Little Brother (2026) Movie Review

The other day I was looking for a light, happy film (preferably less than 2 hours duration), and as I was too bored to search more - I decided to choose the Little Brother.

I also have a little brother, so perhaps subconsciously, it was one of the reasons I decided to watch. It was not romcom or other comedy, I did not see any familiar faces; So it was mostly a matter of luck at what I would fall into!

Little Brother - aired on Netflix recently! 1h 42 minutes!

The rating already shows in the picture, but let me provide more insights and you can judge after a short while.

What you will mainly find in this film, is a few scenes of true laughter, some chaotic fun from time to time, some real connection and feelings, but also some annoying (at least for me) scenes.

This is a typical Hollywood style of movies ..

Directed by Matt Spicer and starring John Cena and Eric André, the film is an odd-couple comedy that relies heavily on outrageous situations, and the relationship between its two lead actors

Cena plays Rudd, a successful real estate agent whose perfectly organized life is thrown into disarray when Marcus (Eric André), his wildly unpredictable former "little brother" from a mentorship program, unexpectedly returns. What follows is a series of unpredictable and maybe even ridiculous events that force Rudd to change his entire cosmo theory

The movie's biggest strength is undoubtedly its cast. Their contrasting personalities create several genuinely laugh-out-loud moments, even if some jokes miss the mark. Michelle Monaghan and Christopher Meloni provide solid supporting performances without stealing the spotlight.

It took me sometime to recognize Meloni!

That said, this movie isn't particularly original. The plot follows a familiar type of story and struggles to balance heartfelt moments with its over-the-top comedy. Critics have been divided

Please note:

Motion Picture Rating (MPA)
Rated R for sexual content, language throughout, some drug use and brief graphic nudity.

Final words: Little Brother is a bit messy, occasionally heartfelt, and often funny enough to justify its runtime. Fans of modern buddy comedies will likely have a good time, even if they won't remember much of it next day.

I will favor it with a 5, watch it if you are feeling bored and would like a few relaxing moments with a movie, that you could go to the bathroom, without caring to pause it : )

I like how you presented the movie in a balanced way highlighting both its entertaining aspects and its weaknesses. It seems like a lighthearted, easy to watch movie with several genuinely funny moments thanks to the actors, even if the story isn’t very original. Your honest review makes it easier to choose when you just want something simple and relaxing to watch thanks
