Kdrama Review; A heart-warming 'Crash Course In Romance'.

The kinda Drama I usually watch can be summed up as stressful, complicated, messy, dark and mysterious. Stuff like that whets my appetite so much and I just can't get enough of those, but once in a while, I like to break out of that category of Kdramas and check out stories which look 'way too simple'. That's what made me go digging for a light story and I found this Kdrama.

As far as romcom Kdramas go, this will always count as a top Kdrama to check out and have a good laugh while watching the story unfold. I will tell you the things I enjoyed in this show, but that won't be the end of it. I will also highlight the part of the show that wasn't necessary to the story development.

Well, let's get started;

Name: Crash Course in Romance

Genre: Comedy, Romance, Drama, Mystery.

Network: tvN

Episodes: 16

Release Date: Jan 14 - March 5, 2023

Despite my conscious attempt to watch a show with a light storyline, I still didn't want something overly dramatic. That's exactly why this Kdrama ticked the box for me. The lead male character is 40 years old while the lead female character is 50 years old. You know, it's not very often you see romcom shows that are not just for people in their 20s. I found the cast interesting and decided to fit it into my watchlist.

While watching this, it felt that a healing drama that one can just sit down and have a good laugh while watching. I didn't have to think too much about anything. The characters played their role nicely and the autistic dude nailed his role. He was just a side character, but there was something beautiful and innocent about all his screen time. Watching him gave a sorta Attorney Woo's vibe. It was awesome.

As far as I can tell, the story is simple, heart-warming, decent and refreshing to watch. The part of the story with the high schoolers was also very interesting and thrilling.

However, the serial killer element in the story is unnecessary. I don't know what's wrong with some writers in Kdrama. Sometimes, they make you feel like there is a serial killer on every street in Korea. Haha. I didn't expect any dark theme in the show, so when I started seeing a part of the story that edged towards an obsessed serial killer, I wasn't open-minded enough to enjoy its addition to the story.

The whole show is amazing but the comedic side of it is what got me hooked till the end. Now that I'm done with this, I will be running back to my usual genres with messy and complicated storylines. Hehe.

Thanks For Not Missing Any Full-stop Or Comma
