[Movie review] [Eng | Esp] Rebel Moon - Part 1: A Child of Fire
Welcome my dear space travelers of the internet and thank you very much for having made a temporary stop in my post, right off the bat I will tell you that I am not a fan of science fiction films, however, from time to time it is interesting to give it a try to these types of films so I decided to watch "Rebel Moon - Part 1: A Child of Fire" to see what it had to offer. Without further ado, prepare to face a totalitarian government because we are about to begin.
Bienvenidos mis queridos viajeros espaciales del internet y muchas gracias por haber hecho una parada temporal en mi post, de buenas a primeras les diré que no soy un fanático de los filmes de ciencia ficción, no obstante, de vez en cuando resulta interesante darle una oportunidad a este tipo de películas por lo que me dispuse a ver "Rebel Moon - Part 1: A Child of Fire" para ver qué tenía para ofrecer. Sin más que agregar prepárense para enfrentarse a un gobierno totalitario pues estamos por comenzar.
Rebel Moon - Part 1: A Child of Fire was released in 2023, directed by Zack Snyder, produced by The Stone Quarry and Grand Electric, it has a duration of 2 hours and 15 minutes, it is a science fiction and action film, the story a small peaceful town on a planet on the edge of the galaxy, which survives thanks to sowing crops, however, one day everything changes when a suspicious ship manages to be seen in the sky, the kingdom's army is known for taking what they get. come and destroy whatever they please, so the residents entrust one of its inhabitants to embark on a search for warriors to help them protect their home.
Rebel Moon - Part 1: A Child of Fire fue estrenada en 2023, dirigida por Zack Snyder, producida por The Stone Quarry y Grand Electric, cuenta con una duración de 2 horas y 15 minutos, es un filme de ciencia ficción y acción, la historia un pequeño pueblo pacífico en un planeta al borde de la galaxia, los cuales sobreviven gracias a la siembra, sin embargo, un día todo cambia cuando una nave sospechosa logra divisarse en el cielo, el ejército del reino es conocido por tomar lo que les venga en gana y arrasar con lo que les plazca, por lo que los pobladores le encomiendan a una de sus habitantes que se embarcarque en una búsqueda de guerreros que les ayuden a proteger su hogar.

The soundtrack is not really anything spectacular, it has one or another interesting moment but other than that it does not present anything notable.
La banda sonora no es realmente nada espectacular, tiene uno que otro momento interesante pero fuera de ello no presenta nada destacable.
The world building is somewhat disappointing, something that is pleasant to see in science fiction are worlds that stand out for having diverse things and that have their own personality and that from the start make it clear that it is a world totally different from ours, unfortunately This is never seen because the overall setting has nothing interesting about it, which reduces it to complete wasted potential. Socially there is not much that is offered, it seems like a mix between the old west and the monarchy in a spatial context, at the same time, its society does not really have any kind of characteristic element or that fits with the premise of unscrupulous leaders.
La construcción de mundo es algo decepcionante, algo que es agradable de ver de la ciencia ficción son mundos que se destaquen por tener cosas diversas y que tengan su propia personalidad y que desde el vamos dejen claro que es un mundo totalmente diferente al nuestro, desgraciadamente esto no se ve en ningún momento debido a que la ambientación en general no tiene nada interesante, lo que lo reduce a un completo potencial desperdiciado. Socialmente no hay mucho que se ofrezca, parece una mezcla entre el viejo oeste y la monarquía en un contexto espacial, a su vez, su sociedad no tiene realmente ninguna clase de elemento característico o que se acople con la premisa de líderes inescrupulosos.
The plot reminds me to a large extent of that of the retro film "Seven Samurais" (Although that one is done thousands of times better) since it focuses on the search for warriors who are willing to face injustice, the above sounds nice but it is somewhat tedious on paper because there are few moments that are really interesting, the few that are entertaining are due to good action choreography although other than that there is nothing else. Narratively it is basic, everything focuses on the achievement of an objective, however, throughout the film very little information is given about different elements that are supposed to be important, such as: The monarchy, how the army works, the insurgents, etc., all this lack of exploration means that the data does not feel well entered and loses importance, in addition, many of them feel incomplete so a lot of information leaves more doubts than answers, on the other hand, this also has a negative impact on the plot twists that feel completely forced and boring. These types of films need a generous amount of time to be developed correctly, however, it is not used intelligently so it has several moments that feel very tedious.
La trama me recuerda en gran medida a la del filme retro "Seven Samurais" (Aunque esa está hecha miles de veces mejor) puesto que se centra en la búsqueda de guerreros que estén dispuestos a enfrentar a la injusticia, lo anterior suena bonito pero resulta algo tediosa en papel debido a que son pocos los momentos que realmente son interesantes, los pocos que son entretenidos se deben buenas coreografías de acción aunque fuera de ello no hay más nada. Narrativamente es básica, todo se centra en la consecución de un objetivo, sin embargo, a lo largo del filme se dan muy pocos datos sobre diferentes elementos que se supone son importantes, tales como: La monarquía, cómo funciona el ejército, los insurgentes, etc., toda esta falta de exploración hace que los datos no se sientan bien introducidos y pierdan importancia, además, muchos de ellos se sienten incompletos por lo que mucha información deja más dudas que respuestas, por otro lado, esto también repercute negativamente en los giros argumentales que se sienten completamente forzados y aburridos. Este tipo de filmes necesitan una cantidad generosa de tiempo para poderse desarrollar correctamente, sin embargo, este no es utilizado de forma inteligente por lo que tiene varios momentos que se sienten muy tediosos.

Rebel Moon - Part 1: A Child of Fire is an interesting concept regarding a totalitarian space government that does as it pleases with the worlds in its charge, however, that premise alone is not enough to maintain interest in any way. constant, so it can quickly cause boredom due to its lack of interesting narrative, its empty characters and its insipid worlds. It is for all the above that it deserves 2 stars out of 7, I am curious if the sequel they plan for this year will be a little more decent than the present film, which to be honest has many flaws and leaves a lot to be desired.
Rebel Moon - Part 1: A Child of Fire es un concepto interesante con respecto a un gobierno espacial totalitario que hace lo que le place con los mundos a su cargo, no obstante, solo esa premisa no es suficiente como para mantener el interés de forma constante, por lo que rápidamente puede causar aburrimiento por su falta de narrativa interesante, sus personajes vacíos y sus mundos insípidos. Es por todo lo anterior que merece 2 estrellas de 7, me da curiosidad si la secuela que planean para este año llegará a ser un poco más decente que el presente filme, que siendo honesto tiene muchas fallas y deja bastante que desear.
