[Movie review] [Eng | Esp] Emancipation | Reallity always get over fiction
Welcome my dear oppressed internet travelers and thank you very much for having made a temporary stop in my post, Will Smith is one of my favorite actors being the protagonist of one of my favorite movies, that is why since I found out about the existence of "Emancipation" I had a fervent desire to see it since the subject of the American civil war and all the ideals that were present are very interesting making it almost a mandatory appointment for me. Without further ado, prepare to break the chains that hold you captive, for we are about to begin.
Bienvenidos mis queridos viajeros oprimidos del internet y muchas gracias por haber hecho una parada temporal en mi post, Will Smith es uno de mis actores favoritos siendo el protagonista de alguna de mis películas preferidas, es por ello que desde que supe de la existencia de "Emancipation" tuve un ferviente deseo de verla puesto que el tema de la guerra civil estadounidense y todos los ideales que se encontraban presentes son muy interesantes haciéndola casi una cita obligatoria para mí. Sin más que agregar prepárense para romper las cadenas que los mantienen cautivos pues estamos por comenzar.
Emancipation was released in 2022, it was directed by Antoine Fuqua and produced by Apple Studios, it has a duration of 2 hours and 12 minutes. It is an action and drama film, it is based on true events, it focuses on the life of Peter, an enslaved black man who is sold and separated from his family, with his loved ones in mind, he will be willing to risk his life, face their owners and even face the adversities that nature puts in front of him in order to see his wife and children again.
Emancipation fue estrenada en 2022, fue dirigida por Antoine Fuqua y producida por Apple Studios, cuenta con una duración de 2 horas y 12 minutos. Es una cinta de acción y drama, esta basada en hechos reales, se enfoca en la vida de Peter un hombre negro esclavizado el cual es vendido y separado de su familia, con sus seres queridos en mente estará dispuesto a jugarse la vida, enfrentarse a sus dueños e incluso plantar cara a las adversidades que la naturaleza le ponga en frente con tal de poder ver nuevamente a su esposa e hijos.

The soundtrack is absolutely captivating, it fits perfectly with the melancholic and sentimental tone that the film sustains throughout its duration.
La banda sonora es absolutamente cautivadora, esta encaja perfectamente con el tono melancólico y sentimental que el filme sostiene durante toda su duración.
The construction of the world is very depressing, which perfectly fits what the film wants to represent, the above means that the whole context was able to recreate in a good way that extremely cruel and ruthless historical moment on which it focuses. On the other hand, there is the fact that a gray scale filter was used for the film, which gives it personality and makes it look like a documentary of the time rather than a movie, being an interesting, pleasant and successful creative decision.
La construcción de mundo es muy deprimente lo que se ajusta perfectamente a lo que el filme desea representar, lo anterior hace que todo el contexto logré recrear de buena forma aquel momento histórico sumamente cruel y despiadado en el que se enfoca. Por otro lado está el hecho de que se utilizase un filtro de escala de grises para el filme lo que le da personalidad y lo hace ver como un documental de la época más que como una película, siendo una decisión creativa interesante, agradable y acertada.
The plot is a total success because it manages to perfectly capture both the cruelty and the inhuman treatment to which blacks were subjected when they were still considered slaves, the latter is done in such a good way that at all times the viewer feels seized with a feeling of impotence and solidarity for all the hardships that both the protagonist and the rest of the slaves are going through. The narrative is well executed since it triumphs with its suspenseful scenes due to the different moments of tension that it builds in an excellent way, these, hand in hand with the action, generate a correct balance so that the entire film feels loaded with interesting situations.
La trama es un total acierto debido a que consigue plasmar a la perfección tanto la crueldad como el trato inhumano al que eran sometidos los negros cuando aún eran considerados esclavos, esto último lo realiza de una forma tan buena que en todo momento el espectador se siente embargado de un sentimiento de impotencia y de solidaridad por todas las penurias que atraviesa tanto el protagonista como el resto de esclavos. La narrativa se encuentra bien ejecutada puesto que triunfa con sus escenas de suspenso debido a los diferentes momentos de tensión que construye de forma excelente, estos de la mano con la acción generan un correcto balance para que toda la cinta se sienta cargada de situaciones interesantes.
The protagonist is very plausible and has a very remarkable characterization when he shows himself as an individual who is tired of all the mistreatment to which he has been subjected and the moral bankruptcy that was abundant in those times, however his true value lies in how excellently he represents what it meant to be an enslaved black man in those times, something that he achieves splendidly and that produces genuine empathy for it. The rest of the characters only reinforce that concept because individually they do not have a noticeable or notable presence; the main antagonist does exactly that by representing the oppressive and bloodthirsty side of that storied American past.
El protagonista es muy plausible y posee una caracterización muy remarcable al mostrarse como un individuo que se encuentra cansado de todos los malos tratos a los que ha sido sometido y a la banca rota moral que se encontraba en abundancia en aquellos tiempos, sin embargo su verdadero valor radica en como representa de forma excelente lo que significaba ser un hombre negro esclavizado en esos tiempos, algo que consigue de forma espléndida y que produce una genuina empatía por este. El resto de personajes solo refuerzan ese concepto debido a que individualmente no tienen una presencia notoria ni destacable; el antagonista principal hace exactamente eso al representar a la parte opresora y sanguinaria de ese pasado histórico estadounidense.
Emancipation seeks to tell the story of both a survivor of slavery and a soldier who fought for his freedom, it is a film that is loaded with tragedies because it sticks to how cruel those times were. It is for all this that it deserves 3.5 stars out of 7, a raw film that I recommend for all those who want to see a little of what the American Civil War was like.
Emancipation busca contar la historia tanto de un sobreviviente de la esclavitud como de un soldado que luchó por su libertad, es un filme que se encuentra cargado de tragedias debido a que se apega a lo cruel que fueron esos tiempos. Es por todo ello que merece 3.5 estrellas de 7, una cinta cruda que recomiendo para todas aquellas personas que quieran ver un poco de cómo fue la guerra de secesión estadounidense.

Cuando se estrenó esta producción muchos hablaban de ella por esa situación qué pasó dicho personaje y sobre todo la manera como enfocaron esos hechos reales en la misma y desde ese momento la dejé pasar y me olvidé de esta película, ahora viendo esta reseña cuenta con una trama bastante interesante y sin duda un género que es muy bueno y estoy seguro de que lograron transmitir ese mensaje que buscan siendo una situación que nos pone a pensar y porque esa clases de personas tienen que pasar por eso. Gracias por compartirlo con nosotros.
