We arrived at the hotel at around 10:30, so about 30 minutes after the doors opened for the casting.

I was handed a form to fill out, and they asked Aimee if she wanted one - which she initially denied - but then took it, after a bit of persuasion.

There were a good few people spread out around the conference room, a few I recognised, and a few new faces.

(This conference room is the same one that, only about a year ago, I went to as part of a Failte Ireland meeting among local tourism sites, and I represented the Wicklow Jail and spoke about it and many other sites I know)

Myself, Aimee, Kaleb and Ollie sat at a table with only one person at it, who asked for help regarding a question on the form.

I gave him the answer and struck up a conversation with him, and he said that it was his first time doing something like this. I assured him he'd have fun out on set, and we had a nice conversation.

After filling out our forms, we headed up to get a photo taken, and I was speaking with one of the head ADs whom I know from nearly all of the previous seasons I've done.

I told him that Aimee and I signed up together, and he wrote that on both of our forms, because it's easier for them to book both of us on the same days so we can both make our way out.

Kaleb had come up with me while I got my picture taken, and he asked if I was signing him up too, but I said he's a little bit shy. I'd love to have him out there, but he might be a little bit young to do it.

After this, we headed to a nearby coffee shop to get a drink, and there were a bunch of people I knew sitting outside, so we had a good chat and a catch-up with them.

This morning, when I mentioned going to see the Vikings, Kaleb was excited because he thought we were going back to the Viking village we visited recently. He was okay in the end, with going to the hotel to see everyone there.

It was a nice little day trip, and afterwards we stopped by the pet shop to look at the animals and pick up some turtle food.
