A Review Of One Of My Favorite Cartoons- Zootopia

One thing you should know about me is that I love cartoons and cheesy movies. I'm such a romantic to my core. “Favour, you're too old to still be watching cartoons.” I can't count the number of times I've heard this from my siblings and friends. There's no specific age to stop watching cartoons. I enjoy watching them, so I'm going to keep watching them as long as I like. “I'm not a kid, why would I watch cartoons?” I still don't understand why people think watching cartoons is only meant for kids. If you're one of those that think watching cartoons is silly, you really do not know what you're missing out on. There are lots of amazing cartoons out there, but you're missing out because “they are silly movies,” right? I've learnt a lot of things from watching cartoons. I learnt about the Trojan War (a mythological war between Greek and Roman warriors) when I watched “Mr. Peabody and Shearman. I also learned about Sigmund Freud- the man who discovered the theory of psychoanalysis.

In this post, I'll be sharing a review of one of my favorite cartoons- Zootopia. One of the reasons why I love this movie so much is that Shakira, one of my favorite singers, is a character. Plus, I love it when movie writers use plot twists. Zootopia is a cartoon that explores the theme of family, adventure, dreams, reality, and appearance versus reality.

“You can only be what you are.” This is one of my favorite lines from one of my all-time best cartoons- Zootopia. The harsh truth about life is that; you can only be what you are. I know, it's hard to believe. A lot of motivational speakers are going to flare up when they hear this, but that is just the truth about life. As the story progresses, the character that uttered that statement later changed his words. He joined the team “Dream big and don't let anyone tell you that you can't be what you want to be,” team. It's kind of a complicated thing. On one hand, dream big and you can be whoever you want to be. On the other hand, you can only be what you are.

The movie revolves around Judy Hoops, a determined bunny who strongly believes in dreams. She believes that as long as you put your heart into something, you’d achieve it. Her dream is to become a cop and work in Zootopia; a place where you can be anything you want. In the history of her city, they have never had a bunny cop. People make fun of her, and even her parents tried to convince her to turn away from her dream to become a police officer. However, Judy Hoops stayed strong until she became a police officer.

The Mayor of Zootopia employs her in the city- her dream city. She leaves her parents' city- Bunny burrow to start her new job in Zootopia. Her dream has always been to fight crime, sadly, the chief of the police department places her in parking duties. Judy learns from a sly fox and a street rookie: Nick Wilde, the reality of Zootopia. Judy thought Zootopia would be a place where anyone can become anything. A place where all predators and prey get along. He learns that Zootopia is a place where you can only be what you are and that predators and prey don’t get along.

As the story progresses, Judy Hoops teams up with Nickolas Wilde to uncover a case of missing mammals. It happens that the assistant mayor- a rabbit, conspired with other bad people to destroy all predators. This is because she feels prey are seen as weak. The two finally solve the conspiracy and restore harmony between predators and prey.

One important lesson I learned from this movie is the importance of making compliments and helping people. Complimenting people can go a long way to brighten up their day. It wouldn’t hurt to say things like “You look dashing this morning! I love your hair. I love your smile and so on.” In the movie, Judy compliments Fru Fru (the daughter of a don) and saves her from being squashed by a giant donut. “I love your hair.” In turn, Fru Fru helped her when she was in danger. She also helped her in her journey to solve the missing mammal case.

I love this movie so much. This movie provided catharsis for me, allowing me to think deeply and process my feelings. I was so emotional when Judy Hoops almost ruined her friendship with Nick Wilde. The movie also chips in comedy- it makes use of humor and interesting dialogue. This movie gets a 5 out of 5 stars.

Note: all images are pictures I took on my laptop otherwise stated.

Thanks for reading.

It is always good to see this type of film, since beyond animation, you can find great messages that are very inspiring and important for all ages. This one that you share with us I had the opportunity to see it and I really liked it, where that little friend has to do many things to show that she can be part of the police, as well as good moments of lots of laughter and fun. Great that you enjoyed that great moment.
