Loving Stories at an Early Age

As a kid, I often stayed glued to the television from the moment I woke up in the morning on a Saturday until late at night. If I don't have anything planned and if there are no pending projects for submission, then I'm watching my favorite shows on the TV. I usually get time exercising during the week; playing sports during breaks and evenings practicing with the varsity team. Plus, I spend an enormous amount of time on the basketball court playing with friends. We also have sports club twice a month, so I get two weekends off in a month. So, if my friends don't ask me out, I won't be coming out of the house.

Law & Order: SVU

I like watching movies and series on Netflix. It's portable, easily searchable, and the recommendations aren't bad. In fact, it has been recommending to me based on my profile and, maybe, the stuff that I watched on the platform before. I recently started Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, which had been appearing in my recommendations for quite a bit already, but only now have I had the chance to check it out. I guess I'm already tired of watching another police detective/CSI/action/legal drama story that I hesitated a few times before I finally had the opportunity to see what it is all about; boredom has its uses at times.

A quick search said that it has an 8.1/10 on IMDb, 78% on Rotten Tomatoes, and 66% Metacritic rating. So, the audience loved it. I began watching season 6 and I get why it is so popular. I'm immediately hooked. The true-to-life based cases, nice pacing, great acting,good story arc, and narrative that really hits it right on the spot. Stabler and Benson has chemistry and genuine connection.

Aside from the main characters, the story line focuses more on the case and how it plays out after a crime had been committed. The unfolding of the suspects, the discovery of clues, analysis and legal procedures all contribute to a captivating storytelling, that I've managed to reach Episode 10 in a few days. It's fascinating how I managed to stay up late at night even if I'm already too sleepy. It's a thing to blog in itself.

I'm now at a stage where I can say that I like this series, but it's still a question of how long will this last. There's only so many repetitions of a plot that one can watch until it all gets boring or an episode where they tried to experiment and I lose interest in the show because of it. Stay tuned to find out in the future.

Coffee Talk

I discovered a quaint little coffee shop near our place and had a chance to sample their coffee. They coffee was good, but it wasn't great coffee. Maybe it's because we already have coffee that resonates with our taste buds and brings joy to everyone who taste it. It has a modern, clean, and small design elements that work. The furniture was the right size, the chairs were perfect for the place, and the lighting, adequate. We can see that even if the space was small, they put a lot of thought into making the flow easy for the customers. I give them high marks for this.

Anyways, I will still support this coffee place because it's a local business, employing people from the community, and provide a personalized service that you won't see in the big, established coffee chains. If they become successful, it will add another stepping stone for the local economy to flourish.

And, that's it for today. Thanks for dropping by and checking out my blog post. It has been a joy for me to upload this post, so hopefully you enjoyed reading it.

Love and peace,
@juanvegetarian 😎
