Berlin & The Jewel of Paris - Review of this stylish heist journey!

When I first saw the title, honestly I thought that it would be German or in German or anything else but what it actually was.

It's original title is: Original title: Berlín y las joyas de París and it is a mini series. One of those you can see in one full day (or break it in two nights, like I did)

From the very beginning, the series manages to create a strong atmosphere. The tone, the dialogues, the characters, their style and even the setting, it all feels very carefully designed. One thing I especially enjoyed was the language (spanish) and the way characters express themselves.

The plot itself is engaging and, at times, unpredictable. There are moments where you think you know exactly where things are going… and then the story shifts direction completely. That unpredictability is definitely one of the strongest points of both series.

Everything is very carefully planned, everyone in the team very talented and very carefully selected.
But what could go wrong? And are they smart enough to overcome the unexpected?
How do they deal with desire, amour, surprises?

How well is really everything planned?

The acting is worth highlighting. Every character feels like they fully belong in their role, and I cannot think of anyone else in the specific role. The casting did a great job here!

There’s confidence, charm, tension, sometimes all in a single scene. It pulls you into the story, even when things slow down a bit. You feel their agony, their curiosity and excitement as they play their roles.

My only criticism is simple and I think it will not remove your will to watch this.

I understand that the series writers wanted to build personal backstories and to fill in a few episodes, however there are moments where it feels a bit stretched.

Some scenes take longer than they need to, and at times I found myself getting a bit bored with some overly discussed details. I believe that a tighter edit in certain episodes would have made the pacing stronger.

I genuinely enjoyed the series and I was very curious to watch it to the very end, as the suspence follows you to the very last minute of the series!

The rating?
7.1/10 and I fully agree with it. I may even get a bit higher and go to 7.5/10

The scenario, direction, sceneries, plot, really great!... I dont regret the two nights when I slept only a few hours :)

I will also watch the very new series, I think it is a good option for an entertaining evening.
