Welcome my dear travelers defenders of the internet and thank you very much for having made a temporary stop in my post, the other day I wanted to see a movie but I wanted it to be a surprise so I went to my reliable list and chose one at random, after all this protocol the film that came out was "The Devil's Advocate" film that already by the name caught my attention a lot. Without further ado, get ready to sell your soul to the supreme villain because we are about to begin.
Bienvenidos mis queridos viajeros defensores del internet y muchas gracias por haber hecho una parada temporal en mi post, el otro día tenía ganas de ver una película pero quería que fuese una sorpresa por lo que me fui a mi confiable lista y escogía una al azar, tras todo este protocolo la cinta que salió fue “The Devil's Advocate” filme que ya por el nombre me llamaba bastante la atención. Sin más que agregar, prepárense para vender su alma al villano supremo pues estamos por comenzar.
The Devil's Advocate was released in 1997, is based on the book of the same name published in 1990 and written by Andrew Neiderman, directed by Taylor Hackford and produced by Regency Enterprises, has a duration of 2 hours and 24 minutes. It is a supernatural thriller, the story focuses on a young lawyer named Kevin Lomax, despite having a short career he is undefeated in the courts and after winning the case of a teacher accused of sexual abuse he receives an important offer, it gives him the possibility of leaving his small town in Florida with his wife and traveling to New York, What he did not take into account was how dangerous that city can be.
The Devil's Advocate fue estrenada en 1997, se encuentra basada en el libro homónimo publicado en 1990 y escrito por Andrew Neiderman, dirigida por Taylor Hackford y producida por Regency Enterprises, cuenta con una duración de 2 horas y 24 minutos. Es un filme de suspenso sobrenatural, la historia se centra en un joven abogado llamado Kevin Lomax, pese a tener una carrera corta se encuentra invicto en los juzgados y tras ganar el caso de un maestro acusado de abuso sexual recibe una importante oferta, la misma le da la posibilidad de salir de su pequeño pueblo de Florida junto con su esposa y viajar hasta New York, lo que este no tomó en cuenta fue lo peligrosa que puede llegar a ser dicha ciudad.

The soundtrack is pleasant, it fits very well with the various scenes that the film presents, this section is quite versatile and adapts well to the different needs of the film.
La banda sonora es agradable, la misma encaja muy bien con las diversas escenas que va presentando la cinta, este apartado es bastante versátil y se adapta de buena forma a las distintas necesidades del filme.
The construction of the world is curious, with the passing of the tape this section is used to show as various dark and disturbing things are taking more and more place, however, this happens in a very steep and direct way, if it had worked with more subtile would have surrounded the tape of a halo of mysticism that would have established a plausible doubt about whether what happens is real or not within the logic of the tape. La construcción del mundo es curiosa, con el transcurrir de la cinta este apartado se utiliza para ir mostrando como diversas cosas oscuras y perturbadoras van tomando cada vez más lugar, no obstante, esto sucede de forma muy abrupta y directa, si se hubiese trabajado con más sutiliza habría rodeado a la cinta de un halo de misticismo que habría establecido una duda plausible sobre si lo que sucede es real o no dentro de la lógica de la cinta. A nivel social no hay mucho que destacar, lo que se puede resaltar es el hecho de que conforme el protagonista más se sumerge en su nuevo trabajo, más depravado se vuelve su entorno.

La trama es bastante interesante y atrapante, al igual que en el apartado anterior las cosas van escalando conforme avanza la cinta, lo anterior lleva a que los casos tengan un compromiso ético mucho más remarcado y a que las diferentes cosas sobrenaturales sean cada vez más frecuentes y perturbadoras, esta dupla hace que el filme sea muy interesante. Narrativamente no es muy compleja, desde el vamos se deja claro que todos estos juicios pondrán en tela de juicio tanto la moralidad como la ética del protagonista, sin embargo, como un todo también la misma se puede tomar como una metáfora de la propia profesión del derecho en sí misma, debido a que se establece de forma implícita que el hecho de ser “declarado inocente” no implica que la persona realmente lo sea, todo este cúmulo de elementos son los que hacen que la película se mantenga interesante, a su vez, los giros argumentales que tiene son esperables más no aportan realmente mucho a la premisa como tal.

Mediante el protagonista se puede explorar un concepto interesante como lo es la ética, conforme la cinta avanza, cada vez se le plantean situaciones más fuertes, se comienza a gestar una duda de si las mismas valen la pena, a su vez, se pone sobre la mesa el hecho de que pese a que no cometió nada ilegal si permitió que existiese la posibilidad de que dichas cosas volvieran a pasar, esto instaura el concepto de que toda acción tiene consecuencias, lo cual encaja muy bien con la temática del filme. Con Mary Ann sucede algo curioso, si bien individualmente es un personaje bastante aburrido, es interesante como su puesto como pareja del protagonista se utiliza para ir evidenciando como sus acciones van teniendo consecuencias por involucrarse cada vez más con dinero sangriento, el resto de personajes no son importantes, fungen más como complemento que como otra cosa. El villano, por su parte, tiene buena presencia, no es algo maravilloso pero cumple con un rol de siempre andar tentando y haciendo pecar a los demás, a lo largo de la cinta se le da una razón para dicho comportamiento, lo que está bien en líneas generales.
The Devil's Advocate is a tape interesting, houses a great number of moral dilemmas which are very eye-catching, however, not everything is perfect, your pace is a little subtle so it doesn't feel like a natural progression, in addition, the lack of characterization of its characters is something that weighs quite a bit, along with the fact that many data are only thrown without much context for what they feel hurried and entered a little way organic. This is why it deserves 3.5 stars out of 7, this is interesting because of the various predicaments that raises and by the parallelism with what a lawyer can face throughout their working life, and I recommend it if you like this kind of topic because in the opposite case, they will be very difficult to see more than 2 hours of film.
The Devil's Advocate es una cinta interesante, alberga gran cantidad de dilemas morales los cuales resultan muy llamativos, sin embargo, no todo es perfecto, su ritmo es poco sutil por lo que no se siente como un avance natural, además, la falta de caracterización de sus personajes es algo que pesa bastante, sumado al hecho de que muchos datos solo son aventados sin mucho contexto por lo que se sienten apresurados e introducidos de una forma poco orgánica. Es por todo lo anterior que merece 3.5 estrellas de 7, esta interesante por los diversos predicamentos que plantea y por el paralelismo con lo que un abogado puede afrontar a lo largo de su vida laboral, recomendable si les gustan ese tipo de temas debido a que en caso contrario se les hará muy difícil ver más de 2 horas de película.
