Movie Review: The Conjuring : The Last Rites
đť The Conjuring: Last Rites â Just Another Conjuring, Nothing to Shout About
I just watched The Conjuring: Last Rites, and honestly? Meh. Itâs not terrible, but itâs not memorable either. It feels like the series is closing its doors quietly instead of with the thrilling bang fans were hoping for. The film moves along like a checklist, delivering whatâs expected but rarely daring to go further.
𧊠Familiar Formula, No Surprises This installment leans heavily on the tried-and-tested Conjuring formula. Itâs polished, sure, but it lacks the freshness that made the earlier movies exciting. The tension doesnât build in the same way, and the scares feel like theyâve been pulled straight out of a well-worn playbook. If youâve seen the rest of the series, youâll know exactly where itâs going.
đ Strong Cast, Weak Impact The cast is solid as ever. The leads bring a warmth and intensity that keeps the movie afloat, and the supporting performances are competent. But no matter how good the acting is, the story never gives them the spark they need to create something truly memorable. Itâs like watching a band of skilled musicians playing a tune youâve heard too many times.
đ§ Emotion Over Horror Thereâs an effort to add depth and emotional weight, and while thatâs a nice touch, it comes at the expense of the scares. Instead of the edge-of-your-seat terror the franchise is known for, you get a softer, more sentimental tone. Itâs pleasant, even thoughtful at times, but this is supposed to be The Conjuring, the chills should come first.
đŁď¸ Final Verdict âď¸âď¸Â˝ / 5 Itâs fine. Itâs watchable. But it wonât linger in your mind. Longtime fans might appreciate the sense of closure, but anyone looking for a fresh, truly frightening experience will likely walk away wishing for more. The Conjuring: Last Rites feels less like a haunting and more like a gentle goodbye.
The moment I step into worship team and CG leadership, I have stopped watching these to keep my eye gate and ear gate accountable and seal off all open doors with the Blood.
It's also good because I never liked haunted stuffs. Oddly Constantine I am less intimidated.
Have you watch the movie (I cannot remember) the recent one about the true story where a psychologist interviewed a man who is to be sentence to death on the electric chair, and realised that the prisoner he is interviewing, was "someone else"?
I'll share with you next time.
Interesting. I cannot remember whether i have watched I Cannot remember before. LOL...
But sounds familiar to me.
