[Movie review] [Eng | Esp] Killer Elite
Welcome my dear professional killers of the internet and thank you very much for making a temporary stop in my post, action films are always a good option to pass the time, there have been many reviews that I have uploaded of this type of films that are starring Jason Statham, in this case we have a movie entitled "Killer Elite" which not only comes loaded with countless scenes of violence but also of various creative ways to end the life of a so-and-so and make it look like an accident. Without further ado, get ready to eliminate your targets, because we are about to begin.
Bienvenidos mis queridos asesinos profesionales del internet y muchas gracias por haber hecho una parada temporal en mi post, los filmes de acción siempre son una buena opción para pasar el rato, no han sido pocas la reseñas que he subido de este tipo de cintas que son protagonizadas por Jason Statham, en este caso nos reúne una película titulada “Killer Elite” la cual no solo viene cargada de incontables escenas de violencia sino también de diversas formas creativas de acabar con la vida de un fulano y que la misma parezca un accidente. Sin más que agregar prepárense para eliminar a sus objetivos pues estamos por comenzar.
Killer Elite is a British film released in 2011, it is based on the book "The Feather Men" published in 1991 and written by Sir Ranulph Fiennes, directed by Gary McKendry, produced by Omnilab Media, Ambience Entertainment, among others, it has a duration of 1 hour and 56 minutes. It is an action film, the story focuses on a group of assassins who are in Mexico to eliminate a man, the thing is that one of its members named Danny is the one who gives the touch of grace to the target without realizing that a child would be his witness, the face of horror of the infant would lead him to retire from the world of professional murders, however, some time after that assignment, after the kidnapping of one of his comrades, he will be forced to resort to his old comrades in order to fulfill the job and save the life of his friend and avoid his execution, a task that will not be easy due to the events in which the objectives in question were involved.
Killer Elite es un filme británico estrenado en 2011, se encuentra basada en el libro “The Feather Men” publicado en 1991 y escrito por Sir Ranulph Fiennes, dirigido por Gary McKendry, producida por Omnilab Media, Ambience Entertainment, entre otras, cuenta con una duración de 1 hora y 56 minutos. Es un filme de acción, la historia se centra en grupo de asesinos los cuales se encuentran en México para eliminar a un hombre, el asunto es que uno de sus miembros llamado Danny es el que le da el toque de gracia al objetivo sin percatarse de que un niño sería su testigo, la cara de horror del infante lo llevaría a retirarse del mundo de los asesinatos profesionales, sin embargo, tiempo después de aquel encargo, tras el secuestro de uno de sus camaradas se verá en la obligación de recurrir a sus viejos camaradas para poder cumplir con el trabajo y salvar la vida de su amigo y evitar su ejecución, tarea que no será sencilla debido a los eventos en los que se vieron involucrados los objetivos en cuestión.

The soundtrack is fine in general terms, it is essentially a pleasant accompaniment to the various action scenes of the film, apart from the above, there is not much else that can be highlighted from this section.
La banda sonora está bien en líneas generales, la misma es en esencia un acompañamiento agradable para las diversas escenas de acción de la cinta, fuera de lo anterior, no hay mucho más que se pueda destacar de este apartado.
The construction of the world is not directly something interesting, it is supposed that the context in which the events are wrapped must be striking due to the involvement of one of the main British special forces, however, this is not really something that attracts attention as a result of this section. On the other hand, there is the setting in which the different murders take place, although this is not something extremely impressive, at least it makes them interesting and gives some enrichment to the section.
La construcción de mundo no es directamente algo interesante, se supone que el contexto en el que se envuelven los acontecimientos debe de ser llamativo debido a la implicación de una de las principales fuerzas especiales británicas, no obstante, esto no es realmente algo que llame la atención producto de este apartado. Por otro lado, se tiene la ambientación en la que se desenvuelven los diferentes asesinatos, si bien esto no es algo sumamente impresionante, por lo menos los hace interesantes y da algo de enriquecimiento al apartado.
The plot is quite striking, from the beginning it is clear that it is one of those films that has an abundant amount of action and epic moments, however, what gives it a certain more striking touch is the fact that there are 3 organizations that are acting for their own interests: One in favor of assassinating the targets, another trying to protect them, and, the last and most mysterious during much of the film, one that does not want to be discovered his participation in shady actions and his obvious relationship with the aforementioned ones, all this does not amount to much but at least it is interesting enough that the film is not boring. Narratively there is not much additional to the information exposed above, although the film tries to have a complex premise beyond the murders it fails miserably in its intentions, fortunately, its violent content pulls the chestnuts out of the fire and keeps it moderately interesting.
La trama es bastante llamativa, desde el vamos se deja claro el hecho de que es de esos filmes que tiene una cantidad abundante de acción y momentos épicos, no obstante, lo que le da cierto toque más llamativo a la misma es el hecho de que existen 3 organizaciones que se encuentran obrando por sus propios intereses: Una en pro de asesinar a los objetivos, otra tratando de protegerlos, y, la última y más misteriosa durante gran parte de la película, una que no quiere que se descubra su participación en acciones turbias y su evidente relación con las antes mencionadas, todo esto no llega a mucho pero por lo menos resulta lo suficientemente interesante como para que la cinta no sea aburrida. Narrativamente no hay mucho adicional a la información antes expuesta, si bien la película trata de tener una premisa compleja más allá de los asesinatos la misma falla estrepitosamente en sus intenciones, afortunadamente, su contenido violento le saca las castañas del fuego y la mantiene medianamente interesante.
The characters are nothing to write home about, from the protagonist to the secondary ones none of them have any kind of development that makes them feel interesting individually, if there is something that can be highlighted is the professional philosophy that is emphasized several times during the film which says that a professional assassin should only focus on his objective without causing any casualties unless it is very necessary, Curiously, the only murderers who survive are those who best adhere to this professional code. It is necessary to highlight the desire of the protagonist to get rid of a life so stained with blood, however, this only remains as an underdeveloped idea because it is thrown into the air and is not explored beyond establishing that he is already tired of so much blood, apart from that there is nothing more to highlight in this section.
Los personajes no son nada del otro mundo, desde el protagonista hasta los secundarios ninguno tiene alguna clase de desarrollo que los haga sentir interesantes individualmente, si hay algo que se puede destacar es la filosofía profesional de la que se hace énfasis en varias oportunidades durante el filme la cual reza que un asesino profesional únicamente debe enfocarse en su objetivo sin causar ninguna baja a menos que sea muy necesaria, curiosamente los únicos asesinos que sobreviven son los que mejor se apegan a dicho código profesional. Es menester destacar el deseo del protagonista por librarse de una vida tan teñida de sangre, no obstante, esto solo se queda como una idea poco desarrollada debido a que se lanza al aire y no es explorada más allá de establecer que ya se encuentra cansado de tanta sangre, fuera de ello no hay más nada para destacar en este apartado.
Killer elite is an interesting film no matter how you look at it, it has a good number of action scenes that make it attractive since they range from an unbridled action sequence to moments of high pressure and cold thinking to carry out movements with the greatest possible stealth, to all this is added the emphasis of a professional code of those who are dedicated to the professional elimination of targets, which is not the most wonderful thing in the world but at least it results in an eye-catching concept. It is for all of the above that it deserves 3 stars out of 7, although its attempts to have a complex story end in failure because it does not know how to properly explore the themes it puts on the table, at least it has a good number of adrenaline moments that allow it to make something quite enjoyable, highly recommended for those who want to see men fighting like savages all the time.
Killer elite es una cinta interesante se mire por donde se mire, tiene una buena cantidad de escenas de acción que la hacen atractiva puesto que van desde una desenfrenada secuencia de acción hasta momentos de alta presión y pensamiento frío para llevar a cabo movimientos con el mayor sigilo posible, a todo esto se le suma el énfasis de un código profesional de aquellos que se dedican a la eliminación profesional de objetivos, lo cual no es lo más maravillo del mundo pero por lo menos resulta en un concepto llamativo. Es por todo lo anterior que merece 3 estrellas de 7, si bien sus intentos por tener una historia compleja terminan en fracaso por no saber explorar correctamente los temas que pone sobre la mesa, por lo menos tiene una buena cantidad de momentos adrenalínicos que permiten hacerla algo bastante disfrutable, muy recomendable para los que quieran ver a hombres peleando como salvajes a cada rato.
