[Movie review] [Eng | Esp] The Fantastic Four: First Steps
Welcome my dear fantastic travelers of the internet and thank you very much for having made a temporary stop in my post, it has been a while since the last time I brought any Marvel product so today it is time to review the new version of “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” which is like the fifth reboot that these heroes have had. Without further ado, prepare to be affected by cosmic radiation because we are about to begin.
Bienvenidos mis queridos viajeros fantásticos del internet y muchas gracias por haber hecho una parada temporal en mi post, ha pasado un tiempo desde la última vez que traje algún producto de Marvel por lo que hoy toca hacer una reseña a la nueva versión de “The Fantastic Four: Firts Steps” que es como el quinto reinicio que tienen estos héroes. Sin más que agregar, prepárense para ser afectados por radiación cósmica pues estamos por comenzar.
The Fantastic Four: First Steps was released this year, it is based on the comic book counterparts from Marvel Comics, directed by Matt Shakman and produced by Marvel Studios, it is a 1 hour and 54 minute long film. It is a story of action and superheroes, the story takes place on Earth 828, a parallel world in which a group of astronauts embarked on a space mission, unfortunately this does not go as expected because they were exposed to cosmic rays which gave each of the members superpowers, with their new abilities they decide to form a team and do good, however, the peace they achieved in their world as well as personal good news will be overshadowed by a cosmic threat that threatens to wipe out the earth.
The Fantastic Four: Firts Steps fue estrenada este año, se encuentra basada en los comics homólogos de Marvel Comics, dirigida por Matt Shakman y producida por Marvel Studios, es un filme de 1 hora y 54 minutos de duración. Es una historia de acción y superhéroes, la historia se desarrolla en la Tierra 828, un mundo paralelo en el cual un grupo de astronautas se embarcaron en una misión espacial, desgraciadamente esta no sale según lo esperado debido a que se expusieron a rayos cósmicos los cuales les dieron a cada uno de los integrantes superpoderes, con sus nuevas habilidades deciden formar un equipo y hacer el bien, sin embargo, la paz que consiguieron en su mundo así como las buenas noticias personales serán eclipsadas por una amenaza cósmica que amenaza con acabar con la tierra.

The soundtrack is pleasant, it knows how to provide adequate accompaniment to the various situations in the film, however, it lacks that epic factor that characterizes Marvel superhero films.
La banda sonora es agradable, la misma sabe dar un acompañamiento adecuado a las diversas situaciones de la cinta, no obstante, le falta ese factor épico que caracteriza a los filmes de superhéroes de Marvel.
The world-building is simple but successful, many of the new films that Marvel makes have the problem of not fitting well with the general context of their cinematic universe, which is why developing this story on another earth is an easy and ingenious way to forget about that issue, on the other hand, it is nice that through elements of the setting information is given about various events, it does not contribute much to the narrative but serves as a nice way to give context. Something that is quite disappointing are the special effects, over the years the films that have these heroes have stood out for having impressive and very striking CGI, unfortunately this one does not stand out for that because its effects look quite dull, static and cardboard, even the Silver Surfer himself looks horrible when compared to the other version that was presented in the cinema a few years ago.
La construcción de mundo es simple pero acertada, muchos de los nuevos filmes que hace Marvel tienen el problema de no encajar de buena forma con el contexto general de su universo cinematográfico, es por ello que el hecho de desarrollar esta historia en otra tierra es una forma fácil e ingeniosa de olvidarse de ese tema, por otro lado, es agradable que mediante elementos de la ambientación se dé información sobre diversos eventos, no aporta mucho a la narrativa pero sirve como una forma agradable de dar contexto. Algo que resulta bastante decepcionante son los efectos especiales, a lo largo de los años los filmes que tienen estos héroes han destacado por tener un CGI impresionante y muy llamativo, lamentablemente este no destaca por ello debido a que sus efectos se ven bastante sosos, estáticos y acartonados, incluso el propio Silver Surfer se ve horrible si se le compara con la otra versión que se presentó en el cine hace algunos años.
The plot is simple and unambitious, it follows the formula of this style of films which is reduced only to having some revelations and then defeating the villain, all this without there being any interesting combat or that stands out in any way. Narratively there is not much to highlight, the film feels slow and with few interesting situations that make it stand out in any way, although this genre has never been characterized by its complex premises it has stood out for flashy combats and frenetic action, in this film neither of the two happens so it is very easy for it to become tedious and boring to watch, despite the fact that it has the average length of this type of film it feels longer than expected as a result of the lack of interesting moments.
La trama es sencilla y poco ambiciosa, la misma sigue la fórmula de este estilo de cintas la cual se reduce solo a tener algunas revelaciones y después derrotar al villano, todo esto sin que exista algún combate interesante o que destaque de alguna forma. Narrativamente no hay mucho que destacar, el filme se siente lento y con pocas situaciones interesantes que la hagan destacar de alguna forma, si bien este género nunca se ha caracterizado por sus premisas complejas si ha destacado por combates llamativos y acción frenética, en esta película no sucede ninguno de los dos por lo que es muy fácil que se haga tediosa y aburrida de ver, pese a que tiene la duración promedio de este tipo de películas se siente más larga de la cuenta producto de la falta de momentos interesantes.
The characters are good in general terms, they do not have any kind of development or anything similar and even in some moments their connections feel completely artificial and without foundation, which is why they go unnoticed, as a result of their poor and banal construction. The villain doesn't have much to offer, considering that from the source material he is a fairly simple character with a fairly clear objective, the only thing that could have saved him was the fact of having a presence that made him look imposing, powerful and frightening, all things that never happen so it ends up being wasted potential.
Los personajes están bien en líneas generales, no tienen ninguna clase de desarrollo ni nada que se le asemeje e incluso en algunos momentos sus conexiones se sienten completamente artificiales y sin fundamento, es por ello que estos pasan desapercibidos, producto de que tienen una construcción pobre y banal. El villano no tiene mucho que ofrecer, partiendo que desde el material original es un personaje bastante simple y con un objetivo bastante claro, lo único que pudo haberlo salvado era el hecho de tener una presencia que lo hiciese lucir imponente, poderoso y atemorizante, todas cosas que nunca suceden por lo que termina siendo potencial desperdiciado.
The Fantastic Four: First Steps is another Marvel movie of the bunch, it forgets the most important and interesting thing that these movies have, which is having impressive fights with choreographed blows that amaze and entertain the viewer, none of this happens so there are few moments in which it is interesting. It is for all of the above that it deserves 2 stars out of 7, not even the biggest Marvel lovers can defend this sleeping pill, the most notable thing is the inclusion of Franklin Richards.
The Fantastic Four: Firts Steps es otra película de Marvel del monton, se olvida de lo más importante e interesante que tienen estas películas que es el tener combates impresionantes con coreografías de golpes que asombren y entretengan al espectador, nada de esto sucede por lo que son pocos los momentos en que es interesante. Es por todo lo anterior que merece 2 estrellas de 7, ni los mayores amantes de Marvel pueden defender este somnífero, lo más destacable es la inclusión de Franklin Richards.

Es triste que descuidaran el guion y los efectos especiales, es una tendencia decadente de hacer todo flojo.
Hace falta directores y guionistas con una visión y un sentimiento de crear algo, levantar una aventura épica, pero me temo que se van a recostar en historias creadas por IA, y hacer obras baratas sin corazón.
Buena suerte en su próxima cinta.
El principal problema es querer apresurar los filmes sin darles un tiempo decente para poder encajar de buena forma los efectos especiales, está tendencia rancia por sacar productos muy rapido es lo que esta crucificando el género de superhéroes. Ni idea de si la IA hará las cosas peores o mejores, tocará esperar y ver, actualmente no es que tengamos mucha calidad.
