Recently I have found myself searching for oldy movies. Typically the ones made in the 90's. I was going for movies that portrays wealth, stock market, business or not limiting yourself. I compiled a list of the movies I would see after searching google and finding recommendations. I came up a list. I will drop it at the end of this post.

I started with "The Wolf of Wall Street". It was pretty refreshing for me because I haven't seen a movie in a while now. I hated that its the holidays but I was still getting myself worked up about things I couldn't control.

I think I fell in love with the movie immediately I saw that Leonardo DiCaprio, the protagonist in the famous movie Titanic was also an actor here. He played his role astonishingly as always.

The wolf of wall street is all about a guy named Jordan Belfort, he was keen on making money. He got a job at wall street and he learnt to convince people to purchase stocks. Basically, he was a stock-broker. I won't lie, he was a really good sweet-talker.

This is one of the highlights from watching this movie.

The "Sell me this pen" scene isn't really about the pen; it's about creating demand by first understanding the buyer's needs, not just listing features. The key is to ask questions like "What do you use pens for?" to uncover a need like signing documents or making notes, then demonstrate how this specific pen fulfills that need, turning a simple object into something valuable to them.

I learnt a lot about selling from that one scene. I would typically start listing features of a product than actually understanding the buyers needs and selling value instead. I guess the scene shifted my paradigm.

His wife Naomi was quite attractive, Lol. Maybe I was jealous a lot of the whole romance between them.

It was only sad that he divorced his first wife to marry Naomi. Their love life started as a fulfilled fantasy but then the money and fun got to Jordan Belforts head and he messed up both marriages.

Donnie Azoff has to be the craziest character in this movie. He legit quit his job because Jordan showed him proof of having money to afford certain things.

Jordan eventually employed him and then showed him the robes of the business and they made a lot of money together, mostly illegally thou LOL.

Final Thoughts and Rating

Overall, I can say Wolf of Wall Street was worth the hype. Let me be honest, there was a lot of sex, party and drugs in this movie but it was also filled with knowledge of business, being witty with selling and never taking No for an answer as a salesman.

✨ Oh yeah, I almost forgot.

Here is the list I compiled:
