Pier Paolo Pasolini, el arte contemporáneo en defensa de la dignidad humana (microficción) (Esp | Eng)

El gran cineasta italiano, pero también poeta, novelista y ensayista, Pier Paolo Pasolini, cumplió 50 años de ser brutalmente asesinado el 2 de noviembre (en 1975).

Pasolini fue, sin duda, uno de los más inteligentes, agudos, polémicos, incómodos intelectuales italianos del siglo XX, incluso para sus camaradas comunistas, de quien se distanció en buen momento. Irreverente y escandaloso, para algunos. Tanto su obra literaria como cinematográfica constituye una referencia insoslayable de una conciencia autónoma, diferente hasta el máximo, a la que convido a revisitar o conocer.

De su biografía podrán informarse en la referencia dada arriba. Quise recordarlo y honrarlo, como suelo hacer con figuras queridas, a través de una microficción, concebida como que el artista asistiera a una confesión postmortem.

Quizás mi vida sea como un teorema, no por lo difícil que pueda ser, sino por lo que contendría como compleja consternación vital.

Sé que he sido, desde mi juventud, un individuo difícil, incluso para mi familia. He tratado de encontrar algún camino en mi vida, aunque sé que no hay ninguno recto, directo y fácil.

La poesía y la narrativa han sido mi refugio. Sin embargo, tan rebelde, encontré en el cine mi más expedito medio de enrostrar la falsa moral a la sociedad occidental, pero también recrearme en suspiros de libertad.

Intenté, a través de mi cine, encarar las grandes dificultades que vivimos. En Saló expuse, sin pudor alguno, cómo el poder absoluto y despótico, fascista, puede actuar (como lo ha hecho) con el más impune derecho a la violación. Lejos mi intención de aprobar lo allí mostrado como el mayor oprobio a la dignidad humana.

Molestó a muchos mi opción sexual, que asumí con entereza, sin aspavientos —como los actuales—; sin embargo, fui juzgado, acosado, hasta producir mi muerte un asesino —voluntario o pagado— que cumplía la condena contra mi homosexualidad, y quizás mi radical actividad crítica.

Me inspiré en los mitos, las leyendas y las narraciones antiguas de la rica cultura humana. Algo quedará de mí, enrevesada en la visita contemporánea de esos mundos.

The great Italian filmmaker, but also poet, novelist, and essayist, Pier Paolo Pasolini, would have been 50 years old on November 2nd (in 1975) since his brutal murder.

Pasolini was, without a doubt, one of the most intelligent, incisive, controversial, and challenging Italian intellectuals of the 20th century, even for his communist comrades, from whom he distanced himself at a crucial moment. Irreverent and scandalous, for some. Both his literary and cinematic work constitute an essential reference point for an autonomous consciousness, unique to the extreme, which I invite you to revisit or discover.

You can find information about his biography in the reference given above. I wanted to remember and honor him, as I often do with beloved figures, through a microfiction, conceived as the artist attending a posthumous confession.

Perhaps my life is like a theorem, not because of how difficult it might be, but because of the complex existential dismay it contains.

I know that I have been, since my youth, a difficult individual, even for my family. I have tried to find some path in my life, although I know that none is straight, direct, or easy.

Poetry and narrative have been my refuge. However, being so rebellious, I found in cinema my most expeditious means of confronting the false morality of Western society, but also of reveling in sighs of freedom.

Through my films, I tried to confront the great difficulties we live with. In Salò, I exposed, without any shame, how absolute and despotic, fascist power can act (as it has) with the most unpunished right to rape. Far be it from me to condone what was shown there as the greatest affront to human dignity.

My sexual orientation bothered many, an orientation I embraced with integrity, without the fanfare of today; nevertheless, I was judged, harassed, and ultimately murdered—by an assassin, whether willing or hired, who was serving a sentence for my homosexuality, and perhaps for my radical critical activism.

I drew inspiration from the myths, legends, and ancient narratives of humanity's rich culture. Something of me will remain, intertwined in the contemporary exploration of those worlds.
