Just take a look at the photo above. It looks unreal, isn't it? The craziest thing is that the photo looks unreal, but that's exactly what is seen in this series, with openings and closings in the human head visible. I couldn't get enough of the CGI effects in this series. This series really entertained me to the point that I had to stay up late at night just to see it through to the end.

The storyline, though the genesis of the parasite isn't mentioned, is quite interesting, and I later got to know that this particular series is a spin-off of an original series. I met some reviews on Facebook, insisting that the anime version of this series is way more entertaining to this particular one. This shows that the whole franchise is crazy💯.

The Beginning;

A small circle falls from the sky to the ground. An insect-like creature crawls out of the circle, looks for anyone nearby, passes through the ears, and takes over the brain, where the human gets controlled by the parasite. The parasite then kills humans by releasing a demonic creature from the head.

Jeong Su-in, a young lady who works in a supermarket, gets into a heated exchange with a customer, and that night, the customer, out of anger, tracks her down to kill her. He succeeds in killing her, but at that moment, Su-in is possessed by a parasite. However, the parasite couldn't completely take over Su-in's body because its power was used to repair her body and revive her. So, Su-in was half-parasite and half-human unlike how they usually completely possess the human body.

On the other hand, a team called Grey, led by a woman who lost her husband to the terrifying strike of the creatures, vows to put an end to the existence of the creatures. So, it's a fight between the Grey force and the creatures, who have formed a group and are being led by a pastor.

The twists in the storyline, coupled with the suspense, action, and flow of endless emotions, make it very interesting.

The group of creatures has the capacity to take on another person's face once the human is killed. This makes it very difficult for the Grey group to easily identify who is infected among humans, especially after a compromised member of their group killed the detecting machine they designed together with the leader of the group's husband.

Apart from the good storyline, the fight scenes are another thing that puts one on the edge of their seat. The parasite practically comes out through the head of the human, extending to any length, which is then used to strike opponents. When it strikes humans, it's usually a one-kill situation, but when it's against the same creature, it takes a continuous combat sequence to kill the opponent, depending on who's superior.

The creatures can also turn into different forms, such as big animals or giant birds. The fight scenes, both between the creatures and humans and between the creatures themselves, are so entertaining.

Actors and Their Ratings

Uhmmmm...

The actors selected did excellently well with their characters.

Jeong Su-in, Seol Gang-u, and Choi Jun-kyung, played by Jeon So-nee, Koo Kyo-hwan, and Lee Jung-hyun respectively, stole the show till the end of the series. Even the comic moments weren't forced, as usually done in most movies.

My saddest emotional moment was when Kim Cheol-min was killed before the eyes of Su-in. At that point, I felt the series wouldn't be interesting anymore, but that wasn't the case.

The flaw that would have brought down my rating of the series is the fact that they introduced a character that could pave the way for a Season 2. But as for me, there's nothing more to act on. It's better if it remains at just Season 1.

So, I would rate it 10/10.
