Your review makes me want to watch this movie for more than Frances McDormand's acting. It sounds like one of those quiet films that stays with you. Many of us fear losing loved ones or the lives we are used to because we then have to figure out who we are afterwards. It's a hard journey but the message is clear that a person can learn to live differently rather than stop living altogether.
That's why I admire Fern. Her life on the road seems to be her personal way of surviving grief, something I don't think her sister or the woman with the daughters understand. You capture the beauty and sadness of her journey so well in your review. I wouldn't mind an intermittent nomadic lifestyle. It sounds like an adventure. Thanks for sharing. Do we have to courage to go it alone? I don't know if I would.
I think a nomadic lifestyle would be daunting for me, although maybe that's age talking.
Thank you for asking about my husband. We are doing OK. He is going for his appointments and we always hope for good news. I think one day I will write a blog about how I have his 'office' arranged. He doesn't have to get up much at all. We got him a swivel chair. His closet, beverage refrigerator, desk, TV, computer--just about everything is an arm's length away. All he has to do is swivel--fortunately he has long arms :)))
So glad to hear you're both doing okay and I hope his appointments continue to bring good news. The way you've arranged his office with a swivel chair sounds practical. With everything within arm's reach, he has his own little command centre. 😄 Well done. Do take care.
