[Movie review] [Eng | Esp] Me Before You | A peculiar love story

Bienvenidos mis queridos viajeros amorosos del internet y muchas gracias por haber hecho una parada temporal en mi post, hay dos géneros que no son mucho de mi agrado que son el romance y los musicales, hoy pese a ello les traigo un filme romántico "Me Before You" la cual es la típica historia de amor imposible y demás. Sin más que agregar prepárense para ponerse melosos pues estamos por comenzar.

It is a film of romance and drama, the story focuses on Lou Clark, a quite pleasant 26-year-old girl who works in a cafeteria to help her family financially. Everything changes when she loses her job and has to look for a new one. job, after some setbacks he gets a new one which consists of taking care of Will, a young man who became quadriplegic after being hit by a motorcycle. Es una cinta de romance y drama, la historia se centra en Lou Clark una joven de 26 años bastante agradable que trabaja en una cafetería para ayudar económicamente a su familia, todo da un vuelco cuando se queda sin su trabajo y tiene que buscar un nuevo empleo, después de algunos tropiezos consigue uno nuevo el cual consiste en cuidar Will un joven que quedó tetrapléjico después de ser atropellado por una moto. Will es bastante sarcástico y desagradable producto de la incomodidad que le trae la condición en que se encuentra por lo que será Lou la que empiece lentamente a caerle bien para tratar de evitar que haga algo irreversible.

The soundtrack has nothing special, it is pleasant but lacks any piece of music that gives it any interesting character.

The world building houses quite beautiful landscapes but outside of that there is not much to highlight because it is roughly just a fairly typical city without something special that stands out in one way or another, the employment crisis could be delved into what the town has or its very precariousness, although it is never anything that is delved into so I will not fall into overanalyzing anything.
La construcción de mundo alberga paisajes bastante bonitos pero fuera de ello no hay mucho que destacar debido a que es a grandes rasgos solo una ciudad bastante típica sin algo especial que la destaque de una u otra forma, se podría profundizar en la crisis de empleo que tiene el pueblo o la misma precariedad del mismo aunque nunca es nada en lo que se profundice así que no caeré en sobre analizar nada.
The plot is quite predictable in broad strokes, the premise brings us to a girl from a humble family who meets an extremely unpleasant wealthy young man who gradually becomes friendlier with her until they fall in love and so on (What happens in 90% of films of this genre), the twist in this case is that the boy is disabled, giving a different touch to the matter; It is because of this that various risky and uncomfortable situations are generated that are interesting because they are seasoned with simple but effective comedy. The duration feels somewhat repetitive at some points, although it tries to make these repetitions important, some end up being boring, ignoring those tedious moments a little, the rest is fine.
La trama es bastante predecible a grandes rasgos, la premisa nos trae a una chica de familia humilde que conoce a un joven adinerado sumamente desagradable que paulatinamente se va haciendo más amigable con ella hasta que se enamoran y demás (Lo que pasa en el 90% de filmes de este género), el giro en este caso radica en que el chico es discapacitado dándole un toque diferente al asunto; es debido a esto que se generan diversas situaciones tanto de riesgo como incómodas que resultan interesantes debido a que están sazonadas con comedia sencilla pero efectiva. La cinta pone sobre la mesa el tema de la eutanasia y si está es o no correcta, esto le da cierto toque trágico a la película pero de cara a un debate o a una reflexión como tal no aporta mucho. La duración se siente algo repetitiva en algunos puntos, si bien intenta que estas repeticiones sean importantes algunas terminan siendo aburridas, obviando un poco esos momentos tediosos el resto está bien.
This is the most generic section it has, the protagonist is extremely clumsy for some reason, this is funny in some moments but a complete nonsense in other cases because it is only used to make her look more like an idiot, Will for his part may seem something depressing right off the bat, however being a quadriplegic it is completely understandable, in fact, it is annoying that some characters insist on questioning his state of mind knowing all the medications and limitations he has. Something that I always dislike about these films is that if the protagonist has a partner, he absolutely always has to be an idiot in some way or another, this is annoying because it feels like a justification regarding the infidelity that she commits. In general terms, none of the characters really have an interesting characterization, they are nice for some things they do but other than that there is not much to highlight.
Este es el apartado más genérico que tiene, la protagonista es extremadamente torpe por algún motivo, esto es gracioso en algunos momentos pero un completo despropósito en otros casos debido a que solo es empleado para hacerla quedar más como imbécil, Will por su parte puede parecer algo deprimente de buenas a primeras, no obstante siendo un tetrapléjico es completamente comprensible, de hecho, resulta molesto que algunos personajes se empeñen en cuestionarle su estado de ánimo a sabiendas de todos los medicamentos y limitaciones que tiene. Algo que siempre me desagrada de estos filmes es que si la protagonista tiene pareja absolutamente siempre este tiene que ser un idiota de alguna u otra forma, esto es molesto porque se siente como una justificación con respecto a la infidelidad que ella cómete. A rasgos generales ningún personaje tiene realmente una caracterización interesante, son agradables por algunas cosas que hacen pero fuera de ello no hay mucho que destacar.
Me Before You is not even remotely innovative in its genre, but at least it has a decent story with moderately pleasant characters. The conflict over whether euthanasia is justifiable or not passes without pain or glory as it does not really have a development as such, only It is presented without any interesting exploration or questioning. It is for all the above that it deserves 3 stars out of 7, it is in several aspects quite generic, at least it has one or another funny moment and some that make you think about some sad situations that some people must face.
Me Before You no es ni de lejos innovadora en su género pero por lo menos trae una historia decente con personajes medianamente agradables, el conflicto sobre si es justificable o no la eutanasia pasa sin pena ni gloria al no tener realmente un desarrollo como tal, solo es planteado sin tener ningún ápice de exploración o cuestionamiento interesante. Es por todo lo anterior que merece 3 estrellas de 7, es en varios aspectos bastante genérica, por lo menos tiene uno que otro momento gracioso y algunos que te hacen pensar en algunas situaciones tristes que deben enfrentar algunas personas.
