precariedad
que hemos sido y seguimos siendo,
habitantes de este “touch of evil”.

Mago del plano-secuencia,
esa forma dilatada de presentar
los encadenados fragmentos de la vida.

Su presencia seguirá siendo
una “historia inmortal”.

Portentous, like the bulls
of his predilection,
saw with his poet's eye
the unfathomable human drama:
that of power, corruption, betrayal.

Possessed by the spirit
of the universal Elizabethan creator,
confronted us with the enormous precariousness
that we have been and continue to be,
inhabitants of this “touch of evil”.

Magician of the shot-sequence,
that dilated way of presenting
the chained fragments of life.

His presence will continue to be
an “immortal story”.
