¡Hola Hola Comunidad! ✨, el mes de Diciembre fue en su mayoría una época de ver películas bastante cuestionables, por no decir malas en su totalidad, y por alguna razón yo le tuve un mínimo de esperanzas a ésta adaptación, creo que la Navidad me afectó la lógica, porque claramente no se le puede tener fé a una historia que cumple con todos los requisitos para no gustarme 🤦🏻♀️: producción española, con triángulo amoroso entre hermanos, protagonistas que no saben actuar y un guión sin sentido. Pero antes de extenderme más, mejor vamos y hablemos de lleno sobre Dímelo Bajito 🖤.
Hello Hello Community! ✨, December was mostly a time for watching rather questionable films, not to say bad ones altogether, and for some reason I had minimal hopes for this adaptation. I think Christmas affected my logic, because clearly you can't have faith in a story that ticks all the boxes for me not to like it 🤦🏻 ♀️: Spanish production, with a love triangle between siblings, protagonists who can't act, and a nonsensical script. But before I go on any further, let's get straight to the point and talk about Tell Me Softly 🖤.
🏀 SINOPSIS || SYNOPSIS 🖤
Kamila Hamilton es la chica inalcanzable de la secundaria, con una vida aparentemente perfecta y bajo su absoluto control, pero que no todo el tiempo fue así. Cuando era una niña, un secreto que no debía contar transformó para siempre su vida y la vida de sus vecinos los Di Bianco, hace 7 años no sabe absolutamente nada de ellos, pero eso está por cambiar. En el momento menos pensado los Di Bianco regresan, Thiago y Taylor que en su momento eran los mejores amigos de Kamila, ahora estan de vuelta para romper con esa máscara de control y frialdad que ella ha construido.
Sin embargo, el pasado siempre está presente entre ellos, el amor que un día sintió Thiago por ella ahora se transformó en odio, y el cariño de Taylor ahora parece ir más allá. Nadie puede acceder a ella… excepto ellos.
Kamila Hamilton is the unattainable girl in secondary school, with a seemingly perfect life that she has under complete control, but it wasn't always that way. 🏀 CRÍTICA || REVIEW 🖤
Estrenada el 12 de Diciembre por la plataforma de Prime Video, ésta película es la adaptación de la novela homónima de Mercedes Ron (sí, la misma de la saga Culpables 🤦🏻♀️), y puedo decir desde ya que solo hay una o dos cosas rescatables de toda ésta producción. Quiero empezar con lo decente porque honestamente es lo menos, y me parece que entre todo lo que no se hizo bien, hay que rescatar lo que sí. Principalmente, siento que la forma en como se organizaron y ejecutaron las escenas fue bastante agradable de ver, las tomas y el manejo de cámaras a mí me pareció que se hizo con detenimiento, se siente que hay un hilo conductor en la historia, ciertamente hay escenas sin sentido pero eso me parece más un problema de guión.
Algo que me suele pasar mucho con las producciones españolas, es que se siente como si fuese ASMR, y yo no tengo nada en contra de éste contenido (de hecho lo amo) pero no es lo que busco en las películas, y aquí no me pasó, aunque habían escenas de silencio no me dieron esa sensación, aparte el soundtrack me pareció decente también, no se limitaron solo a canciones españolas sino que entendieron que ésto es un productor que se vendería a nivel internacional y que por ende, la música debe ir en juego a eso.
Released on 12 December on Prime Video, this film is an adaptation of the novel of the same name by Mercedes Ron (yes, the same author of the Culpables saga 🤦🏻♀️), and I can say right now that there are only one or two redeeming features in this entire production. I want to start with the decent stuff because, honestly, it's the least of it, and I think that among everything that wasn't done well, we have to salvage what was. Mainly, I feel that the way the scenes were organised and executed was quite pleasant to watch. I thought the shots and camera work were done with care, and there is a sense of continuity in the story. Certainly, there are some scenes that don't make sense, but I think that's more of a script problem.
Something that often happens to me with Spanish productions is that they feel like ASMR, and I have nothing against this content (in fact, I love it), but it's not what I look for in films, and that didn't happen here. Although there were scenes of silence, they didn't give me that feeling. I also thought the soundtrack was decent. They didn't limit themselves to Spanish songs but understood that this is a production that would be sold internationally and that, therefore, the music should be in line with that.
Ahora bien, fuera de ésto que acabo de mencionar y que realmente me parece rescatable dentro de mi poco conocimiento, todo lo demás es un desastre, empezando por la actuación. En un triángulo amoroso eficaz hay un elemento que siempre debe prevalecer, y es la química del personaje conflictuado por sus dos intereses amorosos, la mejor demostración de ésto recién lo vimos en El Verano en el que me Enamoré, en donde de verdad los actores hicieron el trabajo de hacerte dudar de con quién acabaría la protagonista; pero aquí es que la chica no tiene química ni con la pared 🤦🏻♀️, de verdad que el trabajo actoral que la mayoría de los personajes realiza da pena ajena.
No puede ser que si tu te estás reencontrando con dos chicos que llevas 7 años sin ver y con quienes compartes una historia complicada, me pongas la misma cara que cuando te estás tomando un café, espero un poquito de sorpresa, angustia, miedo, no sé algo de emoción alguna. Porque incluso si lo que quería jugar era con una cara de póquer, por toda ésta aura de niña inalcanzable que le querían pintar, creo que hay muchas formas en las que puedes transmitir eso. Además, el manejo de la química con los chicos también es nefasta, no puedo negar que aunque odie la saga Culpables (la versión española), al menos en la primera película los protagonista tenían un montón de química, te creías su romance, aquí solo parece una calentura hormonal de adolescentes.
Now, apart from what I just mentioned, which I really think is redeemable within my limited knowledge, everything else is a disaster, starting with the acting. In an effective love triangle, there is one element that must always prevail, and that is the chemistry between the character torn between their two love interests. The best example of this was recently seen in The Summer I Turned Pretty, where the actors really did a good job of making you wonder who the protagonist would end up with. but here, the girl has no chemistry even with the wall 🤦🏻♀️. Honestly, the acting of most of the characters is cringe-worthy.
It can't be that if you're reuniting with two guys you haven't seen in seven years and with whom you share a complicated history, you give me the same look you give me when you're having a coffee. I expect a little surprise, anguish, fear, I don't know, some kind of emotion. Even if she wanted to play it cool, with this whole aura of an unattainable girl that they wanted to paint, I think there are many ways you can convey that. Besides, the chemistry between the boys is also disastrous. I can't deny that even though I hate the Culpables saga (the Spanish version), at least in the first film the protagonists had a lot of chemistry, you believed in their romance, here it just seems like hormonal teenage fever.
Que éste es otro tema, ya basta de la hipersexualización de los adolescentes, yo sé que tenemos la concepción de que esa es una etapa bastante hormonal y de exploración de múltiples áreas de la vida, pero de todo corazón les digo, los adolescentes tienen problemas reales que muchas veces van más allá del sexo, entonces no puedo tolerar una película que todo el tiempo me quiere meter éste tema para rellenar los vacios de conversaciones reales entre los protagonistas, o sea yo acabé la película sin saber si la niña Kamila era influencer o qué rayos, si realmente le gustaban bailar o solo era una actividad más que hacía, tanto como el espectador como los protagonistas masculinos no sabemos si a ella le gusta leer, ver películas o escuela música.
O sea las cosas triviales de cualquier conversación no existen, no hay un guión bien definido, todo ocurre a conveniencia de quién sabe quién, nada tiene sentido y lo peor, es que no dejan al adolescente ser adolescente. Hay muchas escenas sin sentido alguno, que supuestamente “se van a entender después”, pero creo yo que cuando vas a introducir algo que genere misterio para las siguientes películas, debes saber hacerlo porque si no queda al aire, sin conexión con nada.
This is another issue, enough with the hypersexualisation of teenagers. I know we have the idea that this is a very hormonal stage of life, a time of exploration in many areas, but I say to you with all my heart, teenagers have real problems that often go beyond sex. so I cannot tolerate a film that constantly tries to fill the gaps in real conversations between the protagonists with this topic. I finished the film without knowing if the girl Kamila was an influencer or what the heck, if she really liked dancing or if it was just another activity she did. Neither the audience nor the male protagonists know if she likes reading, watching films, or going to school or music lessons.
In other words, the trivial things in any conversation do not exist, there is no well-defined script, everything happens at the convenience of who knows who, nothing makes sense, and worst of all, they do not let teenagers be teenagers. There are many scenes that make no sense, which are supposed to ‘be understood later’, but I think that when you introduce something that creates mystery for the following films, you have to know how to do it because otherwise it's left up in the air, with no connection to anything.
Y la mala actuación no solo se ve reflejada en Kamila, sino también en Thiago, que niño más insoportable que todo el tiempo ando con cara de molesto, ni siquiera con ma familia se le ve feliz, yo sé que él está resentido con Kamila (por una estupidez si me preguntan) y tiene sentido su mala actitud con ella, pero ¿Y su hermano y su mamá?¿Por qué tiene la misma cara de amargado con ellos si supuestamente los quiere y todo bien?, o sea sé que quería dar la apariencia de chico malo y por momentos lo logra, y en otros parece que solo sabe hacer esa cara. Aparte todo con él es raro, no entiendo su papel en el instituto, porque parece ser estudiante pero tiene demasiada autoridad, sé que es ayudante del entrenador pero no lo hace directamente un profesor, aparte ¿Como logra ese puesto?, porque en ningún momento lo vemos jugar como para decir que por eso se lo dieron.
Y el “plot twist” de la película 🤦🏻♀️, o sea desde el inicio sabes qué pasó, la película solo te muestra como pasó y honestamente me imaginé que sería algo mucho mejor, ¿En qué sentido? Ésto quizás sea spoiler, pero todo el conflicto entre Thiago y Kamila es porque ellos vieron algo que no debían y él le pidió a ella que no lo dijera, ella lo dijo y a causa de eso la hermana de Thiago y Taylor murió en un accidente gracias a las imprudencia de su madre. El accidente es lo más absurdo que hay, los culpables son los adultos aunque Thiago se haga la vista gorda, la forma por la que se da el accidente es sacada de Disney, no hay otra forma de verlo, de verdad el guión es horrible.
And the bad behaviour isn't just reflected in Kamila, but also in Thiago, who is such an unbearable child, always walking around with an annoyed look on his face. He doesn't even seem happy with his family. I know he resents Kamila (for something stupid, if you ask me) and his bad attitude towards her makes sense, but what about his brother and his mum? Why does he have the same bitter expression with them if he supposedly loves them and everything is fine? I mean, I know he wanted to give the appearance of a bad boy and at times he succeeds, but at other times it seems like that's the only expression he knows how to make. Besides, everything about him is weird. I don't understand his role at the school, because he seems to be a student but has too much authority. I know he's the coach's assistant, but that doesn't make him a teacher. Besides, how did he get that position? We never see him play, so we can't say that's why they gave it to him.
And the “plot twist” in the film 🤦🏻♀️, I mean, you know what happened from the start, the film just shows you how it happened, and honestly, I imagined it would be something much better. In what way? This might be a spoiler, but the whole conflict between Thiago and Kamila is because they saw something they shouldn't have, and he asked her not to tell anyone. She told someone, and because of that, Thiago's sister and Taylor died in an accident due to their mother's recklessness. The accident is the most absurd thing ever. The adults are to blame, even though Thiago turns a blind eye. The way the accident happens is straight out of Disney. There's no other way to look at it. The script is truly awful.

🤣🤣🤣 yo decidí sacrificarme por un bien mayor, ahorrarles a ustedes el tiempo de verla.
Nuevamente una peli adolescente que tiene un triángulo amoroso con una historia absurda, definitivamente hay mejores formas de representar a los adolescentes en pantalla pero la gran mayoría de las películas elige este camino, y a veces funciona, cuando una historia es tan mala que es buena, pero en su gran mayoría no se salvan, gracias por la reseña ya se que película evitar
La gran mayoría sabe que exponer a los adolescentes de ésta forma vende, pero tal y como dices, hay otras producciones que representan mejor ésta etapa y no venden una idea sub realista de excesos y descontrol.
