Movie revie: "Lilo & Stitch" Live-action film [ENG// ESP]

When I first heard Disney was greenlighting a new "Lilo & Stitch" live-action version, I was instantly excited, yet also a mix of enthusiastic and cautious. Many live-action films have left a lot to be desired, after all.

Hey there, Movies & TV Shows community! This is my first time posting here, and I want to share my perspective on this film that's caused such a stir in cinemas worldwide. I mean, how many of us didn't watch "Lilo & Stitch" during our childhoods?

First off, let's remember that the original 2002 animated film is a true treasure. It was celebrated for its immense heart, quirky humor, and that unique way it explored themes of dysfunctional families, acceptance, and the search for a place to belong. The key question now is: Did this new interpretation manage to capture the magic and authenticity that made the original an timeless classic? Let's find out!

The challenge for this new version was balancing nostalgia with innovation without losing the essence of what made "ohana" so significant. One of the main concerns revolved around the inevitable visual comparison. Stitch's original design is iconic, and translating his charm and expressiveness to live-action seemed like a delicate task, but I think they pulled it off.

I believe the film successfully maintained that nostalgic thread from the original version, preserving the simplicity and depth of its characters. There are parts that are obviously not in this new version, but they managed to adapt it well, within the possibilities.

The narrative of loss, pain, and the difficulty of fitting in were well-integrated into this new version. Plus, they did it while preserving the essence of Hawaiian culture and that soundtrack that made us all fall in love from our very first encounter with Lilo & Stitch. Something that truly surprised me was that almost the entire cast was Hawaiian, which you can see in the movie credits.

After watching the film, I have to confess that my optimistic side won out, and I thought, "It wasn't bad!" What's more, a new version offers the opportunity to introduce this moving story to a new generation, perhaps adapting it to contemporary sensibilities without sacrificing its core message: the value of family.

I truly believe this new "Lilo & Stitch" could be not only a tribute but also a worthy evolution of a story that taught us that family isn't something you find, but something you build. I left the cinema happy, knowing that in some way, the spirit of "ohana" had shone once again on the big screen.

Apenas me enteré de que Disney había puesto en marcha una nueva versión de "Lilo & Stitch" me emocioné, sin embargo, también me generó una mezcla de entusiasmo y cautela, muchas de las películas de live actión han dejado mucho que desear.

Hola comunidad de Movies & TV Shows es mi primera vez por aquí y quiero compartirles mi perspectiva de esta película que generó tanto revuelo en la cartelera del cine del mundo y es que ¿cuántos de nosotros no vimos Lilo & Stich en nuestra infancia?

Bueno primero recordemos que la película original del 2002 es un tesoro animado, que además fue celebrada por su corazón inmenso, su humor peculiar y esa manera particular de pasearse por el tema de la familia disfuncional, la aceptación y la búsqueda de un lugar donde pertenecer. La pregunta clave ahora es: ¿Logró esta nueva interpretación capturar la magia y la autenticidad que hicieron de la original un clásico atemporal? Vamos a ver qué tal.

El desafío para esta nueva versión estaba en equilibrar la nostalgia con la innovación, sin perder la esencia de lo que hizo a "ohana" tan significativa. Una de las principales preocupaciones radica en la inevitable comparación visual. El diseño original de Stitch es icónico, y traducir su encanto y expresividad al live action me parecía que era una tarea delicada, pero creo que se logró.

Creo que la película logró mantener esa línea nostálgica de la versión original, cuidando esa simplicidad y la profundidad de sus personajes. Hay partes que evidentemente no están en esta nueva versión, pero lograron adaptarla bien, dentro de las posibilidades.

La narrativa de la pérdida, el dolor y la dificultad de encajar, fueron adaptadas en esta nueva versión y además lo hicieron cuidando esa esencia cultura hawaiana y ese soundtrack que nos enamoró a todos desde ese primer encuentro con Lilo & Stich. Algo que me sorprendió muchísimo fue que el elenco de la película fue prácticamente todo hawaiano, lo pueden ver en los créditos de la peli.

Después de ver la peli debo confesar que mi lado optimista ganó y dije “no estuvo mal”, además que una nueva versión ofrece la oportunidad de presentar esta conmovedora historia a una nueva generación, adaptándola quizás a sensibilidades contemporáneas sin sacrificar su mensaje central: El valor de la familia.

Creo de verdad que esta nueva "Lilo & Stitch" podría no solo ser un homenaje, sino también una evolución digna de una historia que nos enseñó que la familia no es algo que se encuentra, sino algo que se construye. Yo salí del cine feliz sabiendo que de alguna forma el espíritu de "ohana" había brillado una vez más en la gran pantalla.
