¡Hola Hola Comunidad! ✨, definitivamente hay momentos que esperas toda tu vida por vivir, algunos son significativos al nivel de por ejemplo una graduación, y otros son tan magníficos al nivel de ver de nuevo a personajes entrañables de tu infancia 💖, y obviamente en un nivel superior está Miranda Presley 🤣, no solo ícono de la moda sino también un referente en el nivel de sobre explotación laboral. Desde que anunciaron el regreso de ésta historia yo tenía claro una cosa: la iría a ver al cine, así que hoy te cuento como fue la experiencia, porque vaya que hay cosas por contar 🤣.
Hello Hello Community! ✨, There are definitely moments you spend your whole life waiting to experience; some are as significant as, say, a graduation, and others are as wonderful as seeing beloved characters from your childhood again 💖, and obviously, on a whole other level, there’s Miranda Presley 🤣 – not just a fashion icon, but also a prime example of labour exploitation. Ever since they announced the return of this story, one thing was clear to me: I was going to see it at the cinema, so today I’m going to tell you all about the experience, because boy, there’s plenty to tell 🤣.
Creo que en el país todos sabemos cómo está el tema eléctrico, ya algunos estamos por enloquecer y otros ya lo hicieron hace rato. Cuando todo el nuevo “cronograma” de cortes eléctricos empezó, por mi mente solo pasó un miedo: que la electricidad se fuese en plena película. No me pasó eso, pero aún así no me salvé de ese tráfico destino, porque cuando llegué al centro comercial –ya con boletos comprados– me encontré con la trágica realidad de que no había luz. Mi función era para las 3:30pm, y según mis cálculos o bien a esa justamente estaría regresando la a electricidad, o nos tocaría reprogramar la función. La primera opción fue la que ganó, y al mismo tiempo la segunda opción también.
I think we all know what the situation is like with the electricity supply in this country; some of us are on the verge of losing our minds, whilst others lost theirs ages ago. When the whole new ‘schedule’ of power cuts began, only one fear crossed my mind: that the power would go out right in the middle of the film. That didn’t happen to me, but I still didn’t escape that traffic nightmare, because when I arrived at the shopping centre – having already bought my tickets – I was met with the tragic reality that there was no power. My screening was at 3.30 pm, and according to my calculations, either the power would be back on at exactly that time, or we’d have to reschedule the screening. The first option won out, and at the same time, so did the second.

Si bien la electricidad regresó a las 3:30pm, en el cine tuvieron que reprogramarnos para la función siguiente, que era a las 4:35pm, así que solo nos tocó esperar 1 hora extra, y por ver a Miranda y Andy bien valía la pena. Así como también valía la pena esforzarme con mi outfit. Y es que, si iba a ir a reencontrarme con la historia que marcó el inicio de mi amor por la moda, debía mantener cierto estándar que mi yo del futuro siguiera admirando. Debo admitir que le tuve miedo al éxito y no me fuí en tacones, pero todo el conjunto que conformaba mi outfit –incluyendo accesorios y maquillaje–, son dignos de orgullo para mí. Porque si el dress code es rojo, blanco y negro; su fiel fashionista buscará la forma de cumplir con el mismo, y como aquí no le tenemos miedo al color, también incluimos el rojo en ojos y labios 😏.
Although the power came back on at 3.30 pm, the cinema had to reschedule us for the next screening, which was at 4.35 pm, so we only had to wait an extra hour, and seeing Miranda and Andy was well worth it. It was also well worth making an effort with my outfit. After all, if I was going to reconnect with the story that marked the beginning of my love for fashion, I had to maintain a certain standard that my future self would continue to admire. I must admit I was a bit daunted by the prospect of success and didn’t wear heels, but the whole ensemble that made up my outfit – including accessories and make-up – is something I’m proud of. Because if the dress code is red, white and black, a true fashionista will find a way to stick to it, and as we’re not afraid of colour here, we’ve also included red on our eyes and lips 😏.
Una película de éste estilo no puede ser vista de otra manera que entre amigas, por eso desde que salió el primer avance oficial mi mejor amiga del liceo y yo planeamos ir juntas. Con lo que no contamos en ese momento, es que siempre que vamos al cine causamos el mismo efecto: que se vaya la electricidad 🤣. No daré mi opinión sobre la película porque eso será un post aparte, pero desde ya les digo que la amé de principio a fin. Ver y escuchar de nuevo a Miranda, me hizo recordar porqué un día me apasioné por vestir bien, por siempre cuidar hasta el último detalle de mi outfit, y la pulcritud de mi maquillaje. Me hizo darme cuenta que, las mujeres que aman su trabajo, siempre tienen que pagar un precio. Irónicamente cuando llegué a mi casa, tampoco había electricidad 🤦🏼♀️.
A film like this is best watched with friends, which is why, ever since the first official trailer came out, my best friend from secondary school and I have been planning to go together. What we didn’t realise at the time is that whenever we go to the cinema, we have the same effect: the power goes out 🤣. I won’t give my opinion on the film because that will be a separate post, but I can tell you right now that I loved it from start to finish. Seeing and hearing Miranda again reminded me why I once became passionate about dressing well, about always paying attention to every last detail of my outfit, and the neatness of my make-up. It made me realise that women who love their work always have to pay a price. Ironically, when I got home, there was no electricity there either 🤦🏼♀️.
