El fin pasado estaa buscando en la tele una película que ver con mi hijo, pasamos rato decidiendo que ver porque el se orienta más a las películas de terror y yo a la acción, y no es que no me guste el terror pero creo que eso depende del ánimo en que estés. Bueno después de tanto buscar conseguimos Bullet Train que salió en 2022 y la verdad nos gustó bastante a los dos porque yo la vi sin ninfuna expectativa no esperaba mucho de ella pero terminó siendo más entretenida de lo que pensaba, si es perfecta no pero definitivamente es buena y eso ya es bastante considerando la cantidad de mierdas que han salido últimamente. La película te mete en un tren bala japonés lleno de asesinos que están detrás de lo mismo y aunque el concepto de un montón de asesinos raros persiguiendo una sola cosa ya se ha hecho antes igual que las películas de acción en trenes, lograron hacerlo funcionar y eso es lo que importa, quizás tomaron un par de conceptos que ya existían y los hicieron suyos, de verdad que me disfruté de principio a fin esta peli de acción comedia y a mi hijo también le gustó bastante, de hecho ya ha buscado otras pelis de acción que son viejitas para que las veamos.

Brad Pitt hace el papel de Lady bug que es un asesino con mala suerte que está tratando de cambiar su vida y volverse más zen, el tipo está en terapia y todo tratando de ser mejor persona pero obviamente el universo tiene otros planes para el. Lo mandan a una misión super simple jajaja eso cree el, que solo tiene que subirse al tren agarrar un maletín y bajarse pero nada sale como deberia porque el tren está lleno de otros asesinos y todos están conectados de alguna manera que el no entiende al principio, Lady bug es el tipo de personaje que Brad Pitt hace muy bien porque tiene ese carisma natural y al mismo tiempo puede hacer comedia sin que se sienta forzado. El personaje está siempre hablando sobre el destino y la mala suerte mientras todo a su alrededor se va al carajo de las maneras más violentas y caóticas posibles, hay algo muy gracioso en ver a un tipo tratando de ser pacífico y calmado mientras está rodeado de violencia extrema y eso es todo el viaje de Lady bug en esta película, de hecho el carajo ni siquiera se lleva una pistola. Eso de que wl tren tiene a los otros asesinos es lo que hace que la película funcione porque cada encuentro es diferente y tiene su propia energía, algunos son más cómicos otros son más tensos pero todos dan algo a la historia.

Los otros asesinos en el tren son igual de interesantes y cada uno tiene su propia personalidad y estilo, está Tangerine y Lemon si así mismo el nombre es bien gracioso, estos son dos hermanos britanicos que trabajan juntos y su relación es lo mejor de toda la película. Tangerine es el más serio y profesional mientras que Lemon está obsesionado con Thomas el tren y usa los personajes de la serie para analizar a las personas, suena ridículo y lo es pero funciona porque el actor lo vende muy bien, la forma en que Lemon explica que todos son como un personaje de Thomas es medio absurda y al principio no lo entiendes pero termina siendo verdad. Luego está Prince que es una muchacha joven que parece inocente pero es todo lo contrario bueno la verdad no me comí su cuento, claro en la peli tampoco lo esconde ara uno pero trata de engalar a los demás en el tren, ella es el personaje más peligroso de todos porque nadie la ve venir y usa eso a su favor manipulando a todos a su alrededor. Wolf es otro asesino que sube al tren buscando venganza por algo que pasó en su boda y su escena es brutal y rápida pero deja una impresión, el tipo esta vestido con un traje de boda manchado de sangre y solo quiere matar a quien sea responsable de arruinar su vida. Y finalmente esta The Hornet que es una asesina que usa veneno de una serpiente y tiene sus propias razones para estar en el tren, cada uno de ellos tiene su propia historia pero todos terminan chocando entre si de manera inesperada.

La trama en si es bastante simple pero se vuelve más compleja mientras avanza porque todas las historias de los personajes están conectadas de formas que no esperas al principio, todo gira alrededor de un maletín con dinero y el hijo de un jefe de la mafia japonesa que está en el tren. El jefe de la mafia conocido como White Death es el malo principal aunque no aparece sino hasta el final, claro al tipo siempre lo mencionan durante toda la película porque todos los asesinos están ahí por su culpa. Me gustó la forma en que la película va revelando como todos están conectados es algo divertido porque usa flashbacks y explicaciones que mantienen las cosas interesantes, no es una película de esas series tienes que entender que es de accipon comedia y si lo entiendes te va a encantar porque sabe exactamente lo que es y no trata de ser más que eso. Las peleas y escenas de acción están muy bien hechas con mucha creatividad en como usan el espacio limitado del tren, hay peleas en los pasillos, en los asientos, en el bar y cada una tiene su propio estilo. El director es David Leitch y el tipo sabe como meterle a la acción entretenida porque ya lo ha demostrado en películas como John Wick y Deadpool 2, aqui trae esa misma energía de caos pero pero creo que lo hace con un toque más colorido.

Creo que lo que más me gustó de Bullet Train es que no se toma tan en serio y esta bien con ser una peli de acción comedia, hay mucha violencia pero está hecha de una forma que no se siente tan pesada como podría ser. Además que tiene un sentido del humor muy particular que no va a funcionar para todos pero si te gusta el humor negro y las situaciones absurdas probablemente la vas a disfrutar bastante, hay momentos que son muy graciosos y otros que son tan ridículos que te hacen reír. A mi me gustó la parte visual porque todo es colorido y vibrante con mucho neón y colores brillantes, el tren parece como un personaje más en la historia con todos sus compartimientos y secretos. Me encantó la actuación de todos y Brad Pitt yiene una agente que se la pasa hablando con ella por tlf toda la peli y resulta que cuando aparece al final es Sandra Bullock, esto para mí fue la guinda porque hay muchos actores famosos y ella es una de mis favoritas. No es una película perfecta tiene sus problemas como algunos momentos que se sienten un poco largos, esto más que todo lo sentí al principio después la cosa se pone buena y no te queires despegar de la pantalla, también ciertos personajes pudieron haber tenido más desarrollo, pero en general cumple con lo que promete, yo le doy un 8/10. Así que ya sabes si buscas una peli que sea de acción comedia que no te haga pensar demasiado pero que te mantenga entretenido te digo que Bullet Train es una buena opción, me dejó con ganas de verla de nuevo.

Last weekend I was looking on TV for a movie to watch with my son, we spent a while deciding what to see because he leans more towards horror movies and I go for action, and it's not that I don't like horror but I think that depends on what mood you're in. Well after so much searching we found Bullet Train that came out in 2022 and honestly we both liked it quite a bit because I watched it without any expectations I wasn't expecting much from it but it ended up being more entertaining than I thought, is it perfect no but it's definitely good and that's already quite a bit considering the amount of crap that's come out lately. The movie throws you into a Japanese bullet train full of assassins who are after the same thing and although the concept of a bunch of weird assassins chasing a single thing has been done before just like action movies on trains, they managed to make it work and that's what matters, maybe they took a couple of concepts that already existed and made them their own, I really enjoyed this action comedy from beginning to end and my son liked it a lot too, in fact he's already looked for other action movies that are oldies so we can watch them.

Brad Pitt plays Ladybug who is an unlucky assassin who's trying to change his life and become more zen, the guy is in therapy and everything trying to be a better person but obviously the universe has other plans for him. They send him on a super simple mission hahaha that's what he thinks, that he just has to get on the train grab a briefcase and get off but nothing goes as it should because the train is full of other assassins and they're all connected somehow that he doesn't understand at first, Ladybug is the type of character that Brad Pitt does very well because he has that natural charisma and at the same time can do comedy without it feeling forced. The character is always talking about fate and bad luck while everything around him goes to shit in the most violent and chaotic ways possible, there's something very funny about seeing a guy trying to be peaceful and calm while he's surrounded by extreme violence and that's Ladybug's whole journey in this movie, in fact the dude doesn't even carry a gun. That thing about the train having the other assassins is what makes the movie work because each encounter is different and has its own energy, some are more comedic others are more tense but they all give something to the story.

The other assassins on the train are just as interesting and each one has their own personality and style, there's Tangerine and Lemon yes the name is really funny, these are two British brothers who work together and their relationship is the best part of the whole movie. Tangerine is the more serious and professional one while Lemon is obsessed with Thomas the Tank Engine and uses the characters from the show to analyze people, it sounds ridiculous and it is but it works because the actor sells it very well, the way Lemon explains that everyone is like a Thomas character is kind of absurd and at first you don't get it but it ends up being true. Then there's Prince who is a young girl who seems innocent but is the complete opposite well honestly I didn't buy her act, sure in the movie she doesn't hide it from you either but she tries to fool the others on the train, she's the most dangerous character of all because nobody sees her coming and she uses that to her advantage manipulating everyone around her. Wolf is another assassin who gets on the train looking for revenge for something that happened at his wedding and his scene is brutal and quick but leaves an impression, the guy is dressed in a wedding suit stained with blood and just wants to kill whoever is responsible for ruining his life. And finally there's The Hornet who is an assassin who uses snake venom and has her own reasons for being on the train, each of them has their own story but they all end up clashing with each other in unexpected ways.

The plot itself is pretty simple but it gets more complex as it goes along because all the characters' stories are connected in ways you don't expect at first, everything revolves around a briefcase with money and the son of a Japanese mob boss who's on the train. The mob boss known as White Death is the main villain although he doesn't appear until the end, sure they mention the guy all throughout the movie because all the assassins are there because of him. I liked the way the movie reveals how everyone is connected it's kind of fun because it uses flashbacks and explanations that keep things interesting, it's not one of those serious movies you have to understand it's an action comedy and if you get that you're going to love it because it knows exactly what it is and doesn't try to be more than that. The fights and action scenes are very well done with a lot of creativity in how they use the limited space of the train, there are fights in the hallways, in the seats, in the bar and each one has its own style. The director is David Leitch and the guy knows how to bring entertaining action because he's already shown it in movies like John Wick and Deadpool 2, here he brings that same chaotic energy but I think he does it with a more colorful touch.

I think what I liked most about Bullet Train is that it doesn't take itself too seriously and it's okay with being an action comedy, there's a lot of violence but it's done in a way that doesn't feel as heavy as it could be. Plus it has a very particular sense of humor that's not going to work for everyone but if you like dark humor and absurd situations you'll probably enjoy it quite a bit, there are moments that are very funny and others that are so ridiculous they make you laugh. I liked the visual part because everything is colorful and vibrant with lots of neon and bright colors, the train feels like another character in the story with all its compartments and secrets. I loved everyone's acting and Brad Pitt has an agent who spends the whole movie talking to her on the phone and it turns out that when she appears at the end it's Sandra Bullock, this for me was the cherry on top because there are many famous actors and she's one of my favorites. It's not a perfect movie it has its problems like some moments that feel a bit long, I felt this more at the beginning then things get good and you don't want to look away from the screen, also certain characters could have had more development, but overall it delivers on what it promises, I give it an 8/10. So you know if you're looking for an action comedy that doesn't make you think too much but keeps you entertained I'm telling you Bullet Train is a good option, it left me wanting to watch it again.
