The Unbreakable Bond Between Siblings

Happy Tuesday Hivers!

Have you ever gone through a time when you and your siblings simply couldn't get along? Have you ever hurt each other emotionally because you were angry about something that was said or done?

On my side, the answer is yes.

I come from a big family, and of course, each of us has a different personality. We were raised by disciplined parents, especially our mother. Like many children growing up, there was always a belt or a stick ready whenever we refused to listen or misbehaved.

However, even though we were raised with discipline and respect, there were still times when conflicts arose among us siblings. There were moments when misunderstandings became so serious that feelings were hurt, leading to months of barely speaking to one another.

I clearly remember one time when two of my sisters had a major argument. The situation became so intense that they completely stopped talking to each other. My mother tried to talk to them and help them reconcile, but despite her efforts, they continued arguing. It eventually reached a point where my mother broke down in tears. Seeing her cry made both of my sisters cry as well.

We are far from being perfect siblings. We have different beliefs, opinions, and ways of looking at things. There have been many times when our differences caused conflicts and disagreements.

But one thing has always remained true: whenever our family faces a problem, we automatically come together. No matter how upset we may be with one another, we unite to help solve whatever challenge our family is going through.

Now that we are older, we value peace of mind more than winning arguments. We choose understanding over conflict and communication over silence. As we grow older, we realize that holding on to anger is exhausting, while maintaining strong family relationships is priceless.

We are grateful to God that despite the disagreements and misunderstandings we experienced in the past, our bond as siblings remains intact. Time has taught us that family is not about never arguing, it's about always finding our way back to each other.

In the end, disagreements may come and go, but the love between siblings is one of life's greatest blessings.

Thank you for reading and see you on my next blog. Cheers!
