Movie Review: Como Caído Del Cielo (2019)

Como Caído Del Cielo or in English, Like Fallen from the Sky

I saw this film yesterday (you could say that it was by accident and pure luck) and I would like to review this for all of you.

I went into this movie, without having a clue about the famous Mexican singer Pedro Infante or his history, yet, this film managed to hook me from the very beginning.

The plot unfolds quickly and with a lively rhythm, making it easy to get absorbed in the story even if you're completely unfamiliar with its cultural background.

I would describe the film as colorful, engaging, and full of unexpected turns that can keep your attention throughout.

Mexican legend Pedro Infante receives another opportunity on earth to redeem himself for his forays with women and earn heaven in the body of an imitator.

Imagine the stories someone has to tell going back to live decades past his life, to another body!

The movie is packed with music, naturally, and the performances are a big part of its charm.

The actors bring warmth, humor, and energy to every scene, making the musical moments feel authentic and enjoyable. Beyond the story, you also get a small taste of Mexico: its places, its culture, and that unmistakable temperament that, in many ways, feels similar to the Mediterranean spirit. I would call it vibrant, expressive, and full of life.

At almost two hours long (1h 52m), the film could probably be slightly shorter in a couple of spots, but I can’t say I was ever bored.

The pacing remains entertaining, and even the slower scenes add to the movie’s tone and sentiments.

You’ll enjoy Como Caído Del Cielo if you love music, comedy, romance, or films sprinkled with sentiment and cultural flavor.

It is characterized as Romance, Comedy, Drama, Spanish and Musical (even though there were many songs during the movie, I would not say it is strictly musical)

For me, it was fun, entertaining and easy to watch.

With an IMDb rating of 6.5, I’d say that’s a fair score, and with this, I can more or less agree with.
