Celebrity (2023 Kdrama): Explore the dark side of the celebrity world.

Thanks to the stars and to the special person that made me to finally watch this Kdrama. Haha. I dunno why I waited for so long to watch the show.

I'm one of those who was keeping a tab on it when the teaser was released in June. I also had a lot of other Kdramas on my watchlist and I still have so many to check out. Maybe that's why I wasn't very enthusiastic to check this out when it finally got released by Netflix.

At some point, I felt like this wouldn't be an interesting watch so I took it off my watchlist until I had a conversation with another netizen who's a Kdrama buff. Haha. The hype about this show was unreal. That was when I immediately fitted it back into my watchlist. I finally got to watch the show in August and I'm completely blown away by the thrill I felt while watching each episode of the show. Haha.

Why did it take so long to write this review? The simple answer is "I Dunno". Haha. Life has been knocking me around and I've become really busy. I usually write at least one Kdrama review each week, but it's been over 3 weeks since I last wrote a Kdrama review. Well, I'm back! Haha.

This show satisfactorily digs into the shades of experiences people face when they gain huge following on the internet and subsequently get recognized as a social media influencer and celebrity. It shows the benefits attached to having so many followers and how this huge following can be monetized to build brands, get deals and also get top sponsorships.

Our main character was a lowlife with no internet presence before she gradually slid into the world of celebrities. Her character is known for making bold and unconventional moves and this was very effective in making her a unique figure in the celebrity world. She subsequently gained more followers and fame while trying to be a real person in a world of people who lie about anything and everything, just for fame.

While she enjoyed the flashy side of the lifestyle of a Celebrity, we were also walked through the ugly side of it as she got into intense confrontations with other celebrities who saw her as someone that's poaching their followers.

Things got nasty real quick. She had to face lots of hurdles, innuendo, gossip and reputation destruction. You would think that when online celebrities are having a go at each other, they wouldn't do it physically, but what you will see in this show will blow your mind. Get ready to explore the dark side of the celebrity world.
